Something else I find VERY odd about the 911 call. It may be just me, but I would never be so formal as to say, "our daughter" ....I know me, I would say "MY."

It sounds as if she's desperate to include John as if to say we're in this together.

I wonder who the telephone is registered to. The 911 operator says, "Is this Kath ......?"

They must have Caller ID back then for 911 calls.

Who is this Kath?

I don't recall thus being addressed before. If so,.where is the thread? Thank you.

911: Ok, what’s your name? Are you...
PR: Patsy Ramsey...I am the mother. Oh my God. Please.

Today Show, 2003

911: “Okay, what’s your name? Are you Kath...?”
Patsy: “Patsy Ramsey, I’m the mother. Oh my God! Please!”

Listen to the recording. The operator says, "Are you Pat-..."? She's interrupted by Patsy before she can finish the question. While the 911 operator has the line open, she has access toinformation on the people known to live in the house.

It's hard for me to identify what I actually hear on the 911 call because unfortunately the uploads I have heard of it are subtitled with what they think they hear, and thus I've been inadvertently influenced and am then inclined to hear what they do. For me, on one video I can easily hear "Sweetie, what did you do!?" and on another I can hear "They're going to arrest me" at the same point in the call. At the end of the non enhanced version it sounds like Patsy speaking but the enhanced version to me sounds more like a child is speaking. So in conclusion, I really have no idea haha.

The problem with the tape we have heard all these years is that it was edited (albeit sloppily) so until that NASA enhancement is released all we can do is let our minds be influenced by the subtitles. I too have heard the "arrest me" part. However the legendary "what did you find?/we're not speaking with you" portion has always been left out the circulating tapes as I understand.

Accepting all that, it would seem that they were trying to protect him from the trauma of that morning. Sounds completely reasonable...IF it was a murder right away.
You don't really want your child seeing his dead sibling.

I could definitely see that logic, in a RDI theory. If they knew she was dead, keeping him in his room and later rushing him out of the house definitely makes sense. My three younger siblings were home when my aunt (who we lived with) was found dead in her bed. My parents were completely freaked out and kept yelling at the kids to just stay in their rooms because they didn't want them coming out and seeing her body.

That, and it would prevent BR from inadvertently contradicting JR's and PR's version of events to LE until they had more time to coach or influence him.

Although in James Kolar's book he indicated that "Fleet White volunteered to take Burke to his house" because the R's friends "thought it wasn't a good idea for Burke to see his mother in her condition." It is still possible that BR was already prepped or that he agreed to fake being asleep, so they weren't concerned about him interacting with LE or seeing JBR's body.

If it wasn't PR's or JR's idea to remove BR from the scene, maybe they saw FW's suggestion as a good opportunity that could work to their benefit.

Does anyone think the 911 tape they are going to play on the James Kolar documentary will be clearer? Like maybe with the better technology of today we will be able to hear it better? Or maybe they were able to pick up even more in the conversation? I can't imagine them playing it on tv if the quality isn't better.

I doubt it, this issue will never be cleared until we hear the full, unedited 1st gen tape NASA cleaned up. I doubt they had access to a better version but I would love to be surprised. I guess anything is possible since Burke's tapes surfaced.

I imagine you're right. The trailer for the show definitely suggested new technology.

I heard Burke years ago.Patsy thinks she hangs up.Burke says "what did I do".His Father says just go upstairs or something very angry to him.

"we're not talking to you."

"what did you find?"

I heard it on some site that had enhanced the recording that was released.

It was as plain as day.

Sunshine4Me,
Might be they have a copy of the original tape, and can now exceed whatever NASA's capabilities were way back then? The 911 Operator can listen to it, and decide whether its genuine as she remembers events?

The focus is likely to be that BR was awake, and so why did the R's fabricate their version of events as they did, i.e. BR was written out of the early morning script, until he awoke that is?

.

I’m going to be very interested in hearing which version of the 911 recording they start with on the CBS documentary. I really hope they cover the first part of the call as well as the end that everyone talks about. The most complete version of the recording that has been made public is the one Tricia got and is loaded on ACR (http://www.acandyrose.com/patsy911-FFJ.mp3). It is a total length of 1:35.66 (1 minute, 35.66 seconds). Unfortunately the most controversial section at the end is partially erased with white noise recorded over it. My understanding is that this is how it was received from Mary Lacy. But that version also includes the very telling (IMO) beginning of the recording where Patsy is speaking to someone else (Burke, I think) before she realizes the call has been answered by the 911 operator. Other versions are floating around with either the beginning or the end completely cut off.

What I find interesting is that Paula Woodward (that’s right -- I’ll write her name instead of using only initials) has a version on her book's website that is a total of 1:13.67 (http://www.wehaveyourdaughter.net/911-call). It’s been cleaned up a bit with some of the background noise stripped out, but why is it 22 seconds shorter? I compared it to the original version and found that the first 13 seconds and the last 9 seconds have been removed.

Wondering where her version was stored in order to link directly to it in this post, I looked at the HTML source for her page that has it linked. Guess where her version comes from. Here’s the direct link that is programmed into her website page:

otg,
Nice sleuthing, the shorter size tells us they have something to hide.

Exactly, UKG. Especially (IMO) the beginning. Why cut that out? I think it's because they know what the conversation was that was going on before Patsy realized the call had been answered. If there is a smoking gun anywhere, it's there. It proves conspiracy between all three Ramseys before the 911 call was ever answered. I sure hope they find that in the CBS documentary.

And here I thought @$$-clown was just plain stupid. Looking more like she has an interest, after all.

Wow thank you for the info and the links. You guys are really awesome. I didn't know there was a conversation at the beginning, I had only heard the version online with the conversation at the end, and it was very hard to make out. As for Paula Woodward's version, if there's nothing to hide there should be nothing left out. I'm off to listen to them!

Greetings, Sunshine4Me, and welcome to WS.

You should go back and read some of the older posts in this and the other thread on the 911 call. I tried (with my amateur limitations) to clean up the recording. You might find the following post helpful. It has that link and a link to a document that shows what I believe is the best transcript.
