My guess is shopping at Target, talking on her cell phone, at home on the computer while the A's were at work and from some of the credit card slips she liked to go to the movies. jmo

I did not know that about the movies!! I know she spent tons of CA's $$, and she did seem to be a Target shop-o-holic, and from her cell/computer records she was constantly on there. But I just thought she might be into things more nefarious......

I also did not mean she specifically went looking for a minister's son, just when she met JG, she thought he would be a good someone to pin little Caylee on as the dad.

Do we know exactly who this "lawyer's rep" is? Now Baez has a mouthpiece again?

wonder who is the rep also.... but the article starts out "Casey's legal team ....." HOW ON EARTH can she afford a legal "team"!!! :maddening:

"Casey Anthony’s legal team has accused her ex-fiancé Jesse Grund of “cashing in” for shopping a book detailing his relationship with the mother of tragic Caylee Anthony. "

Maybe I missed something here but does anybody know why the State didn't call Jesse as a witness?

Because he had no information to offer as to how Caylee died. And he was a very peripheral friend by the time FCA was spending time with Tony.

I guess KC is no longer indigent. jmo

Plus wasn't JG on record as saying KC was a wonderful mother when they were together? Now he describes her as diabolical. It would have been a win for neither side. jmo

1) pro bono work

2) contingency basis

..the defense did try to get him in, they kept him around all day, finally proferring his testimony at 5 p.m. all they wanted out of him was what he had to say about lee staring at, and then groping kc in the night-----the state objected to the hearsay--------judgeP agreed.

The DT rep was best served by responding, "no comment".

The griping about JG's motives from their perception only seeds and fuels the theory that JG has some 'goods' on FCA that concern them and their clients image.

The griping about 'cashing' in and being self-serving will only backfire on them as they try to 'cash in' on behalf of FCA and present her story in a self-serving manner.

They portray a stance of, it is o.k. for FCA to sell her story, her image and tell her story but it is not o.k. for anyone else to do so. Bias anyone?

If they have nothing to fear about what JG has to say then why criticize? JG may focus on CA's treatment of FCA ... enabling them to focus on the dysfunction of the family. After all, JG has nothing on the period in question only the events leading up to it.

The DT are upset that they cannot sell their client yet due to her notoriety and ... when the story eventually comes out it will be lost in the noise and passe.

FCA ... it is all about everyone else who will get their story out while you remain in hiding and gagged by your circumstances. Let the public record and public speak ... he who publishes first wins ...

Your post gives me hope. Thank you.

First, if she is capable of getting "pro bono work", then she might have to use them in court, instead of having the state continue to pay her way. If she can secure a "legal team" right now, she can certainly secure one for all future court cases.

Second, if it's done on a "contingency basis", one would assume she will be coming into a big pay day. Thus, she would have to pay the money back to the State of Florida, pay the lawsuits, fines, fee's etc..

The State of Florida is watching her, she can't have it both ways for very long.

Now that is calling the kettle black! :banghead:

On a side note..How in the world had her parents afforded a personal attorney for three years? DONATIONS! Personal attorneys run into about a $100,000. The parents are the ones making money and have from July 16, 2008 forward.

The felon must have smuggled photos out of the house while she was on bond and got a good pot of money ($200,000). I suspect it was advised by Baez.

I noticed the felon has two different ones for her deposition...attorneys flock to her like flies to doo.

Oh good - what I remember is that instead of actually "speaking" her guilt, he reverted back to FCA not being the same person he remembered or knew, and then moved into family dysfunction.

It was to me and my memory as if he couldn't bring himself to put the responsibility of Caylee's death directly and cleanly onto FCA, but immediately passed on the responsibility of it onto the Anthony's family dysfunction. Maybe he doesn't want to or can't admit he fell in love with a murderess? is the Dr. Drew interview the one you are remembering?

But this reverting to the Anthony's is where I feel his father's influence - and the reason why I won't be reading his book.

Cindy helped Casey lie about the pregnancy and tried rope poor JG in as a dad for Caylee. Cindy also did accuse JG's dad in an email of being the leader of a devil cult that sacrificed Caylee. I'm not sure why JG's dad would make this book unreadable. Cindy all but tried trick his son into being the father of a baby that wasn't his, also put the blame for what happened to Caylee on JG and his dad. They have every right to be angry and not be nice to the A's in their book, IMO. Or is there another reason his dad's influence would be bad on this book? I'm curious to know.

I agree ... JG's book could provide the greatest insight into the A's and FCA since they spent a year as an 'engaged' family unit and the Grund's babysat Caylee and spent quality time with FCA. An independent view from the inside.

TL only knew FCA for a short time and it was more about sexual relations and partying than family life and Caylee.

I think JG's book could provide an interesting read about the dynamics of CA versus FCA and Caylee's life stuck-in-the-middle at that time. Did they truly care about Caylee or was she just used as a pawn in a passive-aggressive power struggle?

Contingency refers to an award from a law suit. KC withdrew her suit against ZG. So there will be no award to KC. Same with the state unless she sues them, which will be expensive and given who KC is "fat chance". So, I would guess they are doing this for her for free. Is it dangerous for a lawfirm to do this? How many people in the future will stop paying this lawfirm and ask them for pro-bono services??? Why are they still hanging on the KC when the judge told them she needed to get a public defender for her appeal? jmo

Hi Lampchop! :seeya:

"Contingency", IMO, can also be a percentage of $ she earns off a book deal, pics, video's etc. I was trying to put a positive spin on a comment :loser: The State of Florida should have their nose in each and every dime she makes off of Caylee's death. FCA has been declared "indigent", but we all know she is making $ somehow. They might be holding it for her, but IMO, they are not doing this for FREE. Those attorney's are in bed with her, so to speak, and are waiting for their big pay day too. There is nothing "pro-bono", everything has a price tag. Unfortunately, it's all off the murder of little Caylee. There is something sick, maybe even on the verge of illegal, in the way these "attorney's" are handling the Felon and her finances. Like I said, she can't have it both ways, "something" has got to catch up with her. :maddening:

Contingency just means contingent on something. It could be on numerous things, not just money won in a suit.

Well isn't this interesting...would curtail Cindy's money-making enterprises.

Not really Aedrys, it is simply that although I agree both JG and his father have much to be expressing animosity against the Anthony's - the father makes me uneasy with his vast conspiracy theories which he interweaves with his religious hell and damnation theories. I read some of the stuff he was putting out in the early days and it was too "out there" for me to be comfortable with.

I'm all for putting responsibility where responsibility lies and would like to leave it with the law, but when you bring in the hell and brimstone effect, plus a lot of satan stuff - and I've gone back into my own little world. That's all. I found Jesse much more reserved during an interview I briefly saw when he was with his father near the end or after the end of the trial, and I thought he was much less relaxed and "more his father" than before the trial began or a couple of years ago.

It kind of felt like one of those "let this be a lesson to you for straying off the path" kind of things. If I remember correctly, Jesse's parents were not happy with Jesse and FCA thinking about living together before being married. Which reminds me - have we ever seen or heard from Jesse's mother? I'm coming up with a complete blank....now that seems unnatural....

Attorney's will take a case on a contingency basis but it is usually for personal injuries because the attorneys know there is a good chance there will be an award from an insurance company. Most sane attorneys want some assurances you can pay your bill and they usually ask for a retainer up front.

I just love it when CM complains about all the attorney's who worked pro-bono on KC's case and the State wouldn't pay their salary. No one twisted anyone's arm to join the team. Once KC was declared indigent she was entitled to a public defender same as any other person under the same circumstances. They held out for the gravy train and are still doing so, IMO. jmo
