didn't mean to imply that he did all this because of the reward (which isn't that much), I'm sure his intentions were all good, especially since he worked around the area the Anthony's lived....but since there is a reward, I think he should get it...as long as everything checks out.

I am going through the posts and news articles from those dates, posters here on the 11th are discussing LE investigating a bad smell 3 miles from the Anthony home, on the 12th Nancy Grace is discussing police officers called to the scene to investigate bad smell near Anthony home, dead animal found.

This thread is moving fast so this might already be answered, do you think they assumed they found the smell by finding the dead animal and thought that was all there was to it?

This is unreal.....The OCSD is screwed no matter what they say.

If they say they checked out the tips & searched the area thouroughly then Baez is going to say that proves that the bag wasn't there.

If they didn't respond to the calls then that is proof of "Shoddy" police work

Unfortunately August 15 is also the same day LP is coming to town to bail Casey out of jail hits the press and all focus seems to move to that, so i am not coming up with any further info. Lots of debate about whether Caylee's body would smell 8 weeks after she died and how there could be a large scale search that is not visible and then it all goes to bounty hunter bond debates.

Let's not be so quick to throw OCSO under the bus. When they look into it further, it will make sense. Of course the defense is waiting with baited breath to pounce on any thing they can because they don't have anything else to go on.

The defense is ultimately going to make a lot of the fact the remains were discovered after numerous trips from the meter reader… This is probably a game-changer,although im praying not.

I don't know. Now they are saying the meter reader was off-duty. Well, what about the 9-1-1 call where the supervisor said that he'll be waiting for the Sheriff in a "white Colorado with OC decal on the side?"

How did the guy end up telling his supervisor to call 9-1-1? If he was out there looking, surely he'd have a cell phone with him? Was it just a big ol coincidence that he went looking on his own and then ran into his co-workers and asked his boss to call 9-1-1?

If he is lying so he can get the reward, then he could be lying about other things...

This poor guy is being trashed in the media right now. No wonder he is staying away from the public eye. No it is being stated that the Defense camp is very busy with all of this New information.

I think he hid first, got trashed second.

Why hide when so many people are looking to give him a reward?

This is a man who has been actively involved in this investigation for 4 or 5 months. He is not a shy guy who accidentally stumbled upon the limelight.

Honestly, I see this making LE look bad as a department, but I don't see how it helps kc's case any. If the man only reported a smell....it obviously was not taken too seriously.

I thought neighbors have said that the area was underwater before August? Like the end of June?

I don't get it.....how does this help KC? Fox just reported that meter reader saw a bag in Aug. Called for LE to check it out. Does this make Caylee any less dead? Does this change the fact of the smell of decomp in the trunk?? I don't get all of the hysteria over this....

Jose Baez is going to jump all over this. He's going to use this as proof that the area was searched back in august as well as that the meter reader is the person who killed Caylee

I'm sure he'll try. But he'll never be able to explain why Casey said Zanny did it--or why Casey wasn't frantic when Caylee went missing. Forensics will show that Casey killed Caylee. I think this is just a "speed bump" in the case. JMO

I do not understand why, just because he called in 3 times before, and kept looking, he is suspected of wrong doing. If I were in the area, and had the opportunity to be looking, I would have been. Is he the only person that ever called in more than one tip?
Now, I understand we need some answers here from LE, but I really think this man was just a concerned person.
