Why This Case Will Soon Go Cold Again...

Hey thanks Fieldnotes! That Kemper dude is something else. I just watched an interview of him and how he explained that he hated his mother so much that when he killed her he put her vocal cords down the disposal unit! And he used to bury his victims' heads under her window! yet, he appeared so very normal and quite intelligent and likeably witty. he also said he learned a lot about investigation techniques by watching cop shows on tv.

Suffolk Police K-9, Aviation Units Honored
By Lindsay Christ on May 17th, 2012

Quote:

Suffolk County police K-9 Section and Aviation Unit officers were among those honored Wednesday night for their work in the Gilgo murders investigation and the Manorville wildfires.
The ceremony honored 40 department members and three civilians.

Quote:
The K-9 Section received a Critical Incident award for their efforts during the Gilgo beach homicide investigation, where they spent a total of 19 days searching the marshy area for human remains. K-9 Officer John Mallia and his dog Blue, who discovered the first body at Giglo in December 2010, were on hand to accept the award.

Mallia also received a Commissioner’s Career Achievement Award and Cop of the Year for the Special Patrol Bureau.

"If you’re a bad guy and a K-9 cop shows up, you're going to have a big problem," he said. "If you’re a bad guy and the aviation unit sends out a helicopter, you're going to have a big problem. However, if you're lost or in trouble, these units are going to be your best friends."

Yes, clearly in the Gilgo case where aviation units and dogs were sent out the bad guy has a "big problem" and these units were SG's "best friends". If by "big problem" you mean drinking big pina coladas in florida and by "best friends" you mean the kind of best friends that let you die while they make small talk at the gate with GC.

Good morning, ladies and gentlmen. I hadto nix the reward fund discussion, I'm afraid. WS has a policy against using the forum to stage, plan, and organize fundraising campaigns. Too bad, too, because it's a good proposal, but ya know ->>:tos:

Bessie, thanks for the update, but can you ensure that Mari Gilbert is aware of the idea.

Thanks

Hi Everyone, I haven't posted here in awhile, but I have been here reading most of the great posts!
As a part time resident of W Gilgo Beach, I, like many are anxious that the killer(s) will be brought to justice. I am very uncomfortable when I am out there.

I have wondered if the wildfires in Manorville, which were suspicious in nature, were not set by someone trying to cover up some of the evidence? I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned it, but it's worth a mention anyway.

Wonder if the LISK thinks it's safe to come back to Gilgo?

Now that we know that SG's remains did not show any obvious links to the rest of this case, I have to ask, if we look at this case right now where it stands without anything to do with SG or anyone from Oak Beach (who many of you attempted to loosely associate with this case under the assumption that SG was a victim of the same killer), where does this case actually stand in terms of progress?

Was it the artist's sketches of the unidentified victims?

Other than the discovery of the bodies and the discovery of how DNA from some remains are linked to others, were the sketches the only other advances in this case?

Sure seems like this is a cold case that is never going to have any major breakthroughs.

I share your opinion that this is now a cold case.

All we can do is hope the cops get a lucky break like they did in Son of Sam.

I sure don't want another girl to have to go missing in Oak Beach for the case to heat up again.

Every time one of my predictions comes true I have to deal with unwarranted accusations. You'd think I learned my lesson. Well guess not because here we go again...

I predict that more partial remains are going to be discovered along Ocean Parkway with the assistance of a dog. It is also going to be impossible to determine if those remains have been there for some time or if they were new to the area. So once again, the case will grow colder with even more questions being raised and zero answers to the long list of unanswered questions.

Where on the parkway? Near the sanctuary? ...

So in a nutshell, as long as LISK with his psychopathic sadistic self continues to murder prostitutes and dump them in Suffolk, he's good. Really no worries unless he does the same to a few Suffolk residents like college students or daughters of doctors and lawyers. Am I correct?

I believe that Tina Foglia and Jacqueline Marterella were LISK's early victims. I think he was smart enough to figure out that if he continued to kill non working women, he would get caught because they would be missed a lot quicker than the average working girl. If he becomes more fragmented it will lead him to act in a disorganized manner (like Bundy in Florida) and that may help in leading to his arrest. If he has not killed in a while, he is likely showing a lot of pent up frustration and hopefully someone is noticing.

Escorts use websites to advertise their services, and there are websites/forums "clients" use to review/rate/discuss the escorts and their services. I have been wondering if escorts have forums to discuss their clientele, and I found this 2006 tech article...

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/1087930...er-guide-prostitutes-click-away/#.T8qyhbDLxoN

I have no idea if "The Erotic Review" (mentioned in the article) is still active, but I can't help but wonder if there any forums where escorts might have made repeated complaints (something more than "he wouldn't pay me"!) about particular clientele. Also, I suppose the reliability of such info (even if it exists) would be questionable. Maybe I just answered my own questions. (so, maybe... nevermind)

The Erotic Review is indeed still active and on some sites like you mentioned if a client posts a less than desirable review, the escort will often comment back on the bad review in defense of the meeting...just a little insight there.

But you posed an interesting question....

I was researching a homicide case in Florida recently and while researching came across a website where it appears strippers posted comments to one another and it is from 2006...

Just for purposes of this example, the victim I was researching and the brief description of the case is at the following link:

http://www.fdle.state.fl.us/Content/Office-of-Statewide-Intelligence/Homicides/Karley-Collum.aspx

So while researching more about the victim, I came across the following website - you have to read quite a ways down the comments, but eventually (I think the first post date is 08/22/2007), the victim and the homicide are discussed among the victims co-workers. Please let me emphasis that I am not suggesting this homicide victim was an escort, but rather it appears she worked in some capacity in a strip club (possibly a deejay as she's referred to once as a "techno queen) - here's the link:

http://www.dfwnites.com/discthread.asp?p=8070

I recognize that this isn't exactly the type of website you were referring to, but I do think it's existence lends itself to the possibility that the type of forums you asked about do exist in some form - just a matter of finding them I think.

Good research, SD! I'm gonna check 'em out now. Maybe, just maybe there will be something of interest in the links. :)

It appears that payment is required for full access to both sites, but maybe it's minimal? One seems to be selling more than reporting.

If the site administrator's intentions are to truly help keep escorts informed and safe and not strictly to make a profit, then I think a reasonable fee to help support the costs for running the site is not too much to ask. I havent checked it out yet. But if it is legit, then paying a reasonable fee is a lot better than paying with your life. And I am certain you would agree.

i found another small site where a group of escorts were warning eachother about a dangerous "hobbyist" trolling through Georgia. I need to find it again and post it here.
I agree with you guys that sites like that can certainly help investigators track patterns that may lead to this killer or killers.
