The news keeps referring to him as being a Mosinee man but as a local I would like to point out that town is part of a larger area know as Wausau Wi. Also, Jesus is known locally as having connections to gang like activity and drug trafficking in his past. I would be very curious if they checked Jesus for marks after her going missing. Cassy was a fighter for sure. My wife graduated with her and I grew up riding the same school bus with her. She wouldn't have gone down without a fight.

Most likely this will be deleted, but my heart has been with Cassy from get go.

Thanks for local 411. Bless you!

While out in the woods, hunters are encouraged to call 911 and not touch anything if they come across something that seems to be suspicious.

Change of venue denied in homicide case - Central Wisconsin News
[...]

Annie Jay, an assistant attorney general of Wisconsin who is prosecuting the case along with Clark County District Attorney Melissa Inlow, said the standard for considering a change of venue is not the mere presence or even the amount of pretrial publicity a case receives, but the nature of it. In this case, Jay said, the news coverage has been limited to the evidence presented so far in court documents and during court proceedings, and has not included opinionated commentary that may sway potential jurors’ viewpoints.

[...]

In his ruling to deny the motion, Diehn said he is bound to move a trial if there is a “reasonable likelihood” that a fair jury cannot be seated. In this case, he said, most of the news coverage has come from reputable news sources, and it has not been inflammatory or opinionated.

A five-day trial is scheduled to begin Monday for the 42-year-old man charged with killing a missing woman and hiding her remains.

[...]

Jesus Contreras Perez is charged with first-degree intentional homicide, hiding a corpse, and stalking resulting in bodily harm in connection to the disappearance of Ayon.

Court documents say Ayon and Contreras Perez have a child together.

Detectives say on Sept. 26 and Sept. 27 in 2020 Contreras Perez’s Google search history shows he searched “how to make a homemade silencer”, “what a silencer really sounds like”, building a fuel filter suppressor” and “testing a new silencer... " and “homemade suppressor demo for .30-06.”

Authorities have not found Ayon's body or her car, according to the criminal complaint.

According to the defense attorney for accused killer Jesus Contreras Perez, there is a reasonable possibility that a co-worker of the victim in the case may have committed the crime. Furthermore, says attorney Claire Longdin, police did not properly investigate him as a suspect while looking into the disappearance/murder of 27-year-old Cassandra Ayon of Loyal.

The jury in the first-degree murder trial for Contreras Perez that is to begin on June 6 will not hear Longdin’s theory, however, Judge Daniel Diehn ruled last week. The suspect named by Longdin did have the motive, Diehn said, but did not have any apparent opportunity to kill her on the night she went missing in October 2020 nor does any physical evidence exist to suggest he did.
