I wish I had an archive of press conference videos. I want to hear again what the sheriff says and doesn't say about the 911 call.

JMO -- is it possible that talk of "a 911 call for help" morphed into "help" ON the 911 call?

Whatever was in that call, I have the deepest respect for the 911 operator/dispatcher and all LE for their rapid responses that night.
You need to look at the videos of him prior to the first press conference. He says a lot more in those than he does once the FBI shows up. There is one in particular I can think of where he is in a hallway at the sheriffs department and I think he is wearing a hoodie.

I would also look for a Toyota for sale, the car the plate number comes back to. I believe it is as likely she just bought the white Ford as it is a typo, and the transfer of plates simply had not been sent in yet.

I've decided on the typo theory. It seems to be backed up by this photo, from last winter or before. This couldn't have been taken this October because the leaves were still partly on the trees when she was abducted.

That is not the same vehicle, maybe it is the vehicle of the friend's parent. I just did a quick look to the beginning of this thread, the windows are slanted wrong and more.

I've decided on the typo theory.

I don't think it's a theory(sorry ILC).

The car info the the call log is correct make and model. That would have come directly from the state interface. Transpose the N and G and you get a Ford back from the state.

I (still) don't think this is of importance from the log.

Knowns in log:

1) Addresses
2) Exact times of actions
3) Some names
4) Two asked to stop driving by

I think there are avenues of investigation based on the "why" of some of the addresses.

And I think ILC is very correct regarding trying to work with what is not known as obvious as may sound.

I have about 7 working theories, some I think more likely that others (the "Wiki explanation" is not on this list! :) ) Most of these do not pass the TOS and, of course, make assumptions that I am willing to call viable "unknowns".

This pic does tug at the heart though. Showing children (and they are children) enjoying themselves. Is that a little bear on the ground? Just shows that we are always looking for something, anything. Sometimes I say something just to try to keep things going and the attention on it.

This photo makes me feel very sad. Unbelievable that it's been almost 3 months and Jayme is still missing. A very sad commentary on the state of human beings and what horrible acts they commit on each other. I really want to think that the majority of people are good, but we have so many bad people out there. Sad indeed. Hoping for a break in this case and Jayme can be found.

Lol, you and I are not going to go around with the license plate again I promise. I have only one reason I have not let it entirely go which I can't mention here and will not mention again. I respect your experience and knowledge regarding call logs and more.

I have spent the past few days more on what is not known and trying to put my head in that gear, it isn't easy, it is opposite of what the brain wants to do but once one does it sometimes something just clicks that would mean nothing otherwise. It doesn't mean it is right but it sure changes a view.

I too have come around to wondering why one address may be listed and another one not. As well as a few other things...

That's an adorable photo. It makes me feel so sad, though. I hope Jayme is found alive .

It is crushing to read the headlines lately, across the whole country. This story, other missing persons, hits for hire. Boyfriends killing girlfriends, strangers abducting children. It seems there's just no end to the evil -- unsolved crimes everywhere.

Meanwhile, persons of interest walk among us, without enough evidence to name them, charge them, convict them. Different crimes, different shoes, but walking all the same.

I wonder constantly about this case. Will that elusive tip come in? And what will it be?

A horrible story in Colorado moved to an arrest when a couple in Idaho called in a tip. Just a tiny bit of information!

Here, we have such little to go on. A narrow timeline, a small cast, a few clues.

There must be some absolutes, I tell myself. It was either targeted or random. It followed a script or it didn't.

These are my thoughts:

What if it was supposed to be a blitz attack, in search of drugs, prescribed or otherwise? One story house, set back from the highway... only they hit the wrong house? Came in expecting to rough up some druggies and do business their way? Scare tactics, no murdering in mind. Realized way too late it was just a middle aged couple... and then a kid...

Or did they come in, with a plan, carried out at warp speed? Did they do their recon, did they know exactly how many people would be inside? Did it matter?

Was it one person? Two? Middle-aged loner? Peers? A leader and a follower? One motive? Two? Clean cut? Or grizzly? One get-away car or two? And where were they, some 4-6 minutes later? Screaming down Hwy 8 toward the casino or lights out, on a side road, waiting for LE to pass? Where are they now? Local? Across state lines? In jail, on other charges? They gotta be somewhere.

MOO Probably statistically rare, but what about a male-female pair? Maybe a female the Closs family knew. Maybe recently, maybe a long time ago. Total grasp here, but a non threatening girl they once knew with a not so nice boyfriend they didn't... I'm just thinking of some especially horrific crimes, perpetrated by vile males with female accomplices. The couple who held Elizabeth Smart captive. The horrors of what the precious girl endured.

Again JMO, just throwing ideas out there. What brought James to the door that night? A ruse? No stretch, I can see him initially beginning to open the door if he saw a girl standing there.

And given the nightmare Jayme would've just witnessed, two perps, she might go to the one who offers her a better chance for safety....

Cruelty upon cruelty.

My heart is heavy for her family.

What happened that night?

Commotion and unintelligible voices on the 911 tape lend toward multiple perps, IMO... unless the timeline is off and one or more parents were still communicating. .. maybe Jayme....

Waiting for a break in case --

Well put. I at first off the bat was on a wrong house thought or meth fueled strangers/wrong house. I still hold that theory but it is not my only nor my favored one at the moment. Other than the 911 call, too much seemed to go right for a perp(s). Too many unknowns if they did not know the family or the house that again, all went so very right for him or them. I mean there is such a thing as dumb luck but just going with logic and common sense, they would have had to be very lucky...

Just trying to keep the thread/case alive, nothing that has not been said before more than likely :)

A $50,000 reward is on the table in the Jayme Closs case. So far, the impact has been minimal.
A few weeks after Jayme Closs disappeared under a cloud of mystery from her family's home, the reward for information leading to the whereabouts of the 13-year-old girl surged to $50,000.

But the sizable payout — which started at $25,000 before doubling — hasn’t led to a breakthrough in the investigation into the Oct. 15 murders of Jayme’s parents, James and Denise Closs. Or Jayme’s apparent abduction.

And there’s a good chance the money will never be claimed.

Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald told USA TODAY NETWORK-Wisconsin that while offering a reward is typically done in high-profile missing persons cases, it hasn’t made an impact on Jayme’s case.

“The reward didn’t spike our tips,” Fitzgerald said. “Our tips spiked because a 13-year-old girl is missing."

While the reward in the Closs case isn’t generating significant leads, tips have not dried up, said Sheriff Fitzgerald.

“They’re still coming in, more than I thought (they would),” he said. “I’m very happy with the tips that have been coming in.”

Imagine all the work they have to do behind the scenes, LE, BCA, ATF, Forensics, FBI, informants, etc.

FBI and the setups they go thru... taking over neighboring offices and businesses, etc to watch activities.

Any POI may have multiple people following and watching their moves, dating, timing, logging, pictures, etc.

We spend huge amounts and time on wrongful activity. So sad

As a single father to a little princess daughter. I feel invested in this as Mr Closs can not

That’s how I feel, as well. Luck usually comes to those that put themselves in the way of it.

Also, I think this crime lacks the...sloppiness that is usually left by the street level criminals. I know it’s not a white collar crime, but feels more like a white collar criminal did it. If that makes sense...?
