It does say "theft from a person or a corpse." Weird charge. How many times does this charge apply to a corpse rather than a living person?

Also, I'm less suspicious of the other booking (that stood out to me) after poking around Facebook. Not sure how much I'm allowed to say here, hence the vagueness.
I've had a few cases with that charge. Most were the result of 2 or more using drugs together, one dying from overdose and something taken that belonged to the deceased. I've seen people charged or convicted of *abuse of a corpse* in the same situation if someone simply turned the body over, moved it etc.. It sounds horrific but isn't always.

It was the Medical Examiner's suitcase.

ETA: Sorry, I see now the above was already answered by others. I'm having trouble with the site and thought I was on the last page when posting. This is so frustrating not being able to read and respond!
I'm having problems too and didn't know if it was my internet service or just the site. I can't even " like" a comment. Takes forever to get to next page. Keep getting a white screen saying the server is down for maintenance. Try again later

I’m not following you- may I ask why you say that? Many thanks
I was replying to the speculation that Denise may have been the target. "Overkill" sometimes happens when perp has a rage against the victim and inflicts more injuries than is necessary to kill them. Purely speculation on our part, but James having one wound could suggest he was killed to get him out of the way, if Denise has more it could indicate some sort of passion/rage towards her. Strictly a theory, not going to touch on rumors at all.

From watching all the video's out there, does anyone feel as if they gave the side deck more focus then the front? Just wondering everyone's views.

IMO, there is no way to know all the clips we see are just 30 snapshots, and the footage isn't shot with sleuthing in mind it shot to just get a montage to play behind a news read. It did seem like it got some attention though.

Also interesting - the bench from the side deck is missing in later photos of the front of the house. There was a star decoration to the left of the porch and a star to the right - those are also missing in subsequent photos I've seen of the house. The bird feeder along the porch railing (right side) and whatever that is along the left side of the railing are also gone and the porch decorations / railing decorations were gone BEFORE the storm door was removed as that is still visible in the photos I'm eyeballing. I'm trying to figure out where these subsequent photos originated from so I can link you to the as they're interesting indeed but so far, no links available to MSM sources. Also the porch where the bench was... there is small barrier under the porch that was likely meant to keep animals from nesting etc under the porch - that has a significant hole in the top near the bottom of the deck. Not sure if that is as a result of something during the murders, or not but sure makes me go "hmmm". A wreath is also missing off the front door area (left side).

There are two photos side by side that I'm seeing. One shows some paint or siding removed from the home as well near that back deck. It was not removed in another photo....

In one photo a lamp is visibly ON and can be seen through a window near that front door (to the right). Living room / family room is my guess there based on size of the lamp I'm seeing.
ETA: I'm adding things I'm noticing as I'm eyeballing two photos.....

It isn't your Internet. I haven't even been able to get on the site (off and on - mostly off) most of the day. With with Wifi or data.

Thank you so much. I live a few states away from Wisconsin, and two days ago a car identical to the Challenger showed up in my neighborhood, parked on the street. Does not have WI license plate. Trying to decide whether or not to snap photo and send to LEO.

With all due respect, do it! Anything is possible, especially considering the complete mystery of the Closs case. Thank you for your keen observance and concern! :-)

Did I miss something? I thought LE was pretty clear that this is a double homicide. Would you mind sharing your source? TIA!

It's in the dispatch log. The first LEO on the scene initially thought he was dealing with a suicide but the impression quickly changed as he looked at the scene. He also observed that James had "answered the door" and that the door was kicked in. About 5 minutes later they found Denise in the house. LE subsequently radioed dispatch to change suicide to homicide and asked for back up. We have to remember when looking at the info it was simply the officer's first impressions. Some of those things may be correct first impressions or some may have changed once the forensics team was there to look at it all in more complete detail. The sheriff confirmed after the autopsy that this was a double homicide. But where on the body both were shot has not been released yet. Some of us are trying to guess at what the scene may have been based on the first responders initial impressions. I have also guessed that perhaps James had a head wound, but it's just a guess. JMO.

Interesting: I noticed there is a bench on the deck in both of these photos. However, in subsequent photos I've found of the home online... that bench is NOT there. Why not? Where'd it go? What evidentiary value could it hold? I speculated earlier it looked lopsided as if someone had perhaps stood on one end of it.....

That is what I am thinking - LE took that bench for further analysis.... leading me to believe they had reason to believe it may have had some evidentiary value.

Via photos attached, it looks like a bunch of guys standing around contaminating the area. Where are the photos showing that bench is now gone?

Just spoke to Closs family member. So grateful for yesterday's massive #jaymecloss search. Called it "amazing." Said it restored their faith in humanity after some ugly gossip on social media & beyond. Focus remains- #FindJaymeCloss. 4pm Sheriff news update today. We'll be there.
No wonder they don't want to speak the media or make a statement. I wouldn't either if I were them. It has got to be a horrible nightmare for that family.

And how can someone kick in a door without knocking the person out of the way? How can Dad's feet be in the door if the door was kicked in while he was answering the door?
ETA Door would open inward. Storm door outward.

Maybe he shot dad first through the glass window in the wooden door? I think dad was down already when a perp broke in. But another possibility is that the perp went right to breaking down the door and James was up against it, trying to hold it closed after it had been broken. Perhaps a brief struggle occurred and James was shot while the door was only open a few inches.

Seems logical to me that LE would be investigating the deck door and that area. The suspects had to exit the house through some door, and it seems highly unlikely they would want to trample through the front door with all that blood evidence. Also, the back deck may not have been lit. JMO

Me too. I'm having to be stingy with my likes because it seems to stop loading every time I like something. It's definitely not just you....

Are we getting any type of presser/update today? I feel like we were but I can't remember the details, maybe I missed it.
