Maybe the dog dialed 911. I knew this had happened with landline phones years ago, but Google also returns several reports of dogs dialing 911 on modern cell phones.that's what I was thinking, all they need is for the dog to talk!![]()

Well it could have been more of a confrontation ......like a gun battle. Not sure tires on gravel are going to leave much of an impression... As for the rest of it, does it really matter to the assailants if somebody hears them pull in? They’re just going to kill them anyway.
Exactly. It's also equally possible that Jayme was taken simply because the suspect(s) didn't dare risk another gunshot after the 911 call was made.
(But I really don't even want to imagine what THAT might mean for Jayme if that's why she was taken. )

I think, in this particular situation, the godparents are responsible for caring for the orphan. It does not need a Last Will, maybe only the baptism certificate, IMO.None that I am aware of. More to the point, in the event that Jayme is found, I can not imagine social services doing anything that would tear an already traumatized child away from her family, unless there was clear evidence that not doing so would further endanger her. I just don't see that at all. And in all probabilility, James and Denise would likely have had wills anyway. Don't most parents plan for the future in that way ? I'm not a parent, but if I were , I would absolutely have a will making my wishes with respect to my child in the event of my death crystal clear.

in the catholic religion, godparents are for spiritual and moral advising. Not custodial parents in the event parents pass.I think, in this particular situation, the godparents are responsible for caring for the orphan. It does not need a Last Will, maybe only the baptism certificate, IMO.
Speaking of gun battles, did they ever determine or say if more than one weapon was used that night?Well it could have been more of a confrontation ......like a gun battle.
This was probably responded to a dozen times, but I had to skip a few pages to get caught up again. There may be some buses with dash cams to record cars running the stop signs, but I think most cameras on buses these days are recording what's going on inside the bus. It's been a lot of years since I drove one, but there were no cameras on them at all back then; and cars almost always stopped for them where I was driving.I don't think they do. Every video I've ever seen of cars passing buses was either set up as a one-time deal by the media doing investigative reporting or with the bus driver taping her phone to the windshield for the same purpose. I would be surprised if this school district had actual dash cams. This is a major aggravation to me, how vehicles constantly put children at risk at bus stops, so I've watched quite a few of these videos.
I'm not sure how important this is, but I don't believe the casino in Turtle Lake has really affected the town of Barron much at all. They're only about 14 miles away, but there are 2 other towns between them, and I don't really see Barron having much to attract the gamblers to the town. I'd expect them to be more likely to go to Cumberland. MOOI believe it's ok to mention LE Facebook pages here. Has anyone seen the St Croix Tribal FB recently?
The information on that brings me back again to a targeted but somewhat random crime.
There was a couple(man & woman) found at the Hertel Casino on OCT 20th. They were in the casino parking lot and found with drugs, a revolver ,and a bullet proof vest. They were alerted to security due to their doors being wide open. Not that this couple had any involvement with the Closs family , but it made me think that the casino could attract transient people to the Barron area. JMO.
Here is the latest news article. It states that Jayme’s cell phone was on the kitchen counter plugged in. Items removed from the house by LE were a mattress, a chair, and a door. The removal of a mattress is interesting because of what they hope to find on it. I think it’s possible the person(s) responsible for the murders and abduction arrived before the husband returned home that evening. He might have been the one to have kicked in door. Another article this evening said there were shoelaces or some type of string hanging from the chair that LE took with them. It’s possible someone was tied to the chair at one point during the crime. Also, it possible that something happened on the mattress that left visible stains. Taking Jayme would suggest that she was the motive for the crime, and perhaps she suffered something done to her on the bed before she was abducted. My thought is she was taken in part to help cover up crime evidence. New Video Surveillance Search Expanded, Electronic Device Detecting K-9 Used in Jayme Closs Search
But do we even know that the perp(s) knew about the 911 call being made? We are assuming that they knew, but how could they? You would think that they would be too busy grabbing Jayme and rushing out the door.I don’t understand what the additional risk of another gunshot would be after the 911 call was made.
The cops are already on the way.
Killer has already killed 2 people.
What’s the additional risk of another shot?

One thing I’ve been thinking a lot about is that, the perp had to have known that James wouldn’t have a gun handy himself for the killer as soon as the door opened or was being kicked in.

Maybe, it would be of interest, what would have been on a family schedule for the next week/s after the invasion/murders. Something important perhaps, a change in some form? A future threat, that the perp/s tried to prevent?Good point. Sounds like Sunday would be the best choice for all three.
Yea I know, I just couldn’t really explain my thought right. Still trying, but keep deleting. The killer knew he was going to kill. James would hesitate and make some decisions before he would start shooting at someone. I don’t think most people start shooting before they make some assessments. I don’t think most people think crazed killers are at their door
Speaking of gun battles, did they ever determine or say if more than one weapon was used that night?
As far as I've seen reported, it's not clear if the weapon used belong to/came with the perp(s) or if the Closs's own gun was used against them. All LE has said so far, afaik, is that (i) they found spent shell casings at the scene and (ii) no guns were found at the scene.
If the latter is true, zero guns in the house after the shooting, then it's possible/likely that the perp made off with any guns the Closs family had in the house--if the family had their own guns. It's possible the Closses had no guns of their own--but that'd be the exception in that part of the world. Most folks in those parts have at least a 22 or a shotgun.
And did LE find any boxes of unused shells in the home? If so, did the spent shells match up with the remaining shells still in the box?
One possibility is that the perp used the Closs's own gun and that gun only had enough rounds in it to shoot the two adults. Perp finds himself with an empty gun after shooting mom and dad and doesn't know where the family keeps their unused rounds; and so instead of shooting Jayme too decides to take her with and deal with her later.
I have posted a video about 5 times now of Paul Blume stating on the news last night that Denise's sister spoke to her on the phone at 10:00 PM.
When I was driving, we just called the dispatcher and gave the license number of any car that didn't stop, and she contacted the police who issued tickets. I'm not sure how they do it now, this was almost 30 years ago. There are so many who do it now, it would be hard to get all the license numbers without cameras.
