There was an arrest nearby due to this investigation. Drug related I assume. Not related according to LE. A poster above mentioned it again. I think it’s where the wrong house scenario has originated.

So not related to this case?

Because your prior posts seem to indicate that Jayme's parents could've had gambling debts related to the casinos.

I agree that things do get lost in translation with these fluid and obviously traumatic situations but I do think the word "attempt" shouldn't be dismissed. If I saw someone that I immediately thought was a suicide I would think initially you'd say suicide and then upon further inspection find the person to still be alive it would change to suicide attempt and not the other way around. As in, you wouldn't see someone with a GSW to the head and think "oh they're probably still alive" so I'd think it would have to be obvious that they were still alive in order for someone to use the word "attempt". Sorry if this is totally confusing...just something I will definitely be keeping in the back of my mind as this case unfolds more.
I think he may have had weak vital signs and was not yet dead, but I don't think he was conscious. Seems like both were found unresponsive.

This person thought they’d be able to gain entrance by simply knocking? Had this been someone after just Jayme, they could have went through a window or something. Not knock at the front door & make their presance known. Maybe they were trying to draw one of the parents outside? And when they realized that parent wasn’t coming out, they forced their way in? MOO

Not to mention giving the occupants time to call 911.

One photo shows police taking the storm door away as evidence. No obvious damage. From photos, it appears they've also taken the main door, but we haven't seen a photo of it that I know of. We do have the description that it was "shot in." So, did the person open the storm door and then shoot the main door? Were they shooting the lock to make it open? Or shooting through it at somebody looking through the peep hole and asking who was knocking?

LE didn't say the door was shot in though, correct? Is that just coming from a relative?

The dog that was posted on Jayme's FB page was a tiny little yorkie mix, lap dog size. No threat to a grown person with evil purposes. One kick with a steel toe would have silenced it. Kinda leans towards someone who knew the family and likes dogs and kids.

It may have been simply an assumption on the part of the officer first on scene. This is the trouble with 911 call logs. They have all kinds of things that are initial impressions/assumptions and no investigation of any kind to determine what happened has occurred at that point as that isn't a priority. Had Jayme's father been alive unit 329 would have advised as such and request EMT/Ambulance - and likely would have advised to "step it up".

Also keep in mind that this is not a transcript of radio traffic from officers to dispatch but what the 911 dispatcher handling the incident recorded in a log.

Are the numbers, such as 305, 329, individual LEOs? Or are they codes implying certain actions?

Great find to whoever found the Log!

317 REQUESTED THAT 501 RESPOND TO THE SCENE FOR TWO SUBJECTS DOWN, UNRESPONSIVE.

unresponsive = deceased?
Generally speaking it means dead or unconscious. It depends on how such things are recorded. Where I live you would hear over the scanner "unresponsive, not breathing" or "unresponsive, but is breathing" but that is over the air and would be in a transcript how it appears in a log is another matter. Without the transcript we can't know for certain what the "unresponsive" situation was for each individual.

I will note that if they were not dead yet at some point along the way prior to death the log would indicate CPR in progress as that is something they usually record because when it comes to an autopsy the ME would need to know whether CPR was performed to account for any bruising/injuries related to performing CPR. We don't see that. But again, we don't have a transcript.

This 911 log is so much to take in. Is it interesting that when LE put the BOL out for Jayme they are already saying that she's been abducted? And they say "by a stranger"?? What if dad was still alive when they got there and he was able to tell LE this information before he died?!

The call log is interesting. I, too, would like to know if their landline was disconnected previously (as many people no longer have a landline phone at all), or if this was something the perp(s) did.

Reading that they believe the father answered the door but also that the door was kicked in....I am wondering if this was someone known to him/the family. They are angry at him or someone in the house and arrive late at night, pounding on the door and yelling. He knows who this person is, can tell they are irate, and doesn't feel safe opening the door to them. Maybe he even walks near the door to yell at them to go the heck away or he will call police..something like that. Then at that time, the perp kicks in the door and shoots James. This is all MOO of course. I just can't stop thinking this was targeted and that the person was known by the family or at least one of the family members.

I still am unsure why they would take Jayme if they had a vendetta with one or both parents who they murdered, but I guess it could be as simple as, Jayme knows them, she is a liability for them, but they do not want to kill a child, so instead they take off with her.

Also I am curious where the dog was found. Was it in a crate or running loose? I know my dog would be going absolutely nuts, just insane if this was unfolding at my house. But the 911 dispatcher/call log did not mention dog barking on the phone, just yelling.
Log cites call attempt to landline number at residence was "disconnected." This would be a recorded message when number no longer active. If perp cut the "active" phone line to residence, caller would only hear ringing with no answer or direct to voicemail. MOO

If so, why wait hours to put out an alert? It was nearly 5 a.m. before that went out. Why wait nearly 4 hours if they were told this as soon as they arrived?

Edited to add: Looks like she was classified as missing around 3:30, so some of that delay was likely administrative. But it still indicates they had been at the crime scene for a couple of hours before making this determination. It didn't happen right away.

Individual LEOs. It usually refers to the outside marked patrol vehicle number. With actions, they would normally use the 10 code system over the radio.

I gather there was a community meeting called by police that was just for locals. True? Perhaps they felt the killer may show up just to see what was known? They limited it to locals so the media and curiosity seekers wouldn't fill all the seats.
