GUILTY WI - Reena Williams, 3, Town of Swiss, 14 Aug 2012

From the video above ...

DA states: The charges, allege a pattern of neglect prior to August 14th. There are no drug charges because the "synthetic" drugs are not illegal in WI. The charges would amount to misdemeanors, which compared to the felony charge, seem unnecessary.

These parents and their relative who is posting all over the news websites, would do well to keep their lips zipped in the media, period. There is no defense ...

:frown:

Reena's parents Williams and Danish returned to court Wed., Sept 26, in the neglect case. Can you imagine being one of Williams' three other daughters and reading his comment to the media?? What an inappropriate remark for a father to make!!

Hope that intimidation of witnesses will not be a factor in this case.

SIREN, Wis. (KMSP) -
Parents <snipped> appeared in court on Wednesday to learn how the case against them will proceed.

"I miss her. She's the greatest thing I ever had and I've got three other daughters," Thomas Williams, the girl's father, told reporters"<snipped>.

The hearing <snipped> was short, next one coming up in October won't be. <snipped> Prosecutors will present evidence against Williams and Danish to show they have enough to take the case to trial.

Testimony from witnesses is expected to paint a picture of how the pair neglected their daughter.

I didn't see any drug related charges. Shouldn't parents be charged? That is provable for sure, Should have been enough to keep them in jail. IMO

"Norine acknowledged that there are questions about the legality or illegality of such substances, which is why there are no drug charges at this point; however, the criminal complaint does claim those substances contributed to Reena Williams' disappearance and death.

Drug paraphernalia, including what appeared to be marijuana seeds, are currently being tested. Additional charges could follow once the results come back, but they would be misdemeanors."

Below are Links to the Court Record Events for Williams and Danish. These records are official court events as they are presented to the court in chronological order for the duration of a court case and can be checked for court case activity at any time.

These Links may expire after being posted, as scheduled by the court system, as they are direct Links to individual court documents vs. a Link to the Wisconsin Court system.

Don’t confuse the above records with the Charge Record and Case Detail Record for each individual, which can also be easily obtained by using the search options at the link below.

The Wisconsin Court link below and use of the search options allows anyone to find and view court records that are considered public information. Juvenile and Family Court records are not usually considered public records in most states.

:)

Hollyblue, Thanks .... I had just obtained all of the links through the court system before I posted them - my post following the one you quoted now has one expired also, both of them on Williams. I posted pdf docs, don't know if that matters or not. Danish's records seem to be still good, at least I can open them.

I will repost the Links. In the meantime for Case Details (not pdf) try :

I think the dog jumped in and tried to save Reena. I think the dog (or more than one dog since there seem to be reports of several?) was 'babysitting' Reena on more than one occasion, following her around and trying to keep her safe. I think the dog was more of a parent to Reena than the human 'parents'.

Anything new with these people?

Around half a dozen witnesses testified in court Wednesday. Some of them witnesses on the day that Reena died.

The preliminary hearing took about three and a half hours.

Danish plead not guilty to the felony charged. Williams stood silent when asked if he was "guilty or not guilty," according to the District Attorneys office.

A motion has been filed for the trial to be held in a different venue.

Is he going to plead guilty?

Is he going to plead guilty?

"Immediately after Kutz's ruling, Danish pleaded not guilty to the felony charge of child neglect resulting in death. Williams did not enter a plea on the same charge. The judge entered a not-guilty plea for him."

From the same article in my post above.

With the judge denying the dismissal of a felony charge of child neglect resulting in death during Friday's hearing, the case against Jenna Danish moves forward.

-----------------------

Kutz told the parties he would take the motion under advisement and may rule on it during an April 9 status conference. Rennicke's motion for change of venue is also pending.

http://www.kare11.com/story/news/cr...entenced-in-childs-death-by-neglect/19483443/

A Wisconsin couple was sentenced Monday morning in the 2012 death of their daughter, whose body was found in a canal on their property in Danbury.

Jenna Danish, the mother of Reena Danish, was sentenced to pay court costs and serve one year probation after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor count of neglect of a child.

Her then-partner Thomas Williams was sentenced to five months in the Waushara County Jail and three years probation after striking a plea deal on one count of felony neglect of a child resulting in death.
