Source: Police were ready to arrest Terri Horman over plot to kill her husband

On June 26th, the landscaper, who has been cooperating with authorities and was wearing a wire, met with Terri and an undercover officer. Police were prepared to arrest her if she implicated herself but Terri cut the conversation short, the source told KGW.

This tells me they've got nothing on her. I think a lot of people believe LE has tons and tons of evidence, but I don't think LE has anything. Maybe some inconclusives or even deceptions on her polygraphs and some inconsistent cell phone pings, but I really don't believe they have much more than that.

At this point, LE can't even verify that Kyron is deceased, which means they have no physical evidence against Terri or anyone else that implicates them in his murder.

IMHO, the only thing they've got with regard to the murder-for-hire is this guy's word. If they had real evidence against her, she would've been arrested already.

So based on that article, TMH did not implicate herself in such a plot when the landscaper (wearing a wire) came to her house w/the undercover cop. What that tells me is they do not have enough evidence/proof to make charges stick. Obviously if TMH (or anyone) had tried to make a deal to have someone killed, that person would be arrested. DUH! That goes without saying, really. Whether it was the very first conversation this topic came up or there were several before that, they still need proof. And they don't have it.

Agreed. Just said it on another thread, if they actually thought she'd bite on something this obvious, then I'm really worried about their lack of evidence. That attempt they made just seeemed desperate to me. A child would know that was a set up!

That was a really dumb move by LE and as a result they are looking like the keystone cops. I mean, how OBVIOUS can they get that they were trying to set her up?

Are any news channels going to be covering anything today? And when is the family supposed to speak to media again, anyone know?

Both Jane Velez-Mitchell (Issues) and Nancy Grace will cover the Kyron Horman story on HLN this evening (7:00 and 8:00 EDT, NG reprise at 10:00).

Hi SleuthyGal, It must be they had to do it a certain way for it to be usable and court worthy, eh?

Although it really is beginning to look like LE has nothing to arrest her with, maybe they are just waiting to see if somehow she leads them to Kyron. Maybe they still have a plan? :( Doesn't look good though!

I would guess coverage of Kyron will be minimal with Alisa Maier's abduction. That is going to be the top story and it is the top story on Nancy's site. Kyron's case has essentially turned into a soap opera on the national media... though if D and T do have a press conference that might be on.

However, it is still within the first 24 hours for Alisa and a confirmed abduction so I would hope they would give her the majority of the air time at this point. It's pretty critical for her.

No.

I'm going with no.

It's feeling too circus-like for an arrest, frankly.

Let's hope I'm wrong...and in that case...I will have some pink cotton candy and a ringside seat.

Well I think Jane and Nancy are probably going to, if you consider those news shows.
After Lindsey Lohan of course...she was sentenced today.
And I think Desiree is supposed to speak on a local station at 5pm, probably Oregon time, ktvl.com, I think.

I'm going to say no, because there's no Kyron and the focus needs to stay on finding him. They did a great job of keeping the pressure on with the current twists, but if they're going for "perfect" like Gates said, then it's not time yet.

:twocents:

JMO I think since she's hired an attorney, she's seeing what kind of deal she can work for herself before she gives up any info. JMO IMO MOO, etc.

I will be surprised if there is an arrest anytime soon unless LE has a great big surprise in store for everyone, which I am not feeling...not with the begging for Terri to 'fess up from Desiree...

I love how one of the choices on poll here uses the word "unclear"...as if anything at all is clear in this case :(

This case is so sad and bizarre. I don't understand why people can't walk away and start over rather than inflicting pain that ruins multiple lives. This situation reminds me of the Michelle Young murder case and how Jason Young acted when he wouldn't ever talk to the police about his wife's death. He remained silent throughout a civil suit that stripped him of his assets and then gave up custody of his daughter in order to avoid taking the stand. Thankfully, he's now been indicted but it took years of police work for it to happen. I hope a resolution comes more quickly for Kyron's parents.

Poor Kyron...what that poor kid must have gone through living with this (unusual person). It's no wonder he was so timid, and didn't get out of bed until someone went and got him. It's so terribly sad.
