"The 30-year-old has limited parental rights,
and her two children are in foster care.
We confirmed that the woman gave birth to her third child at the hospital in Nowa Sól in 2021.

According to the information we have,
Mateusz J. did not imprison Małgorzata immediately when they met.

Social workers from Leszno knew about her abusive partner and suggested separating herself from him.

'According to the information we have,
it was not a story that someone grabbed this woman from the street and imprisoned'
- we hear from the MOPR in Leszno."

Thank you for the updates! This helps to answer, somewhat, my previous questions.

We wonder where the information that the woman had been imprisoned since 2019 comes from, since she only escaped from the municipal intervention and readaptation center in mid-2020," we hear from the director of the Municipal Family Support Center in Leszno.
So maybe it was 4 years and not 5

" 'Her physical condition allows for discharge'

As we learned at the District Hospital in Głogów,
the patient will leave the ward where she has been since last week on Monday.

The Prosecutor's Office has prohibited doctors from revealing the 30-year-old's condition,
but we were told that
'her physical condition allows for discharge'.

It may take much longer for her to return to good mental health.

As we have heard,
Social Welfare Centres
from Leszno and Głogów have been cooperating on this matter for several days.

She lived in the former many years ago, and is currently residing in the latter.

It is likely that on Monday,
employees of the District Family Support Centre in Głogów
will indicate the place to which Małgorzata will be transported.

There, she is to receive professional psychological care."

Is anyone else surprised the hospital staff didn’t dig more deeply into her previous injuries-/ especially the one requiring surgery?

I’m just glad she finally felt comfortable alerting the doctors!

Hospital answers:

"This was not the 30-year-old's first visit to the hospital.

However,
she had previously vehemently refused when the staff, seeing her bruises, wanted to notify the services.

'The woman came to us with injuries indicating that she may have been subjected to violence.

Each time,
she was interviewed on the subject.

And each time,
she swore that no one was using violence against her.

She categorically refused to notify the services'
-
emphasizes Ewa Todorov, spokeswoman for the District Hospital in Głogów.

She explains
that if the patient is an adult and not incapacitated,
the hospital is obliged to respect her will.

Now, in the Głogów hospital,
all medical documentation concerning the victim of the Głogów torturer is being checked."

She either had Stockholm syndrome, or feared retaliation by him in some way. Either that, or he had tricked her into thinking it was somehow her fault?

Has any news come out about who she was prior to these events occurring? Where did she work.....etc.....etc.......?

From my country's MSM

"Horror in Gaiki.

'Behind the drama there was great love'

Łukasz K. from "Mój Głogów" portal managed to talk to the victim of Mateusz J. -
'Behind this drama there is a story of great love.

She left her two children for him and this love also made her dependent on him.

When she freed herself,
she was afraid of how she would function'
-
he told Onet.

The 30-year-old's abandoned children are 7 and 9 years old.

By court decision,
they were placed in the care of relatives,
and the mother's parental rights were limited.

According to 'Onet',
the father (or fathers) of the children are unknown.

The woman, probably while she was already imprisoned, gave birth to a third child.
It was given up for adoption.

Mateusz J., 35, will be jailed for three months
on Friday.

The man has been charged with, among other things, abuse with particular cruelty.

He has pleaded not guilty.
He faces up to 25 years in prison."

When more info appears,
I will post it.

This sounds like serious victim blaming to me.

This sounds like serious victim blaming to me.

That is how it is reported.
That is what she said herself.
Nobody blames the victim.
They present facts.

I only send translated reports.

Before the victim was imprisoned,
they were the pair.

Social Services talked to her trying to help because he was abusive.

Even in hospital she refused to inform authorities.

It is all sick :(

PS
I think I will stop following this case.

I wish the poor woman to recover with the help of professionals.

And the deviant perp to rot in prison.

“Malgorzata was allegedly taken to hospital several more times over the course of the four years after the suspect broke her arm, then her leg, and last year when she was admitted to surgery with a damaged x (redacted by me as very graphic, IMO)

“On Tuesday, she was in hospital once again with a dislocated shoulder and was able to alert doctors, who called the police.”

Is anyone else surprised the hospital staff didn’t dig more deeply into her previous injuries-/ especially the one requiring surgery?

I wonder what she told them happened each of those times. It's usually the first thing they ask.

I'm grateful that here the police do not need the victim's permission to arrest and charge in dv cases. Wish it was that way everywhere.

Not surprising as there is a lot of that stuff that goes on in online dating. It's just the state of dating. I think it's better to stop paying attention to this case as well.

Sad update...

"There are also some complications in the investigation.

On Friday,
the woman was supposed to be questioned in Court,
the Prosecutor planned to conduct a site visit with her participation,
but the current situation does not allow for such activities -
District Prosecutor in Głogów said.

'She was discharged from hospital.
She was supposed to be taken to an Intervention Center,
but ended up in a psychiatric hospital'.

It is not yet known when the on-site inspection will be conducted.

Much depends on the woman's treatment process.

Investigators are keen to conduct the procedure
'as quickly as possible'."

Well yes its sad Dotta,

But maybe for the best that she is evaluated by professionals before giving evidence in court.

And it sounds like the property will be searched urgently.

Seems to me (from little and conflicting accounts) to be an appropriate response from authorities. Lets hope so.

Did her family wonder where she was, did they look for her, report her missing? If she had children, surely someone wondered where their mom was??
