MELBOURNE MAYHEM: 1 dead in frenzied terror attack
Nov 9 2018
"Cops say a Somalian immigrant, Mohamed Khalif — who goes by the name of Hassan Shire — crashed his truck on a busy street, hitting a pedestrian and then tried to set the truck on fire.

The suspected terrorist plays cat and mouse with Melbourne cops as his death machine burns in the background.

Inside the Holden Rodeo were gas cylinders for a presumptive car bombing designed to slaughter dozens on the busy sidewalks.

After Khalif emerged from the vehicle, he then stabbed three men — one fatally — before his quest for martyrdom ended with police bullets."

"In Israel, it's hard to enter a supermarket or a bus station without passing through a metal detector. Britain responded to years of politically motivated bombing campaigns by Northern Ireland's paramilitaries by installing closed-circuit television cameras on every street corner. Today, the country has a CCTV camera for every 11 people.

Armed guards, police security patrols, safe rooms and sophisticated surveillance systems are now routine measures deployed by Jewish synagogues, schools and restaurants in France following a wave of anti-Semitic attacks that began decades ago.

Hungarian synagogues are linked by a centralized, rapid "early warning system" that alerts Jewish prayer houses in the rest of the eastern European nation of an attack.

Japan removed trash cans from subway stations and local parks following a Sarin gas attack by one of its citizens that killed 13 people and sickened thousands. Its security officials concluded they were a good place to hide incendiary devices.

Australia made sweeping gun control measures after a man killed 35 people with a semi-automatic weapon in a popular tourist area in 1996. The country banned rapid-fire guns and offered to buy prohibited firearms. Research suggests it's worked."

Gunman kills 4, then himself, after Mass at Brazil cathedral
December 11, 2018 5:15PM EST
"RIO DE JANEIRO -- A man opened fire in a cathedral in southern Brazil after Mass on Tuesday, killing four people and wounding four more before taking a bullet in the ribs in a firefight with police and then shooting himself in the head, authorities said.

The shooting happened right after the midday service had ended at the Metropolitan Cathedral in Campinas, a city about 60 miles (100 kilometres) north of Sao Paulo.

“It's so sad,” said Wilson Cassante, a press officer with the archdiocese. “It's hard to imagine the pain this has caused.”

Hours after paramedics were seen taking bodies and injured out of the church, authorities identified the shooter as 49-year-old Euler Fernando Grandolpho from Valinhos, a nearby city in the densely populated state of Sao Paulo.

Grandolpho, a systems analyst, was not a member of the church, authorities said. According to public records, he had held various jobs with government entities, including a stint as an assistant to the prosecutor in the public ministry in Sao Paulo.

Authorities said they had not determined a motive."

A 20-year-old Somali national arrested last week in Bari on terrorism charges allegedly wanted to stage an attack at St Peter's Basilica in Rome at Christmas, according to wiretap recordings.

Mohsin Ibrahim Omar, who also goes by the name Anas Khalil, is believed by DIGOS special security police in Bari to be linked to the Islamic State (ISIS) in Somalia and to be in contact with one of its operating cells. "December 25 is coming," he allegedly said in recordings contained in case documentation.

"The 25th is Christmas... the churches are full. "Let's put bombs in all the churches of Italy. Where is the biggest church? It's in Rome?," he said, according to the wiretap, apparently referring to St Peter's.

Somalo affiliato a Isis: «Mettiamo bombe in tutte le chiese italiane»

The 25th of December is now approaching. "25th is Christmas...for Christians...the churches are full". The 20-year-old Somali arrested in Bari for terrorism was planning to put "bombs on all the churches in Italy", starting with the "largest", St Peter's Basilica in Rome, and was planning to do so at Christmas. It is one of the phrases intercepted by the Dda of Bari in the context of Operation Yusuf on the alleged Somali terrorist Mohsin Ibrahim Omar, known as Anas Khalil, who was stopped last Thursday while trying to escape. The gip (*) of the Court of Bari has validated the measure "on the references to the elaboration of possible hostile projects in relation to the upcoming Christmas holidays and churches, as places frequented only by Christians."

Wondering if this is connected to the drones at the UK airport keeping planes grounded? speculation.

Al Qaeda plotting catastrophic new plane attacks in 2019, security minister warns

A "resurgent" Al Qaeda is plotting spectacular new attacks on passenger jets and prized airport targets in 2019, according to a senior British minister.

British Security Minister Ben Wallace said UK intelligence agencies believed Al Qaeda has been steadily developing improved methods to beat airport security and get bombs on planes to create a "blue riband" cataclysmic event.

Speaking to The Sunday Times, the UK security chief referenced the foiled alleged Etihad bomb plot at Sydney airport in 2017. He also highlighted how terrorists could in the future deploy deadly armed drones to bring down commercial planes.

Nach Oberleitungsschaden: IS-Flagge an S-Bahn-Trasse in Berlin gefunden

After the damage to an overhead railway line in Berlin-Karlshorst, the police confiscated an IS flag and documents in Arabic along the route. The extent to which the secured objects are related to the damage of the overhead line is still being investigated, police said on Tuesday. On Tuesday morning, the police had again inspected the area along the Regio and EC lines in the direction of Warsaw. A torn holding rope and a damaged supply cable had been discovered there on Sunday.

First the "B.Z." reported. (online) reported that about 60 leaflets with Arabic characters and an ISIS flag had been discovered near the damaged overhead line. A throw anchor should also have been found.

The state security suspects a political background, as the police announced on Monday. There is a suspicion of a dangerous intervention in rail traffic.

It is also being examined whether there is a connection to a dangerous intervention in rail traffic at the beginning of October on a railway line between Nuremberg and Munich. A steel cable had been stretched over the ICE line near Allersberg. In the incident, a train was damaged and nobody was injured.

A coloured threatening letter with several black-and-white copies in Arabic had been discovered near this crime scene. The investigators consider a link between the crime and the terror militia "Islamic State" (IS) very unlikely.

Sure. Why wave an IS-flag if you aren't serious? For the fun of it of course! The same goes for sabotaging railways. Perhaps the perps were disturbed by someone carrying and IS-flag along the railway. These things happen, but that does not mean there is a direct link to ISIS or any of the thousands of jihadists who have returned to Germany.
