Just saw a Facebook post about Bonnie on the following Facebook group Buried Cold Cases: Little-known unsolved murders & missing persons cases

A woman named Cynthia Dort found out via Ancestry that Bonnie is her biological mother. Tracking down her birth family she discovered that both Bonnie AND her 4 year old daughter Tammy are missing. They had not been reported missing prior. Bonnie gave birth to Tammy sometime in 1964.

According to Cynthia, the last time anyone saw Bonnie and her daughter Tammy was in 1969 when they left Denver, Colorado for West Virginia. Bonnie's brother stated he received a letter from her in 1977 but noted his memory is far from reliable.

Also, the police have told Cynthia that Bonnie's social security number has not been used since 1969. I wonder where they got the date Feb 13, 1983 from?

I think i found the reason for the Feb 13, 1983 date for Bonnie. She did mention on the comments on Facebook that detectives are comparing DNA from an unidentified body found in WV, I assume what might have happened is the person entering the information for Bonnie on NamUs accidentally entered the date of the Jane Doe that they were comparing.

@Cynthia Dort
Welcome to WS Cynthia. We will do everything we can to assist in finding out what happened to your mom.
I have copied/pasted Tricias post with info regarding the verification process. I was unable to quote.

“If you would like to add yourself as an expert in a certain field or as an insider to a case, please send an email to wsverify@gmail.com

If you do not wish to be identified as an expert in a certain area, we ask that you refrain from answering questions that are specifically directed to those that have been verified as specialist in their area and that you do not claim to be a professional in any area.

If a member posts with "expertise" please check to make sure they are on this list. If not, please do not take their post as professional information, but rather just as another opinion; much as you would with any member of the general posting membership.

Locals who are describing the area or are members of the gyms and that sort of thing do not need to be verified.

We only verify people who know the players or have been named in the media, etc. This does not include people who may befriend a player on internet social media and then wish to post about it.

If a member wants to post as a professional (a lawyer, shrink, and so on) or as a local/knows the people involved then they must email us at the following email: wsverify@gmail.com

Please include:

The case
Your Websleuths name
Your phone number and a good time to call
Your real name
Location (City and State)
In the subject line please put your user name and which case you are asking to be verified on

All info will be kept strictly confidential.

Thank you!”

I’m also curious as to what that final letter to her family said. Were there any clues as to her intentions, state of mind? Was it actually her that wrote the letter? MOO

ETA: Her SSN wasn’t used for 8 years? That makes me think she was not the one that sent the supposed letter. What was her relationship with her brother like?

Who was the last person to see her in Denver?
