I just heard about this KA case for the first time recently, via the Yahoo article.

Though I know that in some cases people just "skip town" & leave their old life behind for various reasons (bad relationship(s), financial issues/debt, etc.) - I suspect this didn't happen here. KA had jobs & a life - and I also don't believe she would have left her dog behind.

Given that KA was last seen in a casino parking lot, I wonder if her disappearance has anything to do with a criminal going after her re: any possible $ she may have won while there?! I suspect that criminals/thieves would especially target people in casino parking lots late at night - especially if they're alone.

If not foul play, another plausible explanation is that she was tired when driving home/to another casino late at night, and ended up in a body of water somewhere. I remember reading about two cold cases like this that they uncovered in late 2021; so, apparently this happens more often than we think.

In fact, I lean towards an accidental death being the most plausible reason for her disappearance - given that her credit cards weren't used after she vanished; no calls were made from her cellphone; and, also her vehicle still hasn't been found. Granted, all three of those elements taken individually don't mean that she wasn't the victim of foul play. However, I think that the three combined make it more credible that this was an accident.

Hopefully the truth will come out at some point.

Chaos Divers, an Illinois-based underwater recovery dive team, found the bodies of Brian Goff, 64, and Joni Davis, 55, inside Goff’s light blue 1990 Oldsmobile Delta 88 beneath the surface of the Ohio River on Nov. 11.

Jacob Grubbs and Mark St. John, divers with Chaos, located them. Grubbs said the couple was found while the dive team was searching for another missing person.

“It’s an honor to work for the families and try to bring lost loved ones home,” Grubbs said.

“We were actually searching for Karen Adams at the time.”

Adams has been missing from Hancock County since 2007.

To follow-up on my last post, I just heard the very informative & compelling "Missing Podcast" going over KA's case. Several points:

1) KA had been gambling for approximately 14 hours before she disappeared. It's unclear if she was winning or losing.

2) At some point during the evening of the last night she was seen, she called her brother (on her cell phone) from the casino - to let him know what she was doing.

3)The reason the podcast suspected she was abducted/assaulted is because at some point after either 3:01am or 4:01am the morning of (the last day she was seen), her cell phone pinged in OH - which was the opposite direction of where she lived. I.e., she had work that day (starting @ 7:30am), so she would presumably have been going in the opposite direction in order to get to work.

However, in and of itself - I don't necessarily believe that the OH cell phone ping meant she was abducted/assaulted in the parking lot of the casino. I.e., I think it's possible the ping occurred when she was in her car & driving in the direction of another casino. Now, why would she have been going to another casino early in the morning on the day she had to go to work?! Well, if she was a compulsive gambler, she may have been on either a winning streak - or a losing streak - and wanted to go to another casino (possibly) & try her luck before going to work. IMHO this isn't extremely far-fetched.

As someone who used to (rarely but occasionally) stay up/out all night, I know that if it gets to the point where I only have a couple of hours before I had to be up for work, it's sometimes not worth going to sleep at all - given that it wasn't going to be doing me that much good. Instead, I preferred staying up, going to work, and then coming home that day & going to sleep early.

So, I still think it's very plausible that KA - despite being extremely tired after gambling & being awake for a long time, decided to drive somewhere else where she could do some more gambling.....and may have had some kind of an accident along the way.

Baahahaa @Laughing !! Nice to see some activity on this thread. It always catches my eye because Karen Adams is the name of the girl who has been my very best friend since preschool. Of course, it's not the same KA but still - just kinda gets me.

On Monday, the Chaos Divers of Southern Illinois were back in Jefferson County to take another stab at closing the book on some decades-old mysteries — the Ford extended cab they believe belonged to Hanlon being one of them.

They’re also on the lookout for a 2005 Suzuki Forenza that was driven by Karen Adams, a teacher’s aide and department store cashier from Independence, Pennsylvania, who disappeared March 11, 2007 after a night of bingo at Mountaineer.

Details of Disappearance

Adams was last seen on March 11, 2007. That day she left her home in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania and went to the Mountaineer Gaming Resort in Chester, West Virginia. She used her credit card there, then apparently left at 4:00 a.m. Security cameras showed her leaving the parking lot at 4:31 a.m., and she last accessed her cellular phone voice mail at 4:35 a.m.

Adams never arrived home and has never been heard from again. Her red or maroon two-door 2005 Suzuki Forenza with the Pennsylvania license plate number EDT5587 remains missing. Her cellular phone and credit cards haven't been used since her disappearance.

Adams didn't usually leave without warning and her family doesn't think she would have abandoned her dog, whom she cherished. Her brother, who lived with her, stated she had a gambling problem and that he had repeatedly asked her to stop spending money at the casino, but she kept going and saw gambling as her favorite form of recreation.

Adams worked two jobs, one as a cashier at a retail store and one as a teacher's aide for disabled individuals at the Allegheny Valley School. Her case remains unsolved. Pennsylvania police are investigating.
