Has anyone been able to find any info on the assault charge?

(Not trying to get anyone to do my legwork for me, but I'm on hubby's work computer until I replace my pc, so can't really sleuth.)

I thought "Heather" wasn't going to be charged? And I thought NMF didn't have any violent charges filed?

Personally, I do not find it credible. First, I don't do facebook. Second, it is the internet. Third, if Charleston PD confirms that there was a report, then it is credible. Finally, it is still the internet.

I guess, if someone contacts the facebook poster and has a "real" conversation with them, I will defer to that person's credibility assessment.


Depends on the season.

Quick googling and deer-archery starts Sept. 26. Deer-firearms basically starts Oct. 22. Deer season basically ends in December. Boar is about the same. Turkey is Oct.-Nov. Migratory birds (ducks, geese) look like Sept. - Jan.

You're right about the internet, trexian. We can wait for confirmation by LE. But it just struck me as credible. The guy described NF as soft spoken, almost feminine, and this was posted to the news site's FB page before the video of the traffic stop in TX was released.

I wish LE would make a plea for folks to check their hunting cabins like LE in NY did when searching for those escaped prisoners. I guess we will find out if anyone has found evidence of homesteaders once hunting season begins.

MK, are you talking about the charges against NF's dad? I haven't heard of any assult chgs against NF or Heather.

In my opinion, NF went there to rob Heather since he had no money on him. I can't imagine having the presence of mind to rob someone after such a vicious assault. In the 911 call, it's clear she is very upset from what I hear in the background.

For those playing the genealogy game in this thread, I have proof that the Matrix recycles data. There are certain resources that list a "Ray Falls" in the vicinity of Beckley, WV, which according to google maps is just southeast of Charleston. The dates are all wrong for "our" Ray Falls, but what a stinkin' coincidence!

Speaking of genealogy, I'm not entirely clear on the propriety of linking directly to certain personal information. But, we all have access to google. In Ray O'Neal's obituary, there is reference to a sister, who lives in Oak Harbor, Washington. Actually, there are 2, but I started with the first one. There is a page for an amateur authors' group that lists a member with her name. There is even a picture of her. To my untrained eye, there is even a certain family resemblence. But, in her bio, it states:

[FONT=Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif]I attended eleven different schools and lived in forty-four houses in all parts of our country.[/FONT]

That strikes a familiar chord. This lady would be, I believe, NMF's aunt.

Also, apparently one of her stories involves abduction.

Again, could be a total coincidence. But not like the "West Virginia Ray Falls" coincidence.

IMO Heather wasn't up to robbing NF after what happened to her.

Heck, where's NF's CLOTHES? Where's his toiletries? If there was evidence that he was sleeping in his car (sleeping bag) why would he remove his clothes and all personal items yet leave the sleeping bag? I find it strange that he at the very least wouldn't have his license on him. With all the times that guy was pulled over (and have you ever heard of anyone being pulled over so often in your life?) you'd think he'd be accustomed to being stopped and showing ID. If he was up to shenanigans, the last thing he'd need would be to be pulled over again and not have any ID on him.

No I've never heard of somebody being pulled over so many times in my life, Ghostl8y. That made me LOL!

I also wondered where his stash is. He has to have other clothes somewhere. He either buried them on a backroad somewhere where he stopped to sleep, or squatted in a hunters cabin or they are in a locker somewhere. Do truckstops rent lockers? With all the traveling he did he had to stop for a shower somewhere and I suspect he stopped at truckstops. JMO.

No no...I was reading here and trying to do a few other things, and I misread a previous post by Stillwatersc that listed the July assault along with NF's traffic tickets, permits, etc. I didn't put 2 and 2 together on the date. My bad. Sorry for the confusion.

My impression was that Neal did have a drivers license on him. Here's a quote from the Charleston News on the day of the incident:

I've been working on identifying the items in NMF's car. Unfortunately they don't show pictures of the back seat or front floorboard, so, we have some limitations about knowing what he had with him. However, they did post a good picture of the rear of the vehicle, and many of those items can be identified. They also posted pictures of the tools/weapons with number cards beside them, but the image of the rear of the vehicle shows more items than those pictures.

The items in the image are now numbered and there is a of list of those items that could be identified, and those I couldn't. You may notice that my eyes see an item in the backseat, and I have placed a yellow line around what I see and numbered it 24. Perhaps that is just a mirage, I don't know.

Is anyone able to identify anything else, or correct anything on the list?

There's an unnumbered object under some of the others on the left side of the photo. What appears to be a handle with a strap is next to the laundry detergent, it goes under the vest, and the tip is under the container of wipes. Well, no, that's part of the lug wrench. But the handle isn't.

ETA: I also think some of those folds of black material under the vest are part of a different object, not the vest. Looks like maybe a black nylon windbreaker.

1 could be a spray bottle.

Yes, look up thread for the machete I identified. It is in the other numbered pic from LE. The unique spur on the handle is in the lower left of Btown's pic.
