This is so sad. Both mothers have lost a child:

Family travel vloggers share video they believe shows Gabby Petito and Brian Laundrie's van around time of her disappearance

Bethune said she spoke with Petito's mother, Nichole Schmidt, via FaceTime on Sunday. She said Schmidt thanked her for sharing the footage.

"We had a very good cry together from one mom to another," Bethune said.
OMG!!
This just made me cry even more.

Bless the Bethunes for contacting FBI and sharing their video with them that helped find Gabby.

Fly High pretty lady !!!

Your energy and love of adventure shone through your photos, videos' and blogs.

Prayers for her family as they mourn the loss of their daughter and prayers of strength as they learn the details of Gabby's last day(s) on earth.

Prayers that the Laundrie family members step up to the plate and do the right thing.

To everyone who thinks the Moab PD did a poor job, what outcome did you expect? A poor job would have been spending a few minutes to give Brian a ticket (potentially adding to stress and negative outcomes later), taking Gabby's word for it that she's ok and blowing off the situation as "just two people arguing". like many on this thread.

It was called in because it was two people loundly arguing with phisical contact, Gabby being pushed out of the van and having to climb back through the window. Imagine that in your head for a minute. It is not normal and it is concerning and to anyone with sense looks like a toxic problem. LE may have recognized things in Brian that they didnt want to provoke for Gabby's sake. and they did the right thing by separating them and leaving Gabby in posession of her belongings, phone and means of transportation.
In my state, as in many states, officers not only separate the parties, they also provide them with resources such as domestic violence hotlines and how to obtain an emergency order of protection. JMO

But to your point, there is not one shred of evidence to suggest that BL killed her. None, zilch.

Except for him fleeing across the country in her van.

Except for him not reporting an event in Wyoming, and not reporting her missing when he arrived home.

Except for him and his family callously ignoring communication from her parents, wondering where she was.

Except for him refusing to tell law enforcement when and where he last saw her.

Except for him taking off, and hiding like a coward.

Except for her body being left to rot where they were camping.

So let me ask you this:

Are you kidding me?

Did anyone watching the live feed see a larger tent that looks to be a full covered one too - not the white “top-only” one being set up during the feed. Can someone help me with what I saw, as I only was able to watch a short time? Thanks.

Was she buried in a dry creekbed, potentially of which he hoped one day she would be underwater? They say it's a remote location but it feels very open with people relatively close by. IMO, she died there and that's why she was buried near there.

Poor Gabby. );
Awful thought. Maybe she was trying to run away from BL and had reached the other side of the wash when he caught up to her?

I was willing to call it a lover's spat until I found out he was willing to pay the campers for a $200 ride for 10 miles, that he doubled back to van and booked.
He paid to lead them away from the scene of the crime.

I do hope they took his money. Small consolation but at least he was slightly poorer.

How awful. Condolences to he family.

unlike a lot of you, if BL did it (of course he did), I hope he has done himself in or an alligator got him. I have no need to hear his story, with the self justification he would use. Every murderer who is dead makes the world a better place as far as I’m concerned. Certainly a safer place .

I don’t hope he’s hurt himself. If he is in that park and not alive, I hope it’s because a gator got him and it was painful. Otherwise I want him found alive and made to live through all this so it can torture him every day.

Rest in peace Gabby, this is so heartbreaking.

I fully believe that Gabby was a victim of reactive abuse. The body cam video is a clear indicator imo of having Gabby retaliated to her abuser, standing up for herself, and BL managing to successfully convince the responding officers and Gabby herself that she was in the wrong. Emotional abuse and gaslighting by BL could have caused Gabby to become convinced that she had ocd, anxiety, and was mentally unstable. Emotional abusers are very manipulative to not only their victims but those around them, they can convince anyone even LE in cases like this that the victim is infact the aggressor.

This type of gaslighting can be devesating as the victim feels like no one will believe her because look what a ‘nice guy’ he appears as on that footage. When you look closer and are looking for red flags though they are all there. BL took on a Chris Watts like stance at some points, He downplayed his own actions and deflected the blame right onto Gabby, made it sound like she was ‘irritated by small things’ ‘nothing could be out of place’ when IMO in reality he probably purposely made a mess and irritated her on purpose to provoke a reaction, then he could turn around just like he did and say ‘she scratched me’. Meanwhile, Gabby is distraught because she feels guilt and shame for reacting to him, she is convinced that she is the aggressive one who overreacts.

It is hard to put into words just how debilitating emotional abuse can be for a victim, the abuser strips away your identity and sense of self, until you feel like you are going mad. They convince you that you’re neurotic and that you need some sort of psychological help, abusers disguise their abuse as caring about you, especially in situations where the police get involved.

BL saying he tried to ‘calm her down’ by locking her out of the vehicle is an example. Locking someone out of their own van (and probably threatening to drive off and leave her there), would not calm anyone down, especially someone who is already upset, in a place she doesn’t know well and who’s only travelling companion is her abuser who is getting enjoyment out of how far he can warp her sense of identity and well being.

All MOO and JMO..

In theory, she had to have died close to where she was found because if he had transported her in the van from another location, cadaver dogs would hit on the van, correct? (This is based on my possibly incorrect assumption that they used cadaver dogs when they examined the van)

I can't picture him luring her out there to intentionally kill her. Sorry, maybe some of you can, but I can't. I can see a "crime of passion" type murder based on what we have learned about their relationship dynamics. I can see an "accidental" death (arguing, slapping, pushing, she falls and hits her head...something of that nature). Suicide, while I don't see it as probability, it is a possibility.

This was IMO a toxic, codependent, destructive relationship. Tragically it ended in a beautiful young woman's death.

IMO MOO

Brian Entin reports that the statement, made via the family’s attorney, said:
“The news about Gabby Petito is heartbreaking. The Laundrie family prays for Gabby and her family."

Its fairly clear BL told them what he did and minutes later all of them lawyered up. He should have tuned himself in. They made a very bad decision and in the process savaged the hearts and minds of her family, this country and the world.

The heart is seizing up and bleeding out...here's a Bandaid.

Pretty sure this family will be condemed if they didn't offer their condolences, and if they did offer their condolences. They are damned if they do, and damned if they don't.

Pre-judged.

Moo. I have a hard time accepting that the spot they put the tent is where her remains are located. Even the most hardened grizzled SAR veteran wouldn't stomp all over remains the way they were doing. I think the tent is a staging area for the coroner to work and the remains are where that group is standing so still
Later in the footage, those people walk off and nothing is there.

I am to arrive in Grand Teton tomorrow. I had hoped by the time this trip arrived, Gabby would have been found - safe. If not, I hoped to maybe run into her on a trail, where she was soaking up a a carefree and youthful experience in an off-grid adventure, and was simply having so much fun she forgot to phone home. Sadly, it was not to be.

I feel torn as I begin my own bucket list trip to the same places Gabby hoped to visit. She will never see Yellowstone or Glacier Park. Or anything else a young woman dreams to see or do.

I had already planned to do a short hike in GNP in memory of Jenn Coleman, who loved hiking, but recently lost her life to the perils there. But I don’t know much about Gabby. She had bookmarked some hikes. Maybe she liked to hike, maybe she really didn’t. She liked to take beautiful photos and document her travels. I will do the same, and if I see or hear anything noteworthy about the case while in Teton (and have cell service) I will try to share back here.

And although it is late in the season for it, I really hope I see a beautiful butterfly to photograph in memory of Gabby in this beautiful picture.

Fly high, Gabrielle ‘Gabby’ Petito.

@steeltowngirl I am so glad you are going. Your energy and kindness will be spread there and help start the healing. Have a great trip and be safe.

That's what Chris Watts said, "one mistake shouldn't define the rest of his life", saying he should be released so he could proselytize more easily outside of prison. At least this creep BL didn't have any little girls to take it out on.

Chris Watt's case was unbearable...the ego on that guy. Killing his beautiful pregnant wife and two daughters the way he did was vile and cowardly. He could have just left. "One mistake." He threw them like trash.

I feel sad that the last video we have of her is in police bodycam footage crying and being distraught and upset after getting pulled over by LE because of her arguments with BL.

And when I think how BL managed to hoodwink those Utah cops and play it all cool and pal like with them....grrrr!
I wish they could've said "Why is your girlfriend so hysterical and upset, what are you doing to her?"

Suspicions should've been raised, but weren't. And the cops were talking about arresting Gabby and putting HER in jail!!!

I just can't.....

If you're not signed into FB which i don't do, this video doesn't play. It clicks right out. Anyone else experience this?

Now reporters on ground in FL saying the search for BL did not end earlier in the day and that it is only ending now.

I'm not experiencing that (I can watch/listen) and I don't even have a FB acct. I know.... *gasp!!* o_O

"Like so much debris" is exactly what happened.
And whatever story we get from B will be bs, provided he's caught. The bottom line is G was a bright star who fell to earth fast. Those of us on WS who saw the dynamics, saw the dynamics, & posted about them. Hopefully LE will learn about DV from this bodycam, & a woman in the future will be saved as a result. I'm just so, so sad right now, like all of us.
No excuses for him and his family who let Gabby stay concealed, hoping, IMO she would be dispersed by animals before he was charged with anything. The utmost in cowardice. Rotten to the core. No redeeming virtues.

How cruel, so very cruel to treat Gabby, her parents and step parents, and her FIVE LITTLE BROTHERS AND SISTERS LIKE SO MUCH DEBRIS.
