Normally when a cause of death isn't released, it's because they are waiting on toxicology.

They called this a homicide though, so I think they likely do have a preliminary cause of death.

So it's possible they are waiting on tox to release the official cause of death, or maybe the coroner wants a second opinion or something.

They definitely don't want to screw this autopsy up with everyone watching. I bet they are getting several opinions. Didn't even think about the tox screens though! I'm sure they'll find some marijuana in her system.

I'm not asking WHY he went home ... I'm looking for a sourced confirmation that he WENT HOME.

I found this link. Nichole Schmidt, Gabby's mom, is quoted as the source. However, I don't believe there was a sighting of him in Florida during that time, nor has the story been picked up by MSM. You have to scroll down the article to find the reference.

Boyfriend of missing Gabby Petito returned to Florida alone 10 DAYS before she was reported missing | Daily Mail Online

"She's also questioning Brian's trip back to Florida in August to help his father move their belongings out of a storage unit.

Brian left Gabby in the Fairfield Inn in Salt Lake City and flew back home to Florida from August 17 to the 23 to help his father empty out a storage unit where he and Gabby had their things.

According to Schmidt, Brian's father offered to let them keep their belongings at his house so they wouldn't have to pay for the storage unit.

He left Gabby at the hotel so she, understandably, wouldn't be alone in the van. Brian then flew back to Utah and they left the hotel together on August 24.

Schmidt now wonders why it was necessary to move Gabby's things during their road trip and what became of her stuff.

'Where are her things?' she asked. "

Imagine what would have happened had she been jailed...

She might stop covering for him. Witnesses would be called in. etc. The true story would be revealed.

He wanted to offer to go to jail to keep her and the witnesses from squealing on him.

He didn't offer to go to jail out of chivalry.

IMO it wouldn't have mattered. In there apparently dependent relationship, it would have served as proof it was her fault. She might have had a good cry, and then become more dependent.

IMO the shelter should have been the one following threw and making sure they intervined. I don't think we can depend on law and jail for intervention.

"Losing his memory is just a theory. Traumatic events can certainly cause people to black out periods of time. The memory loss would explain some of the odd actions of both him and his parents. It may be a stretch, but I find it an interesting line of thought."

IMO, this doesn't happen as often as it seems. This is a very common claim by killers, and those claims are often suspect or proven false.

Sometimes evidence will show the killer remembered, maybe based on their actions or things they themselves have said

All of this goes back to social media. Gabby and BL living the "Van Life" was an Instagram thing, a way to be famous and project an image of a happy couple on the road, doing hipster stuff like hiking barefooted, eating granola, posing for cute pictures. But it's not reality. Most of what we see on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube is staged for effect.

So being stopped by police while having a fight in scenic Moab was a nightmare, not just because of the emotional upset, but because it directly conflicted with the image Gabby wanted to present on Instagram. She was never going to give up her dream over what she thought was a temporary mood of BL. She was in denial about his true nature.

A more mature woman would have just given up and started driving home alone to Long Island, even if she was nervous about driving. But she clearly wasn't to that point, even if other people could see she was in a toxic relationship. Plus he kept taking away the keys.

She also could have asked her parents for a plane ticket home to New York when he flew back to Florida and worried about the van later.
she saw him at the hotel, not on a plane. He could have driven/been driven. Crossing the border in a vehicle is not difficult.

When was the last time you crossed into Canada in a car. I've done it, it's harder than you think.

Thank you for all your hard work to look this up and confirm the dates.

I feel they would have left as quickly as possible, if preparing for a get away/hiding. What I haven't worked out in my brain, is how would they cover their trail? With electronic technology/tracking, door cams, license plate readers, etc. it would take a great deal of planning and maybe others are involved

Mutiple news outlets refute this and say it was the following weekend. Obviously could be incorrect. We could also be going off neighbours who just wanted to be on TV and no camping trip happened

I have been catching up on this case. In the earlier threads, people were wondering if GP ever had a job. Well, I found out that she lived in Carolina Beach, NC, and worked in Wilmington, NC, before moving to Florida. If this had already been mentioned, I apologize. I live in North Carolina, and I was surprised that Gabby had lived here, too.

Didn't the Laundries return home again followed by the LE caravan that earlier escorted them away from the home? Do I have that wrong?

I am wondering about this too.. do we have confirmation that they are really in Orlando?

No way. She would have just got out the next day and gone onward with him. Just days before she died she happily told s store clerk they were engaged

I don’t remember where off the top of my head, but that quote and explanation from her mom was widely reported, I read it in several places, not just in the DM, which I rarely open links for.

Someone further up located the exact spot, Google Maps has the exact same tree and window that you can see. It's in Orlando, probably on page 25ish?

I understand what you're trying to say, but the fact they ignored any attempts of reaching back out to GB family is telling IMO. And also, everything else. MOO

That does appear like a lack of compassion and it could be.

It also could be many other things that we do not know about.

It is how you want to paint the picture based on your interpretation. You may be correct on how you see it.

I know there are.a few Landing strips. Very small one I know is very close out in Rotonda! Private.property small.landing strip I'm sure there are.more!

an arrest doesn't prove guilt.

Curious, sorry if it's been addressed.

They've been using helicopters for days to search for BL, usually on the western side of the reserve. There was just a Cessna doing circles nearby on the highway where it is split and has retention ponds. Is there a reason they would be using a plane for this instead of a helicopter? Different tech on board?

N610HP Flight Tracking and History - FlightAware

I was watching the wfla live yesterday and they said that LE is not using helos for the search bc the forest/scrub is so thick that they can’t see anything. The helos circling during the day are the news choppers just watching the search, not LE.

now, the sheriff co. Helos at night…not sure. They have done a few short passes over the area around 10 to 11 pm the past two nights.
