I think he is alive and well. I think the longer he gets away with hiding, the bigger his ego gets. He will slip up, he will eventually be found. He cannot hide forever.

I don’t agree that he is-but I do hope that you are right. It would make me very happy to be wrong

I've been giving this a lot of thought over the past couple of days. I remembered a segment on my local news about how good dumpster diving was in NYC.

Not just for the homeless to pick on, but families coming out at night and using large black garbage bags to collect good food that may have expired for the restaurant rules and regulations, but the food was perfectly good.

There are a lot of resources available in the city for the homeless especially during the winter months. A lot of homeless shelters, soup kitchens, panhandling, and dumpster diving. It could be a perfect hiding in plain sight scenario for BL to get lost in the city.

Those who are struggling in some way are all about how to survive themselves on a daily basis and don't really pay attention to what is happening to other people. He could get a cot and a hot meal every night and spend his days with a empty coffee cup looking for handouts, or riding the subways to stay warm. There are 9 million people in a very small city and he could easily submerge himself into that world without being spotted, at least in the short term. JMO

The homeless population has a lot of “eyes” on them. Street corners have many vehicles and buses constantly going by who notice and observe panhandlers. The subways are crowded with commuters, not to mention the many transit staff. Soup kitchens and homeless shelters — these are places that have rotating social workers and counsellors and volunteers in a helping role and it’s 24-hour service in those places. Usually the homeless are forced to be outside during the day and when they’re not on the street, they go to different kinds of shelters at different times of the day/night to eat or to sleep/rest. The police serving that part of the community are often involved with the homeless population in one way or another. Storekeepers get to know them because they are often panhandling outside of busy stores on busy streets. It’s not as if homeless people are invisible. I don’t believe he’d last long in that scenario without being recognized.

This is my thinking as well.

How do these online bank accounts work like.Chime!
Ppl.can open bank accounts without ever entering a bank

Yes, indeed they can but their bona-fides still have to be given by the customer and verified by the bank:
Full name & residence address (not a P.O. Box No.), SSN, mother's name (usually), signature, etc. No pictures or anything, but the info is checked and if things don't check out, the bank will close the account if the customer does not correct whatever problem is found.
I'm a retired banker, and banks have become very strict about "knowing your customer, " etc.

Another day, no Brian. This checkmated search is feeling about as long as the Siege of Leningrad.

She was only 22. This has all the pathos there could ever be, really. Oh she was young, and it was such an ambitious trip to take, ... It's a big country, mine too, driving all over it, there are long stretches of either collegiate silence or the terrible tension of said and unsaid invective or the savage snarl of someone at the end of their tether... Brian was /is obviously ill equipped to deal with being denied , and , as Gabby so poignantly put it, even her apologies were said 'in the wrong tone'.. who can survive that kind of grinding down, when even your apologies, given to untense the situation, not because you did anything wrong are 'in the wrong tone'...??. .... It could not have all been merriment .

I don't know what preparations they made , did they do a course on mechanics and tyre changing and electronics for the van?.. There is some hint that she was a bit rushed, that he wanted her to leave her job and just take off...

And at 22 that's what one does. Done it myself. She can't be blamed for that. And should she have known what Brian was about?.. hell no, Brian doesn't know what he's about, although, if he's alive, he has a good idea by now of what he is about, I guarantee that.

I am sure that if Brian is on the run, lots of people will be speaking to Brian 'in the wrong tone'.. how he copes with that remains to be seen, but whatever personality flaws and disorders Brian had at Grand Teton, he has them today. Nothing generic changes, and his circumstances are a lot worse than what provoked him to murder his friend now than they were back then.

That last paragraph.. indeed! SO well said Trooper.

@SuperTmo, do we know if it was Gabby or BL who edited the video content and created the youtube video? It looks like someone else took her recent Instagram photos, then she posted the pics.

Gabby's father stated, in the Dr Phil interview, that he was on the phone helping her through the editing and production stages of the youtube video.

I actually have no recollection of anyone saying he was trying to leave her. And if he was, where was he going and when would he be back? She admitted that she did not want to calm down. Why?

Not in the bodycam footage. The part of their story where BL is in the van and Gabby attempts to get into the van from the drivers side because the passenger side is locked. He essentially locked her out of her own vehicle while he was inside. He also had the keys = means to drive off without her.

Who cares why she didn't want to calm down. She had every right to be upset.

ETA: BL DID leave Gabby in the end. He left twice!

What kind of B S is this though!? Everything BL said he was afraid of... that's what HE did to Gabby! He took her van and phone and keys and tried to leave her.

Gabby stated that BL kept telling her to calm down, he was belittling her vlogging. I also suspect his feet and the flies they attracted were driving her nuts.

He was victimizing her. She should have let him drive off with her van and reported it stolen.

If only...

The parents of deceased Gabby Petito, Joe Petito and Nichole Schmidt, visited North Port, Florida, over the weekend to take home mementos from a makeshift memorial for their daughter at city hall.

“Goodbye Florida …thank you for showing us so much LOVE!” Nichole Schmidt tweeted Sunday with a photo of a cloud in the shape of a heart. The city is expected to take down the memorial on Tuesday but will put a permanent memorial bench in its place.

The Petito family on Saturday retrieved a handmade plaque calling Gabby “America’s daughter.”

I saw that guy on cnn. I believe him. jmo
The "recently found" campsite was stated by someone close to the BL family? Wow. What does that tell you! He's not there, obviously. All of this has been a ruse (as so many web sleuthers have already commented). If they started this rumor, it states the obvious. They started the other one about BL going there in the first place. I mean, they did remove the Mustang.

That article is dated December 06, 2019 12:46 PM. Were you trying to reference a newer article? They haven't ID'd the body found on the Blue Ridge Parkway yesterday, AFAIK.
It's not him. The person who found the body said it's definitely not him.
