I hope you're right - but last I heard, we really didn't know when the women were murdered (maybe now we do) as their bodies weren't found for five days after they were last seen. So BL would have to have had an alibi for several days; maybe did did -
We don't know but LE knows.

Well, he said he wanted to go to "Jackson" and offered a large sum of money for the ride. We know he didn't mean Jackson, WY because he got out when he understood that's where his ride was headed. Jackson, ID is a 5.5-6 hour drive away which would make the the offer of the 200 bucks sensible. It's also on the Snake River, which he said he'd been following:

jackson idaho to grand teton national park driving at DuckDuckGo

Maybe someone else recalls when that sighting in Idaho was. Perhaps they went to Idaho after leaving Yellowstone. If that's the case (and I'm only speculating), these are long distances.
I understand why it's confusing. But he asked to go to Jackson, and freaked out when they told him they were going to Jackson Hole (could have meant the ski resort/village area IMO). Also, Jackson, WY would have been about 10 miles as she describes.

"He approached us asking for a ride because he needed to go to Jackson and we were going to Jackson that night. So I said, ya know, 'hop in' and he hopped in the back of my Jeep," Baker said. "He offered to pay us like, $200 to give him a ride like 10 miles. So, that was kind of weird."

Baker said when she mentioned to Laundrie that they were driving to Jackson Hole, Laundrie "freaked out" and asked asked them to pull over and he exited the Jeep.

Baker said they let him out near Jackson Dam in Grand Teton National Park.

I think he took her for a long hike with the intentions of waiting till she was asleep and then took off as fast as could back to the van and left.

That would be so heartless and evil. It’s definitely possible but I hope that’s not the case. :(

Trust me, there is absolutely no way he meant Jackson, ID. Not even a remote chance as far as I'm concerned. If you say "Jackson" anywhere in Wyoming, Idaho or Utah, 100 out of 100 people would take you to mean Jackson, WY. The Idaho town is virtually unknown outside of Cassia County.

I just can't think of any other reason he would freak out. Do you think the van was at Jackson Hole and the people dropping him off were staying there overnight or for extended time and would see that she wasn't there? Or ask to meet her? So he was hoping to go to Jackson Wyoming in a random location and walk to the van himself so he had no one know the location ? Maybe thats why he brought up that the location was in the middle of nowhere, to deter them from wanting to off-road ?

A couple of years ago, Angela Hernandez miraculously survived for a week after a horrible incident in which her car plunged off a cliff in Big Sur, CA. She was able to drink water from a creek in the area. Survival against all odds is remotely possible. However, BL not reporting GP missing, returning to FL with the (her) van, immediately hiring an attorney, and refusing to answer any questions really tells the story for me. MOO.

Nix to the Big Sur case: it's a much more hospitable climate.

I love Chief Winder. I have a picture of him and my LE Detective step son in my family room. My family has all of these confidential jobs and they never share anything with me! Family dinners would be slot more interesting if they did. Sigh.

"Let’s just be clear. He looks guilty as hell,” said former Salt Lake Co. Sheriff and Moab Police Chief Jim Winder.

If he just did something to GP why would he even mention her to the couple giving him a ride.

Maybe as a precaution, maybe he wanted them to think she was alive and that he han't seen her in days. Meanwhile, he had been back on the hiking trail where he'd hidden her body days prior. He wanted to collect the tarp that might have tested positive for his DNA.

The "No Connection Between the Cases" presser means that either they believe they have solved one or the other cases - or they are talking through their hats.

It might also mean that they have GPS information of their cell phones and confirmed video alibi of them being somewhere else during that timeframe.

If TTvid with Baker hitchhike PU is legit, BR's conversation with them really sends me back to the buddy buddy conversation with the cops in Moab. Only here it was different context with B.S. on top, get me in and out of this vehicle where I can still hike back to white van stash location, within daylight, and hit road for 36 hours straight to FL. (if in fact he arrived on 9/1 is a FACT).
