How do we know he wasn't professionally diagnosed? That information isn't going to be made public, so we will probably never know.
There is absolutely no source for it. Even if it happened, it's not like the FBI releases that information (ever). If there's a major leak inside the FBI, there's no source for that either (and it's a very serious charge, so people should think twice about saying such a thing, IMO).
I'll be glad to be proved wrong - by a link.
I wonder if SB requested LE accompany the Ls on their search?Maybe it was 2 NPPD officers and one of them was the FBI liaison. Still, why did L's need escorts if the park was open to the public and the search had concluded? jmo
Is it possible that he smothered himself with a plastic bag over his head?Sadly, I don't think there's much or any soft tissue available in Brian's case. Maybe some cartilage, which can be useful.
Drug use might show up in the marrow chambers and in any hair that isn't degraded (a long shot, in this case, I think). Gunshot wounds that are self-inflicted are fairly easy to demonstrate and very few murderers are able to replicate a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Plus, of course, there should be a gun nearby.
I keep wracking my brain about other possibilities. Drugs or guns seem the most likely. This whole case is so very sad and my heart goes out to both families - but also to the forensic people who have to figure things out, it is never a cheerful job. With luck, maybe a suicide note will turn up. Not sure Brian thought in that manner or was capable of direct statements that aren't open to varying interpretations (judging from his other writings). Two bright lights extinguished.
Because the police know the press and rando's are following them everywhere? People with a few screws loose? They likely wanted to prevent an incident at the park involving the L's, the press, and the "protestors" who are hounding these people. NPPD made a good call by being there.Right. Why did police feel the need to be there with L's ? jmo
Certainly. A high school friend killed himself that way. He put a plastic bag over his head and taped it shut around his neck. Sorry, grim I know.Is it possible that he smothered himself with a plastic bag over his head?

Yep.Has it been 100% verified that the remains are Brian Laundrie's?

IMO, if anyone had of found BL, they would have turned him in for the reward $$.I completely agree! I have learned so much from the variety of opinions on this forum. They have made me consider things in ways that I may not have considered previously.
For me, a big part of the BL mystery, is how long was he in the area where his remains were found. Did he go there the first day and stay and somehow successfully hid from searchers or did he travel different places for weeks and eventually end up back at that spot. The only thing that could tell us how long the remains have been there is the time of death.
As crazy as events have been in this case so far, I would not dismiss the possibility of someone else killing BL and depositing his remains where they would eventually be found. IMO.
It's only my theory.. That he called them, when he went missing and then went back to the campsite, ( On the way back , offering $200.00)... I think he not only called them but cleaned out the bankcard as well. He is flush with money.Apologies if this is not what you're saying, but do you think the Laundrie's told Brian to use Gabby's card to get home?
Agreed! If the Laundrie's discovered BL's belongings and remains without any witnesses present, they would surely be blamed for "planting" them. It was also fortunate that a reporter was there to film their discovery. Even with LE and a reporter present, there has been speculation that they somehow put the items there. As I mentioned previously, the quick, purposeful way that CL went off the trail, into the brush, and came out with the bag does look odd, if not suspicious. But I can't believe he planted any items that day, and I don't think it's logical for him to have planted them before that area was underwater. However, it's possible, IMO, the L's might have known he had gone to that area. Possibly CL found BL the first night when he claims to have gone to look for him and BL refused to leave, perhaps telling CL he wanted to camp for a night or two before going home. All speculation. alligators, hogs, weird lawyers, mafioso, The Braille Police dept, what next??/
In retrospect YES! they found Brian after the search concluded and the park was open to the public. And police weren't even there to look for him, but to protect his parents from harassment. No instructions about not handling possible evidence, no gloves, just a walk in the park. jmoBecause the police know the press and rando's are following them everywhere?
