Exactly....and I noticed he is drinking from a plastic bottle on an Instagram post with his nephews. BL makes no sense and has an inflated opinion of himself.
He seams to copy things he's read or seen. He jumps on trends. There's nothing sincere or original. No outstanding accomplishments. Lots of BS, but with parents supporting him, letting him move Gabby in, working at Publix with all the money going toward this "vanlife" blog business. And that wasn't his thing either, that was Gabby's passion.

I don't think he'll take himself out. At least not until she's found, and with damning evidence. Just a hunch, I see him as a coward.

Completely agree. Now I won’t rule out as the proverbial noose tightens(LE) he could resort to that as a last ditch effort. But I agree he’s too self absorbed/selfish to do that now. After all if he was truly suicidal….why not just do it out west. Go out with G(assuming that’s what happened). I love driving but that’s a long trek to make by yourself if you are just going to off yourself anyways. Just as an FYI to everyone…. forgive the grittiness of this specific post. It’s late and while I’m still awake…the sugar coating part of my brain has retired for the evening.

If he was armed and a POI, would LE have to release that info for public safety?

What kills me is GP lived in BL’s parents house. How can they just stand by and not at least try to help? I know their son obviously is more important to them but geez. I can’t imagine turning my back on her like that.
I dunno. He's not a fugitive or anything, as they aren't looking for him in order to arrest him (as far as we know). Normally we hear that "armed and dangerous," phrase in situations like that.

We haven't heard about him owning a firearm in the first place, and I'd be a bit surprised if he did.

..The sheriff seemed confident that he knew the location of Brian, and I'm assuming they did know he was in the home at some point...
That's the slap-in-the-face busted in public part. Last night - Thursday - he was on television confidently stating he knew where BL was. Today we learn BL has "reportedly" been gone since Tuesday.

His family might have given him some cash before he left, but at some point he will need more financial support. How can his family anonymously continue to finance him? I'm sure every financial move made by his family and friends will be closely monitored by LE. How is he going to communicate with his family or his financial supporter? A burner phone? That can be traced also. If he takes any medications, how will he get those?
The only job he could possibly get would be for cash.

I don't see him being able to be on the run for long. Hopefully when he is caught, he will give Gabby's family some peace and honestly tell them what happened.

Prayers for Gabby's family.

His world of caretakers has gone poof. His parents won't be able to coddle him, hold his hand, and tuck him into bed. Gabby's gone. His whole life has changed and gotten very small. His fault. No one to protect him from those voices he hears.

I had a feeling no one had ever laid eyes on Brian. It was all the parents saying he wasn’t available. I bet the attorney has not seen him and was duped by the parents as well, IMO.

was he ever there? I’m not sure I think so. I can’t offer any reasoning but something is really off with the parents.
Ditto.

Someone has probably thought of this too, but I think he left her somewhere. Possibly in a remote area without water, phone, or anything. He could have went back there, but couldn’t find her. So he panicked and went home.

Just a thought that crossed my mind.

MOO
You may be right that he might not have the survival skills needed, but I think he believes he does. He's a fan of crime novels so he probably believes he can outwit the LE. He thinks he is one with Gaia and above the rest of humanity who has been killing mother earth. He's a barefoot hiker and a lover of the wild open spaces. He is one with all living things and a friend to the trees. I think he believes that he can lose himself in the wilderness and no one will ever find him.

I agree with all of this. He has an inflated ego, and continually mentioned to LE during the DV incident that he would have no problem camping in the wilderness alone.

I believe he attempted to do just that when we was found hitchhiking back from what he said was a solo camping trip in the wilderness around the 29th. I think by then Gabby was already gone, the van abandoned, and he thought he could just disappear into the wilderness.

Tough how that didn’t work out and he had to abandon that plan, and scurry back to the van via hitchhiking, then get home to mom and dad.

Now he has wandered into the woods again thinking himself a survivalist. He will either surface again and make his way home, or feel the walls closing in and take the Fotis Dulos way out.

If he does so, it won’t be out of guilt. It will be as a result of insecurity and fear of prison. He was shaking like a leaf during that dv stop-nervous, afraid of being exposed by Gabby’s statements, very afraid of being taken in. That turned out in his favor. I don’t believe that will happen this time around.

Yes US citizens don't have much restrictions except for maybe Australia and New Zealand.

Only immigrants and tourists who want to come to the US have restrictions.
I know this stuff like the back of my hand because I've been waiting for the ban to be lifted for so long so that my parents can come visit me.

He might need to show negative COVID test for certain countries and wear a mask in flight. That's about it.
Do any counties allow entry without a negative test? Airlines require it to board an international flight.
The US is open to tourists, you just need a negative test, they say to "self isolate" for 7 days but it is basically an honor system, unlike most of the world's requirements of 7-14 days in a designated hotel with two or three negative tests onsite.
Many countries are requiring vaccination to enter and some require you show $50,000 USD in your bank account in case you need medical care, most of South Asia is still completely closed to all tourism.

Reporting him missing could have been a strategy employed by the attorney out of guilt, or even the parents whose conscience may be starting to bother them. Once he's reported missing, this opens the door for law enforcement to start looking for evidence to locate Brian without a warrant (social media, phone records, etc) and without the parents having to state they think he's guilty or indicating they knew he was guilty from the beginning. It basically opens the door for them to cooperate without openly saying they support the criminal side of the investigation, then to change their stance and be supportive once something is "found", if that makes any sense.

While the legality of using evidence found during the missing person search may or may not be fully admissible in Gabby's case, accessing Brian's phone and social media could give them a lot of insight about Gabby's whereabouts or where to look for more evidence.

YOU ARE SMART.

This is an interesting thought. Though to your point, I wonder what the legality of any evidence in this would be towards the Gabby portion. For example, if it were to be considered inadmissible in anything related to Gabby, could this be a ploy to *help* BL through a legal loophole? IANAL so I have no idea. Totally speculative. OOMB

….Josh Taylor saying ““We have never spoken a word to brian” makes me really wonder HOW THEY KNOW HES EVER BEEN HERE? Just the word of the parents and lawyer? I’m so confused. Is BRIAN being home in FL with the van on Sep 1 confirmed, or not? Can anyone answer?

Trying to backtrack. Please help me out establishing whether police firmly KNEW he was here or just heard that from his parents/lawyers?

3 Days Ago: Gabby Petito disappearance: Van found at boyfriend's North Port family home
  • “According to police in North Port, the van was found at the home of Gabrielle's boyfriend's parents. In a statement, North Port PD said, "We currently have no definitive information that a crime took place here in North Port. With that said, the circumstances are odd. The vehicle she was traveling in was located here in North Port. So, we are actively gathering local details and any evidence to assist in finding needed answers. North Port police spokesperson Josh Taylor said they are not ruling anything out, including that Gabrielle may not want to be found.”
3 Days Ago, also: Gabby Petito disappearance: Boyfriend 'refusing to tell Gabby's family where he last saw her'
  • “North Port police joined the investigation, assisting agencies across multiple states to find out what happened to her now that her boyfriend and the van were located Saturday at his North Port family home.”
Sep 16: A Young Woman Vanished On A Cross-Country Trip. Her Boyfriend Is A Person Of Interest
  • “The boyfriend, Brian Laundrie, returned to their Florida home in her 2012 white Ford Transit van on Sept. 1 — 10 days before Petito's family reported her missing — according to police in the Gulf Coast town of North Port.”
Can anyone find the actual clip of law enforcement saying that? Imagine if they literally missed looking into the veracity of that, because it “wasn’t a crime” yet….
I asked the same thing about confirmation that BL had driven the van back and if it was confirmed he was at home. Someone referred me to the Media thread which can be
just he said, she said. Long story short...I can not find a documented confirmation. And I've looked very hard for one.
