Virginia Hislop has spent a lifetime trying to increase access to education, and now, at 105 years old, she appears to have completed her own schooling.
On Sunday, Hislop celebrated Stanford University's conference of a master of art's degree in education — 83 years after having left campus just shy of the degree. Her son-in-law had contacted the institution and discovered a final thesis, her unfulfilled obligation, was no longer required.

Police were called when a melee broke out on a golf course near Vancouver. One party accused the other of deliberately trying to hit them with their shots.
The video shows one guy trying to do some kind of ninja kick and falling to the ground.
Some of them seem to have confused the rules of golf with rugby, or something.

The coroner later said the victim, 41-year-old Allen Ray McGrew, had ignited a large firework on top of his head. Witnesses told investigators he was wearing a large top hat, and put the firework on top of the hat before lighting it. The device exploded, causing “massive head injuries.”

Max Wade, the infamous Marin bad boy who stole Guy Fieri’s Lamborghini and attempted to murder another teen, was granted parole by a state board Thursday.
Wade was sentenced to 21 years to life in prison in 2014 for a teenage crime spree that earned him sensationalized coverage in the national news media—and even an eponymous rap song.
At age 17, prosecutors said Wade rappelled from the ceiling of a Lamborghini dealership to steal Fieri’s $200,000 car. He later fired a handgun into a pickup truck containing 18-year-old Landon Wahlstrom and 17-year-old Eva Dedier in a Mill Valley shooting.
