We have to endure this TWO more times. I wonder if ZA will testify at the next two trials? He has absolutely NOTHING to lose now as all he might have been holding on to is gone.

Sentencing will be swift tomorrow.

(I purchased two daiquiri's at the store, I knew I'd be celebrating or having them as stress relievers)

So - per Carly Gordon on WSMV Zack cried during the reading of the verdict.

And Cindy Adams stumbled and threw up in the parking lot - I do feel for Cindy Adams - you never stop loving your child

I feel for her too, I am sure she has a lot of guilt about it all. That is her child. He always will be. Hearing people think your child murdered and raped someone else must really make you question everything you did raising them. Lots of victims. Lots of enablers.

Her job is to protect her client and his rights. She did that. Zach would not have been able to hold his own, regardless of his education because he had said too much. The DA was very good but would be excellent given who the defendant is.

She gave him his say. But very difficult to do that when he talked so much. She had a losing case from the get-go...and. I think deep down she knew it.

Gotta say that if our judicial system was working properly ZA should have been in prison long ago but they kept letting him go. If he had sentences that kept him in prison Holly would still be alive. That infuriates me (I live in California and it is even worse here)

Look at Britt also...got only 6 years for rape but 15 for being a felon in possession of a gun. He should have been locked up permanently long ago.

I am relieved this is part is over and I wish Holly's family could soon move on without this looming over them daily. Oceanblueeyes, You said it beautifully --- if it weren't for the strength and courage of Karen Bobo and her determination, we may not be here. And she did it all with such grace.

I just wish they did not have to deal with more trials, and years and years of appeals with this one ... will be more :tears:

Don't know the laws but are there post-conviction deals that are done? I.e. ZA testifies against JA & DA and they reduce sentence to LWOP? Or even prison choice?

In the guilt phase there's a whole lot of Adams' history that couldn't be brought in.

But in the penalty phase they'll likely here more of his history. Yikes.

And for CA, in a way it must be doubly hard, because if ZA had not been convicted I think it would have made it harder to convict DA.

Questions

Will the sentencing actually be a small mini trial rehashing the evidence? Then after that it goes to the jury?

When do the other trials start? Has it been determined that those juries will be sequestered too?

She is setting him up for sentencing and appeal. His lack of formal education is second to his very good felony education--- in that he was well-schooled. Dicus refusing to look at the gruesome 4 gave Zach a lot of confidence that he would not be held accountable, hence Zach's big freaking mouth.

Defense atty maintains that ZA is innocent, and they just convicted the wrong person of HB's murder. Obviously the jury didn't see the evidence and witnesses in the same way she did (or me either, to be honest). But I hope and pray for justice more than unassailable witnesses and proof, and have to trust the jury got to the right verdict despite the path.

There are NO victimless crimes regardless of a "simple" break in or a murder. I had grand jury duty for a year and when you start recognizing the names of the defendants over and over because they are back on the streets it tells you that the judicial system is broken.
