GUILTY UK - Car drives into pedestrians at Liverpool FC victory parade. Man detained, 26 May 2025

Just 10% discount for the guilty plea, otherwise would have been 24 years. I don't like the way having a family is seen in any way as mitigating. Just because you have children doesn't mean you're of good character!

Yes, it's hard to imagine he managed to keep his temper in control for 30 years.

Of course it's nothing to do with LFC but it seems a lot of the victims have suffered financially and it would be such a nice gesture if they could offer some kind of support IMO.

Horrific injuries. So many people with broken bones. I'm thinking (hoping) it's going to be 25 to 30 years.

GUILTY UK - Car drives into pedestrians at Liverpool FC victory parade. Man detained, 26 May 2025

I don't think 16 years would be enough for the damage he caused. I think there are multiple aggravating factors that will increase the sentence. The fact he hit over 100 people including babies, children and the elderly, plus I think one was a police woman and one was definitely a paramedic...

“In part 10, we will deal with the defendant’s record of previous convictions." This sounds to me as if he has previous convictions? https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/liverpool-news/paul-doyle-sentence-live-liverpool-33037275

GUILTY UK - Hashim Ijazuddin, 21, and Saqib Hussain, 20, car crash A46 Leicester 11 Feb 2022 *Murder Arrests*

Mahek has just had her sentence cut from 31 years to 26 years. Sounds like the appeal judge has been quite generous to them all imo. Three of the others have had reductions as well. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c625j9w9x21o

British Bella May Culley 18, missing from Thailand, arrested in Georgia, May 2025

According to the DM, the prosecutors in this case are now seeking a 12 month custodial sentence. If true, substantial amounts of money must have changed hands, imo...

GUILTY UK - Car drives into pedestrians at Liverpool FC victory parade. Man detained, 26 May 2025

The same thing has happened in Grenoble, France, last night, with a car ploughing into PSG fans injuring 4 people. Not sure whether this has always happened or if it's a new thing due to overpopulation, and poor event planning, more awareness of events due to social media, increase in anger due...

GUILTY UK- Major incident declared in Southport after multiple stabbings, 29 July 2024

I wonder if his solicitors/ barristers knew he was going to do this.

GUILTY Bali - Bali Nine, Australians arrested for heroin trafficking, 2005

I'm so happy to read the final 5 have returned to Australia. I have periodically looked them up over the years and after serving nearly 20 years, I personally feel they have well and truly paid for their crimes. Hopefully they're still young enough to go on to enjoy happy and fulfilling lives...

NY - UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson fatally shot in Midtown. #9 *Arrest*

Below is a quote from an article linked on the previous thread (I couldn't reply as the thread is closed). "Mr Klein says he's been inundated with calls since Thompson was killed. Top US firms typically spend millions of dollars on personal security for high-level executives." Isn't the...

UK - Lucy Letby - Post-Conviction Statutory Inquiry

I've just had a look at the composition of the current Board of Directors for COCH and there are 17 board members in total, 9 female and 8 male. However, going by the names and pictures, they are all white and middle-aged. I know that despite that, some board members may be part of other ethnic...

UK - Lucy Letby - Post-Conviction Statutory Inquiry

I wonder if there is any potential criminal liability for board members?

UK - Lucy Letby - Post-Conviction Statutory Inquiry

Thank you Tortoise, for your summaries. I have read some of the transcripts and half of Dr Ravi's and it's truly shocking how these managers behaved. It goes beyond unprofessional - they seemed determined to protect LL at all costs, crossing multiple boundaries and breaching confidentiality by...
