Agree, and I think it is reasonable that parents check in at the kids’ cabin periodically. There was a still younger boy in the room as well, I think the parents needed to make sure everyone got back to the cabin at some point each night, at least the two boys who were children. Seems there was...
1.1 million dollar reward for a week or so now and still no arrest. Most would sell out their first born for that kind of cash. Only someone who doesn't need it and/or isn't interested in it..,
Agree, but now I realize that if that reward had been offered in those first days, yes, someone would...
It really is a wake up call that even with actual security video, and with widespread publicity of the video, and even with a reward, a criminal cannot necessarily be identified.
Hypothetically, if one was actually contemplating paying a $6m ransom for return of kidnapped person (had it been deemed credible enough/proof of life), then one might now see what a public $1m reward for location of and return of kidnapped person might do.
(NOT an equivalency, but as an...
It is a real issue. Sad example: Munich Olympics 1972 hostage crisis, that’s where live news coverage gave the criminals real time information as to where officers were located.
Your post made me think.
As a thought exercise - I can readily tell this is NOT one of my immediate family members, for example, nor other specific people I thought about just to try “recognizing.” But, I personally had to think of a person and eliminate them, I admit didn’t instantly get a...
My impression - he keeps not covering the camera part, his fist at first is aiming above it? If that makes sense. So he maybe didn’t know where the camera part was vs the light (?) on it. Not super familiar with how they work? So ended up just taking it.
Good reminder - there used to be public service info to plan ahead in case there is a fire at your house (like, think about all your home exit routes). I also read about an earthquake survivor who said - of all things - having shoes near the bed would have been good - he said there was broken...
Maybe (total speculation here!) there aren’t available federal *juvenile* facilities, or at least not available in that Florida area such that he can make appearances/meet with counsel?
I guess I’m imagining there aren’t that many juvenile federal criminal offenders, so maybe not many...
Just thinking about the ransom letter submitted via tip line - if an actual kidnapper for ransom (who would have to plan for kidnapping plus where to hold the kidnapped person - needs planning) really thought through the ransom process, and was savvy enough to:
(1) send “letter” via tip line...
If I’m understanding this correctly…. A online tip form (probably allows “anonymous” tips so you don’t even need to type in an email address to submit) … that might explain the random “letters” going just to news agencies, and not being sent to family or even to police department - eliminates...
Many years ago Eva Spanos was kidnapped from her home, taken to a bank and forced to withdraw money, and then was bound and gagged and hidden elsewhere. She was a similar age to Mrs. Guthrie at the time, and was fortunately found (safe) and recovered from the ordeal!
Her son owned (still owns)...
