I am not trying to excuse him, but curious to know what his mental health struggles are. Reminds me a bit of the Nicole Linton case in CA. He could’ve been hallucinating, delusional, entirely unaware of his surroundings. It’s a terrible horrible thing that has happened but I will wait to hear...

There is a fundraising page for them, made by the sister-in-law, that mentions that the wife is expecting….I hope she receives all the care and support she needs in order to be healthy for her child…just heartbreaking

This is my hometown, just about five minutes away. My kids are the same ages; wondering if we will know this family. I am shocked and so saddened.

I was a part of the 242 community for years. I am sad and sickened to see this. I haven’t been there in a while because of other concerns I had with the church - but this is still very disheartening to read. I am extremely glad they reported him so quickly, though!!!

Other than gaining some weight, I don’t see how she looks much different. She’s 38, most gain weight in their 30s due to hormonal changes etc. I’m by no means defending her, I just don’t see why her weight is being discussed so much. JMO

I’m not minimizing anything. I said there’s more to the story. And it’s been reported she has a mental disorder. Just waiting to hear more before making judgment.

It sounds like she had no trusted adult in her life, at least not in the country, as police reported that she had no ties to the country. I am also not trying to excuse her, but with no trusted adult nearby and a mental disorder, I’m not entirely convinced she knew her options or understood...
