What are the chances this is a thrill crime? Someone put great effort into planning and pulling this off. Maybe they aren’t motivated by the money, they just want to see if they can do it. Seems like they’re having fun with the media hoopla and playing chess with the fbi.
One thing nagging at me— they kept her disappearance quiet at first. I wonder if there was in fact a ransom demand early on. The sheriff was adamant that something was off, that it wasn’t a simple “missing person.” Something very blatant gave him that feeling, IMO.
I didn’t see a news story...
The longer this goes on, the likelihood of it being random increases. The people closest to NG are being scrutinized sooo intensely. The best and brightest minds, the most current tech, huge manpower… it’s being devoted to this case. They will find the person responsible but it might take some...
MOO— they know who this guy is, just have to physically locate him now. There was a LOT of info being released, seriously a lot. Way more than usual. I think the NYPD was strategically doing that to spook him and whoever he worked with. Trying to get them to slip up and communicate.
They say...
I hear ya. This is one of the strangest missing person cases I have ever followed, for the reasons you mention.
The parents mentioned they don’t want anyone else getting hurt searching in the interview they did.
My gut has always been he didn’t get very far. Apparently the friends went out to look when his FaceTime call died. It would be so quiet and still out there, he should have been able to hear them call his name.
Of course, there are cases where intoxicated people managed to get much farther...
I haven’t posted, but we have gone out and looked as recently as last week. I do believe he is still out there. From looking at the maps and photos, it’s like… this isn’t THAT large an area, it shouldn’t be hard to find him. Just get out there and walk.
However once you get on site, it is...
Random thought I had and I haven’t seen this mentioned… I wonder if he has ever had sleep related issues before? I read that people on the autism spectrum often have sleep problems, such as sleep walking. It could explain leaving the house without shoes.
I lean heavily towards misadventure with this one. The proximity of where he went missing to Oso Bay can’t be ignored, IMO. I think he’s in that water.
He was probably totally shocked right at first… to find out his 3 good longtime friends are all dead, and frozen in his back yard? I can’t even imagine the hysterics of that scene, especially with the girlfriend of the one seeing that and being there. If the police pulled him aside to talk, he...
The location of the black fence in that link is along the frontage road that runs past the 5/8 club. Back in there is Solomon Park. It’s not very big. Another body was found in there a few years back. People party and drink/do drugs back there so IMO, a body found would be much more likely to be...
Not to mention, if drugs are a factor, the police may have found some leftover at the scene (in one of the guys’ pocket for example.) A quick test of that could tell them immediately if it was contaminated with fentanyl.
Just something to note, my dad pointed this out to me on the map. There appears to be a skinny little strip of water running through the marshy area. He said he has come across this same type of thing while deer hunting (different area of MN, but same concept). Apparently these little waterways...
