Highly improbable that it was Barry with an accomplice. I’d be amazed – it’s the least likely theory and by a long, long way. One person (KW) claimed to think it was Barry and continues to make that claim. (That fact is interesting for other reasons.) The police initially seemed to think it was...
Agreed. Barry was an absurdly intelligent person, achieving stellar academic results. That’s already unusual but he was also cunning and wily. A rare combination. In business, he took calculated risks that would have seemed crazy to others.
But in this case: why? A moment of anger? Or planned...
I think the implication in the articles and podcasts was that the killer had extensive, detailed knowledge of the victims’ schedules and those of their close associates. And that is certainly a possibility.
But @fadeglitter made a point I agree with: it’s possible to unthinkingly attribute to...
Thanks, @dotr. So, unless there’s more that we don’t know, they’re following hunches and looking at possibilities – there’s nothing firm leading them on.
Agreed. It was this aspect I was referring to. Would like to know if this aspect of the investigation follows data suggesting a possible link with the murders or if it was being done because something may be revealed. I’m guessing the latter. I’m guessing it isn’t public knowledge but perhaps...
Agreed. It’s a tempting assumption and I see it in so many cases, including historical cold cases that have now been solved using genetic genealogy. In those cases, the killer’s planning was assumed by investigators to have been much cleverer and more knowledgeable than it was eventually...
Old but very good ten-part podcast, including interviews with family and friends. Mentioned previously on this thread, back when there fewer episodes available. There are episodes dedicated to interviews with people that Emma stayed with in the year leading up to her disappearance. Originally...
The disagreement between the head of Apotex security and JD is potentially significant. Would be interesting to get a clearer idea, which LE presumable has.
If HS was the primary target and BS wasn’t expected back this early (by the killer), that changes a lot.
The killer’s apparent knowledge...
This has come up previously. Jeremy Desai thought otherwise, saying it was normal for BS to work till 10:30 or 11 pm.
CANADA - Canada - Billionaire Couple Barry & Honey Sherman Murdered at Home, Toronto, 15 Dec 2017 #24
Neither the pair of gloves nor the helmet was found. Both were seen by a witness and both seem distinctive but all the police have are descriptions. By the time they arrived, the helmet, gloves and keys were all gone. (Source: the two video interviews above.)
I’ve thought of this as a strong possibility for some time. I wonder if the TPS believe it as a possible outcome, too. The absence of assistants and staff, the trips of various Apotex people, detailed knowledge of the meeting at home that night that Barry came back early for – it makes it much...
Aaron’s first cousin Nicole (her father and Aaron’s were brothers) is interviewed by Ed Dentzel for the Unfound podcast this week. It’s a good interview. She believes (and the family seems to believe) that Aaron’s keys, wallet and phone (which he was using the day he disappeared) were recovered...
Slightly off-topic but here in the UK, I realised a year or two ago that my subscription to Apple News+ covers the Toronto Star. Anyone who's a subscriber to that service gets to read the Star articles on this case.
