“I’ve never seen such a big funnel-web spider in the park for more than 30 years,” said Michael Tate, an Australian Reptile Park education officer, in the release. “We want to know where she came from, hoping to find a bigger spider like her.”

According to the release, the park encourages residents to safely catch funnel-web spiders and participate in antivenom programs. The spider is then milked and the poison becomes an antitoxin. The antitoxin saves about 300 lives annually.

Does this mean it's end times? I need more signs.

@IceIce9 you find the coolest things in this here world. Thanks.
Thanks! I thought it was cool too! Especially the part about how people collect the spiders and drop them off at drop off points on a weekly basis!

Spiders were submitted as part of the weekly collection at several drop-off points. It was in an unlabeled Tupperware container. The park wants to find out who the spider’s “mysterious donor” is.

“She is extraordinarily large, and if we can hand more spiders like her to the general public, more lives will be saved because of the large amount of poison they can produce. It will be, “Tate said
