02.22.2011 Big Springs Search of Landfill

  • #101
"Shawn Adkins, Billie Jean’s boyfriend is the only named suspect in the case.
Billie Jean says they are not living together anymore but they do talk regularly to support and encourage one another."

No longer reported as her ex-bf, soon they will be reported as living together again too , I predict.

I'm just waiting for a wedding announcement and/or a baby on the way. I'm surprised she hasn't eloped with him yet. Sheesh.

And is her name really Billie Jean? Does she have to ruin a perfectly good Michael Jackson song too?

And getting back on topic, have we heard if they found anything at the landfill yet? I really wish they'd make Billie look through it. That might change her tune.

Does anyone know how BD found out about the search? Why did the media first report LE wouldn't confirm anything found or not and that it would be a few days before we knew, To a few hours later nothing found?

I'm not buying the "nothing found". Kampfer knows more about the investigation than he is ever going to reveal to the media again. I think the Freedom of Information Act where cases like this are concerned do more damage to the case itself, i.e. info released so stories change.

I'd gladly let someone drag me naked through a prickly pear patch if Hailey is found alive.

Come on BD, give it up, tell LE what happened in that house after DD left. You and SA are the only ones that know. This is your DAUGHTER. She deserves your VERY BEST. Your allegiance to SA is no longer admirable, it's sick.

Isn't that same thing as confirming it? Sounds like it to me...

What do they say in "All the President's Men"? That's a Non-Denial Denial. :D

Dogs at the Big Spring landfill....are these stray dogs? Guard dogs? What, in the name of all that is Holy, is he talking about???? :banghead::banghead:

Well, The American Kennel Club just had their dog show so I guess it isn't that.............hmmmmmmmmmm, it must be a secret! Just joking. I feel your pain, Amster, it does look like LE could at least give that simple bit of information on this case. VERY FRUSTRATING!!!!!! I'll join you at the head bumping wall..........:banghead::banghead:

I don't think they are looking for a body. I think they are more likely to be searching for recently discarded evidence (clothing or a weapon perhaps).

I've been wondering from the very start if all of the "horror" masks are accounted for.

  • #109
I think what they were looking for had to be very specific. You just can't search a landfill in 6 hours. Not happening. Someone must have turned in a tip about a particular item.

I hope you're right grandmaj. I hope people are remembering things or learning about things related to Hailey and are calling LE with anything that might help find her (or can be used against anyone who might be involved in her disappearance). Unfortunately, it's looking even less likely these days that any information of value will be coming from those within Hailey's own home, imo...

On the Forensic Astrology thread Salvarenga posted "They started yesterday (2/22) around 8AM and pulled out at 3:34pm. I can be exact on the 3:34PM part b/c the person was filming at that time and that was from the time stamp on his video. He also was told that they actually searched that same landfill the day before (2/21) as well but he didn't have any times for that."

So LE may have snuck into the landfill the day before and did a little searching

So do we not have any good investigative reporters in West Texas? :banghead: Surly some one has got to have connections somewhere. It amazes me that this is a small town and like any small town the gossip flies. But this is being kept so darn quit is an amazement in itself. Not hardly a slip anywhere.....What gives?

I have been wondering the same thing!! Where are the locals???

  • #114
Anyone think they are getting close to an arrest?

I can't imagine SA would part with any of his masks!

Seems like LE hasn't really been asking for help from the public too much, in this case, Kyron's case or baby Joshua's case...which makes me think they know who they are after, but just can't prove it yet. And we have not heard any warnings in any of these cases for the community at large to be aware of a predator on the loose.

Meanwhile on Tuesday, City Manager Pete Kampfer answered residents' questions about the Hailey Dunn case on a local radio show.

Do they have a link for this radio show anywhere?

http://www.ktxs.com/news/26958088/detail.html

We can't tell you everything we know because we don't want to hurt the ongoing investigation."

Baum: "Do you feel like you're restricted in what you can release from those conducting the investigation?"

Kampfer: "There's definitely a restriction, and I purposefully don't know all the details so I can't answer them."

I am annoyed the spokes person is purposely not finding out details so he cannot answer them. I understand not being able to release some details but I find it maddening he does not even try to know what is happening and trys not to know. IMO.

It's an absolute joke, but I think there is a reason. It's MOO, but the sound of the voice in the 911 call "ritching" about BD being at it all day...sure sounded like the Chief to me--- from early videos. Maybe why the Chief has been kept out of talking to the media. Doesn't want too many people to catch that comparision. I'm not positive, but it's just MOO. It was a "light bulb moment" for me when I heard his voice in that early video. Just sayin'

Information that is part of a police or criminal investigation is not subject to FOIAs. The agency is not obligated to release anything.
