Annette says- we never thought it was a stranger, then didn't she say something like it had to have been someone who maybe seen her get off the bus or something- I mean I thought, well, if someone is watching her get off the bus- wouldn't that be a stranger, maybe I heard it wrong.

I heard it that way too..........after stating that they didn't feel it was a stranger, she went on to describe a situation that would be a stranger.

Just speculating....it is a small community and maybe she doesn't consider people who live in it as "strangers"....maybe she's just leaving open the possibility it was one of the many local RSOs or some other "local" person.

No, the LE have had to let them know, and they have via media, that this is someone really close, no stranger- Misty is not being truthful, they have even said they think Misty knows what happened to Haleigh- and this just doesn't phase them? Its not a sex offender, there was no picked lock like Ron said- Misty became a bride 30 days later after this mess- this child with a 7th grade education pulled the wool over the Cummings eyes, they just set aside the fact Haleigh went missing and welcomed her into the family, because she was just so good for Ronald?

I think not.

And its nice TN called in TES, it really is, but I believe that was to take the heat off of Ron beating up his brother in law and the rat- now with this information, they cant do anymore damage control-

possibly LE...maybe a lawyer...

in MHO...MC is guilty of something...no matter what, shes guilty of lying already so to me, anything is possible with her.

Problem is TM and MN was in the works before the rat incident occurred.

In the beginning, I followed this case intensely, but in the absence of any new information and just speculation, I put it on the back burner.

But............MC has bothered me from the beginning. Her changing stories, her phony tears, her evasiveness just doesn't add up to innocence. I feel she's either covering up for someone or she herself is guilty.

One of the things that's bothered me is one of MC's statements that NG played again tonight. Although I can't quote it exactly, in one of her early statements MC states she was like a mother to these children - that they looked at her as their mother - and she claimed she was good to those kids.

In the course of sleuthing this case, we learned that RC has a former girlfriend and fathered a child with her.......a child who's still an infant. MC posted on a webpage on MySpace and viciously attacked this former girlfriend. If I remember correctly, MC made comments about this former girlfriend being an unfit mother and threatened to take her child away........something along these lines.

MC was 17 when Hayleigh disappeared and she had lived with RC for less than 6 months. In this time, she seems to have moved in and taken over both of RC's children, and also has accused a former girlfriend of RC of being unfit.

I find this behavior scary..........taking over other women's children and promoting herself as a "better mother." This coming from a teenager who's been a part of the children's lives for just a matter of months.

All I know is that if it was splashed all over national news that my story was sketchy and I haven't provided an accurate account of my whereabouts and I had nothing to do with her disappearance, I'd be high tailing it to LE saying "please please listen to my story! I'm innocent and want to help hind her!"

But, that's just me . . . .

I get what you're saying, but if Misty has something to hide, she's not going to offer up any explaination about that night. My take is - Misty knows what happened at the home that night.

Not really... could be a neighbor, an acquaintance they know from church, school, the supermarket, any number of places. In a very small community, no one is really a stranger... you may not know their name, but you've seen them before somewhere. They may not be friends, just someone you speak to when you see them.

The perp could've worn gloves but obviously by LE making this announcement they have excluded any "stranger" from sneaking into the house and abducting Haleigh. No footprints, no strange DNA, no tool marks on the door, etc. MOO

Yeah, like the intruder who the parents say killed JonBenet Ramsey - able to be in the home, upstairs, downstairs and all through the house and not leave one bit of evidence - amazing strangers who can float through a place without a trace.
Gloves or not, things are disturbed when a person enters a room or a house.
I think the cops are putting the squeeze on Misty. I think what they need to do is question Ron over and over without Misty present and let their interest in him scare the heck out of Misty, who then might get her story together.

Annette Sykes saying she's not aware of what MC has told police - her comments seem evasive
Or possibly she was walking on eggs to not tick off Misty. It looks like this family is going out of their way to keep things peaceful within the family. We don't know why, but I'm sure they have their reasons.

When is Granny, TN and RC taking Misty to PCSO for questioning?
She only weighs 110lbs, pick her up, put her in the car and turn on the ignition....how difficult can it be?

How many people are afraid of this 110 lb little girl? Are you saying AS is afraid of her too...OMG!..We may have to start a list of fraidy cats.

Could be just simply that LE asked ask the family not to repeat any details given to them by Misty?
I suspect this is the case, too. They don't want to say what they know. Seems like they should have been given something to say, though, rather than just humming and hawing and saying they don't know...

Yep, yet she doesn't know any details of what MC told LE????

She certainly knows the details of what LE just said to the press. ...they just said she lied to them. They are asking for the public for information. Are you saying that does not include RC, TN an AS?

The ball is in GGMA's, TNs and RC's hands. It is their job to get Misty to talk to LE....all they have to do is drive her there. How hard can that be?

and yet, MC did not know Haleigh's date of birth on the 911 call. For someone that claims to be a "mother" to those children, that has never passed the sniff test to me.

I am beginning to think that the real reason Ron married Misty is to keep control over her so that she can not tell what she knows. If Ron was not involved in his daughter's disappearance and he thought she had something to do with it or was negligent, I think he would have tried to kill Misty.

That would also explain why he was willing to fight her family to keep her. If she is no longer controlled by him, she will tell. She is the weakest link.

Regards,

Montana

I think the Cummings family's only fear is if Misty bolts, they will have lost any opportunity to hear her slip up and say something that will shed some more light on what actually happened that night. And then they may not be able to find Haleigh.

They've had six months for her to slip up. She slipped up the first day. What is holding up RC from putting on his big boy pants?

I think this is why LE is now changing their strategy and finally starting to play hardball with Misty. It would make more sense for LE to do this and for the Cummings family to maintain status quo, IMO.
