So I thought the questions about her relationship with her parents were interesting.
Strained.

It was. It really leads me to believe even if they support her now that they butted heads over her BSing growing up. It's not a stretch to believe that Jodi has been pathologically lying like this her whole life. I loathe her family's behavior with regard to this case, but they must have had their hands full raising/growing up with her.

Me too, especially the slaps from her dad. She admitted as a teen she'd sneaked out, and when confronted the next day by her parents she denied she'd left. That elicited Smack 1. Dad asked for the truth again, and she again denied she'd left. Hello Smack II. Sounds like Jodi and the truth parted ways early on.
Yeah and this was supposed to be some kind of build up of abuse that finally unleashed...Sounds to me like her parents completely failed to discipline her before this incident - not like she was "abused" in any way shape or form. She basically back-tracked on the whole "I was abused growing up" bit that she started out with at the beginning of trial.

Sorry if this has already been asked....but...

WHO is the babysitter?
WHO is Gus?
WHERE is John Dixon's Art Gallery??

Thanks!
Babysitter = Mimi (girl going to Cancun with Travis). NOT a babysitter.
Gus Searcy ... a real <unusual person> friend of Jodi's that everyone dropped from testifying. Big time fibber: http://www.hlntv.com/video/2013/02/13/gus-searcy-heres-what-they-wouldnt-let-me-say-stand
John Dixon ... you mean the guy that was going to hang her art next to all those Monet's and Van Gogh's? lmao. Some dude she knew.

Sociopaths don't feel or understand jealousy. That's why she can so quickly state that she was not jealous. I don't think she was. TA threatened to expose her as a lying scheming sociopath. IMO - that's why JA killed him. He likely did "corner" her on her behaviours and threatened to expose her on the fertile PPL/Mormon "field of dreams" that she had found herself in! Lot's of alternate "targets" ready for the picking...He was threatening her livelihood (ability to move on within the same community) and as such, she had to obliterate him.

Absolutely ... the original point was, why doesn't she just say - yes she was jealous. This is something she can't do. In her mind this is an insult as in why would I be jealous of someone so beneath me (babysitter-Mimi). You see her reaction when jealousy is brought up. As you say she really doesn't feel or understand jealousy.

Just saw a clip of JA answering a juror question about why she took a photo of the t-shirt and shorts.

She explains that she was hearing rumors about her being obsessive, that her time was up soon (before arrest), she said, "I knew I would be arrested," and she realized that the clothing would 'look bad' but they meant something to her so she took a pic before disposing of them.

She KNEW she was going to be arrested.
She knew it was not a matter of 'if' but 'when'.
She probably knew these things from the first phone call with Det. Flores.

so...

She decides to buy a .9mm, hide it in her engine, pack her car with books, clothes and 2 hidden knives - and contemplate going on a gold-panning trip with 5 guys...

Who buys a .9mm if they know they're about to be arrested for murder?
Someone who's not afraid of the gold-panning guys, but someone who's preparing to flee.

In that answer, she botched the "why I got the gun" story, and decimated the gold-panning sketchy guys camping trip.

Leaving the one real scenario - escape.
jmv.

It does sound like she was never told "no". When dad finally tried to discipline her she left... Dunno

Correction: No she didn't fill up the infamous gas cans, just gas in the rental and this was at the Utah-Nevada border.

What? Utah doesn't border California.

Dr. Drew said the whole near death experience video is on HLN.com but I only see a snippet of it. Does anyone know if its available in full? TIA

Please help me understand why this story was a near death experience for Travis. I think of it more as a premonition. Set me straight okay?:

Would you like a map of the fricking country?!?!?!

This person says it's on the HLN timeline. Have you seen this timeline? You are pretty adamant that she didn't fill the cans on the way back. Has this come up in the trial? I didn't see all of the cross.

I would!

It's been a LONG time since I was in 6th grade geography class but... I always thought Nevada was between CA and UT.

Please share whatever it is you're going to smoke!!

Who was Jodi looking at when she answered the questions today? Did she look directly at the jury the whole time?

I wondered this as well. So far no one has answered.

I know that she was looking toward the jury's direction as she has done consistently while answering questions on the stand, regardless of who's been posing them to her.

The courtroom is reportedly so large that it's not usually possible to tell if she's attempting to establish/maintain eye contact with one juror in particular.

exactly. How hard is it to pull up a US map.... even if you live in Canada?

She could have filled up the cans in Utah or Nevada

I'm not sure as I haven't seen the whole video. But it sounds as if he's describing an incident where a gun was held to his head.

I thought about the sound of the gun in the bathroom also being especially loud because of the tiled floor and walls. I am so surprised none of the neighbors didn't hear a gun shot!

That could be a reason why Travis only sustained one gunshot wound. She declined to use the gun again because of how loud it was. She didn't want to run the risk of drawing attention to her crimes. Indeed, I recall from her interrogation that she mentions the loudness of the gun going off.

I got the impression he was talking about a real life experience he had when he was held at gunpoint? Do I have this wrong?

:laughcry: The horrible anger Jodi described of Travis hitting her car got questioned too. :giggle:

Turns out he was frustrated in Los Angeles traffic, and as almost any normal person does, stuck in traffic for any length of time, he yelled out his frustration at no one in particular and maybe pounded the steering wheel and door. Travis was normal, by probably 50% of LA drivers, but Jodi has an abnormal perception of what constitutes real anger and abuse, IMO.

Check with KCL on the Observer Thread (when she's done sharing her notes).
