what does the gas can thingy mean? I am so lost what it points to?

I'm not sure why she even had to lie about it to begin with (because one less can doesn't make her less of a murderer) but here's how I understand it.


She borrowed 2 cans from her Californian friend with a total capacity of 10 EXTRA gallons for her journey.

She did NOT want to make a paper trail to Travis' house so she did NOT want to stop at any gas stations and use her credit card and/or be seen on surveillance.

So she felt 3 cans (total of 15 gallons) could get her into Mesa then....immediately OUT of Mesa and into Utah without once having to stop for gas.

She claims she borrowed the gas cans to 'save money' because gas is cheaper in Utah. However, she originally bought gas for these two EXTRA cans in California, so there goes THAT excuse.

She later recants and says she just wanted extra gasoline in case she ran out and she found herself alone in the middle of the desert.

So....she's got a story for every single incident that's she gets cornered in because this trip cannot be seen as a planned trip! She claims the visit to Travis was impromptu. Last minute. (insert eye roll)

The State needs to prove premeditation and as far as I'm concerned, they have. And then some!!

There is no doubt in anyone's mind at this juncture that Jodi planned to murder Travis.
Well, I take that back. Perhaps if Travis conceded to take her to Cancun (hence the Sunblock lotion with bronzer she bought at Walmart) perhaps he'd be alive. But we're seeing a ticking time-bomb in Jodi so Travis probably would've wound up dead eventually.

So sad. This person needs to meet her maker SOON!!!

OK...the cut she said was at Travis's house. That's the margarita glass. At least that's how I remembered it.

She did say she cut it on a metal shelf at work on 5/31 I believe and took pictures of it. Then she said that she was putting the margarita glass at Travis's house away and broke it and cut herself.

That's my recollection anyway.

Why would TRAVIS have a margarita glass? He does not drink, and I would guess that no one in his life did, either.

That was my thought, that was the price of the rental car. She purchased it from priceline...
Which brings my next point... She said that she went to Redding to get the car because it was the first thing that came up in her search for rental cars when she searched the site... thats not true, when I type in Yreka, CA on priceline... I get car rental places in Yreka... and Redding don't even show up there, its more than 25 miles away.
Such a liar...

It isn't the car I don't think. There is a purchase of $233 something from Budget in Redding a few transactions up...

No he proved she filled three cans so she lied when she claimed she only had two. It strengthens the premeditation case and reminds the jury her pants are ablaze.

She knew it was another 'gotcha' moment too.

.I've said it before I will say it again, no restaurant will let you just wear a band aid. You must wear a finger condom too. Probably because he knew Nurmi would bring it back up and explain it away, "she bought a t-shirt and a little statue of the Mormon Temple! NOT GAS!" I believe Nurmi doesn't get another chance to examine JA, so he cannot explain it away.

Why did he JM wait until now to say that Walmart has no record of the return. Why not bring that out on cross?

I suspect as soon as she testified to the return, that JM issued a subpoena to Walmart to check their records from 5 years ago - which would take time.
