Morning all

No idea what I will do for five days now with no JM but the only good thing i guess is I can have an early night.

Im still on a high from yesterday, in surprised the court didnt given him a standing ovation. I wad sitting clapping like a seal :floorlaugh:

I cant wait to see where he goes with the matt thing he always seems to be leaving little crumbs and then just quickly moving on

Lol did you see my notes? I was literally sitting on my hands as I had such an urge to stand up w a standing ovation. It was amazing. I woke up early as I'm still reeling with the energy from it. We were jumping up and down outside the courthouse and later in the restaurant bathroom. Lol

So there ARE more juror questions so I guess Nurmi will get another yawn feast...but so will Juan.

Next week will be something!!

hmmm interesting. I didn't see the testimony, but I heard the employee from the rental car service said the car smelled like smoke. Can anyone confirm?

Yup! Posters here last night confirmed that on the paperwork done when she returned the rental car, a smoke smell was documented.

There's a theory out here (via HLN?) that Matt may be involved with the bogus Travis confession letters -- the ones where Travis so-called apologized for hitting JA and said he'd get pedo help.

This may have something to do with the coded jailhouse magazines JA got busted trying to get to into Matt's hands.

When the trial first started, MM commented on another site that he saw neck bruises on JA, and she told him TA had done it. But it sounds like JM has figured out it would have been impossible for Matt to have seen bruises on the date JA needed this to sync-up with.

Maybe the State has put pressure on Matt. Maybe they've put him in a position where he's had to 'fess-up and cooperate, or face serious consequences. This could be why JM keeps dangling Matt's name over JA's head -- scaring the crap out of her.

I suppose MM may have originally been listed by the DT, to testify re: neck bruises. But if the State has implicated him in the forged (inadmissible) letters, I bet Nurmi no longer wants him anywhere near that witness stand.

If all this is true -- and the jury finds out JA's alleged forgery plot -- Jodi can just roll-up her sleeve. It will be needle time, for sure.

Not once they because evidence. I would assume each page would have been copied and correlated and that is what the lawyers would have worked from. Her journal, more than likely would have been sealed and only allowed in the courtroom for reference purposes.

This is in regard to her journals ~
IMO she tore out the pages after Flores cornered her with evidence and BEFORE she was arrested. She probably tore out the pages of her jealousy ragarding Lisa, Mimi and Deanna. Travis never read her stupid diary, she read HIS. She just turns everything around because Travis is not here to dispute her evil lies. I cannot stand that zit lipped beotch.

I noticed this remarkable change in phraseology today. I took it to mean that when she shot Travis in the head he fell towards her on his way to hitting the floor, never to stand again -- and she interpreted that as Travis wrestling with her and trying to kill her.

You are spot on!

I'm not convinced. She may not be the most clever criminal ever, but I find it difficult to believe she would lie about something so easily disproven with documentary evidence. She knew they had her bank records.

I'm not ruling it out either. I hope Juan has some follow up to make this point crystal clear.

I know it seems silly but remember her interrogation with Flores? PICTURES showing herself on his bed and still wasn't going to admit she was there. She's just not a normal person:twocents:

I think she used a common steak knife or similar. If she had bought a knife/weapon, JM would have found out about it. She probably took a knife from her grandparents house just like she did the gun.
When she was arrested, she had knives concealed somewhere in her luggage. I'll bet those were not kitchen knives ... I'm willing to bet she had some form of hunting knife, designed to gut animals after killing them.

:waitasec::waitasec:

I have 'heard' about JA's "photography portfolio". Did she ever really have one? Has anyone ever seen any photos she shot (outside of her self photos and TA photos, I mean)?

Signed: Curious

ONe of the numbers from the reciepts is SKU 007 050 157 285. I have scoured the walmart website but found nothing of interest

It was Neutrogena Ultramist SPF 85 sunblock--a highly inflammable aerosol-- that has since been discontinued. It was almost 50% alcohol. JA bought two of them, leading some to suspect she may have contemplated using fire.

The manufacturer of UltraMist has now recalled all remaining varieties of the sunscreen due to fire hazard. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/10/19/banana-boat-sunscreen-recall-ultramist-fire-risk_n_1989355.html

IMO I wouldn't want the jury to know she asked for death (she said if she did do this then she would want death). I wouldn't want this witch getting what she wants, I would probably give her LWOP just so she can "live" her whole life in prison knowing what she did to Travis, no strawberry frappuccinos, no manicures, no men, for the rest of her whole miserable, confined life.

From what I understand, her idea of a loan is paying off a debt at a snail's pace. Has she stated she loaned him money in addition to the car debt?

Jodi claims that three checks she wrote to Travis in January of 2008 (I believe) were loans. But one check looked as if it had "airline" on the item line below. It looks more as if she was paying him back for what she owed him. He had a new Prius and it was highly unlikely he was not able to support himself without loans from Jodi. More of her making herself out to be a victim. I bet if they pulled Travis' financial records they would see he paid for both their tickets at times when they traveled. Since they were no longer a "couple" he may have felt she should pay her own way. jmo

It was mentiones before, she could have sprayed the sunscreen in his eyes?? It would have been very painful and distracting, I got a lot of sunscreen in my eyes before and was nearly blinded for 10 minutes because it burnt so bad.. It's a sick theory but I just can't see why she would buy this sunscreen as it is much more expensive than bottled kind and she bought 2, they were nearly $10 each! I'd like to know why she bought 2... Bizarre.

I think JM is trying to PROVE/CATCH her in an obvious lie, to prove to the jury that she has NOT been telling the truth while on the stand, like she took an oath to do. So if she's lying about the cans, she is lying about her entire story. That's what I gather anyway.

I'm questioning JA's strategy, not JM's. It seems to be a pointless lie, on the surface at least.

Not really. Juan asked if it would surprise her if Walmart had no gas can returns that day, and she said yes it would surprise her. Juan implied that he has seen a record of returns from Walmart that day, but you have to understand that attorneys throw out questions like that sometimes just to get a reaction or to make a certain implication for the sake of the jury.

Think about the way Juan has handled the case so far -- he doesn't throw out questions like that in advance, he just brings in the evidence and lets it speak for itself without giving Jodi a chance to explain it away.

I really don't know right now --I'm anticipating a bombshell, but right now it's just a suggestion. I do hope there's more. And I hope there's more about the magazine codes as well.

I understand you not wanting to put too much weight into this evidence but wouldn't he want his most damning evidence to be in the end? Right before closing arguments so it's set up and fresh for the jury.

I heard they were hidden inside a book. Does anyone know if it was one of those 'dummy' books specifically made for hiding items? Not that it really matters, just curious.

She seemed to have thrived in the five years she has been in jail. Has her own fan club, so to speak. DP would mean she would be isolated, I believe. Fate worse than death to a sociopath I would think. jmo

Kinda OT but it's buggin the heck outta me.

NG is obviously not watching this trial in detail every day. She said last night that the Beast of JA's lip was not there yesterday, made a joke about it. Yes, it was and we all saw it and posted about it all day.
A few days ago a woman called and asked NG why Nurmi was allowed to confer with JA in the middle of testimony, meaning while she was still sitting on the stand. NG's answer was so off the mark and it was clear she never saw that happen. Kinda bugs me that she is using Cliff Notes and then relying on the guests on her show. I hold journalists to a high standard and it bugs me when they act like experts but clearly haven't done their homework. Sorry for the vent.

I believe people are reading the hours wrong. As a person who lives in a 'Blue' law area, I see these signs all the time. They open at 6 AM Monday and do not close til 1 AM Saturday. They are 24 hours except on Sunday.

If you think they are open 24 hours a day except on Sunday, why do they close at 1am on Saturday? I think people are reading the hours correctly. Example...They open Monday's at 6am and close at 1am on Tuesday's. They then re-open at 6am on Tuesday etc. In other words, they are open for 19 hours a day, except on Sunday when they are closed.

You think it may be possible she used that stuff to burn her bloody clothes out there in the "foggy" desert ? Weren't there some missing floor mats from the rental car as well ?

The way I see it, it is all about putting the thought in to the jury's heads to ponder over the significance of certain comments, to which he will tie everything together in the end.
