A good lawyer usualy never asks a question to a defendant unless he already knows the answer and can prove it's right or wrong.
When Juan first started asking jodi questions in cross a lot of people were wondeing why he didn't finish up with some of the questions.
The answer to that is that he will bring up the subject later on in the trial as kind of a surprise so to speak.
Juan knows the answer to a lot of things that he can prove. He will ask the defendant some questions and if they answer wrong and he has the proof already he may not say anything until the end of the trial then he will bring up all the things that he can prove was a direct lie.
This gives the jury a bad taste in their mouths as the defendant has lied to them and a conviction is more likely
Have faith in the prosecution he has a lot of time yet to tighten the noose yet.

The noose is already so tight she cant hardly breathe. You could tell by her demeanor this afternoon she knew he had busted her out once again. No wonder she doesnt like him. He doesnt like her either.

But he is a master when it comes to timing and when he puts evidence in. It truly is a pleasure to watch him in action.

IMO

I was feeling so much more zen as the evening was going on but went back to read an earlier thread... blood pressure back up :pullhair:

What time is KCL back with updates? Soon, eh?

I'm going to recharge and eat something and maybe edify something. :seeya:

What exactly is going on with Matt? Sorry I have so many questions. I can't keep up with you guys.

I soooo agree with you. I'm dancing as fast as I can but it's just too much to keep up with. I'm hoping somebody will offer a "Matt Tutorial".

I apologize if this has been previously answered, but was her computer ever looked over? I don't remember anyone discussing anything found on her computer?

I hope even my beloved Mark Eiglarsh takes notes and pays close attention. Juan is amazing! Lean to the point CIC.., scathing cross examinations, rebuttal is gonna be freaking epic!

Steely: around 17:00 here listen close as Nurmi wraps up his bit..

it ends with Nurmi asking her if she lied before how can the jury believe her now

he ends with that and Juan follows up with a blatant lie she told on the stand just TODAY about the third gas can

Such exquisite prosecutorial timing!

I agree. I think she thinks when she uses big words that it makes her sound smart and sophisticated, but I think it really just makes her sound like she's trying to make herself sound smart. Especially when after she uses those big words, she says things like, "say what"? to the prosecutor! I think she totally tailors everything about herself (language, appearance, sexual preferences, etc...) to fit with whatever situation or type of people she's with. She has no sense of self-she just mimics others around her.

She reminds me of a female Ted Bundy but not as smart (even though she thinks she is!).

Absolutely audreyparker, that's what I said to my BH weeks ago. The only thing I disagree with is, she is just as intelligent as Bundy but not such a good liar.

I watched todays last video, from before the WAMU and just before the gas cans and I didn't notice her attorney doing anything different? What am I missing?

You know what I don't know but I am curious?? Was her lap top gone or did the Police get it?

Ok I just called him! Nice man.. This one is open 24 hours and the Grocery store...hmm.. I should call all 7 (I think he sounds like he thinks i'm nuts, I should say, i'm on a case, this is important! lol)

I travel for a living and I can tell you that even the hole in the wall places in SLD stay open all night with access to the inside for nacho's, coffee, etc. It is not quite the same as, say Houston, where they lock themselves into a plexiglass room for protection and lock the doors after 11. SLC has much less crime and I have been desperate for food at 3am.

I have also been back and forth from the city to the airport about a gazillion times. It's quite a drive and there is nothing around the airport. Someone mentioned that it was strange for her to stop in that area.

The restaurant would not allow her to handle food or pour drinks with a wound that hasn't stopped bleeding, period! JA testified she cut it on a glass, or metal on a glass, not handling food. Since it's JA, a known LIAR, is stating this years later, the health department wouldn't be interested. To be very clear, the management would have filled out an injury report if she did get hurt at work. It's the law. They had 4-5 restaurants, maybe even 13 at the time, there is no way this is a small business.

Hope that helps. The restaurant doesn't need any more bad PR. :seeya:

I noticed that as well. It really turned my stomach. "Well Travis is dead now, but If I save $4.83 on gas I can get a strawberry frap for the ride home.

That is cooooooooold.

Yes! She saved thirty cents a gallon but it allows Juan to catch her lying and prove premed! She put everything on debit too, didn't even care cause she wasn't in AZ.

Something occurred to me when she was bellying up to the styrofoam cup today (despite the fact that JM made her shake LoL). I think she picks it up in that weird way on purpose. It's to keep showcasing that damaged finger. Everything she does is calculated and coached by her defense.

Too bad that's not going to do her any good though. She keeps digging her hole deeper the more she moves her lips. The DT can coach her all they want on how she should present herself, but she's a loose cannon and they can't control her. The worst thing they could possibly do in this case is put her on the stand, but I guess they had no choice. Another twist I thought of too is that maybe she insisted on it, and they had to build a defense around that. She's a psychopath, not insane, so an insanity defense isn't going to fly.

I think they should have gone for some kind of "temporary rage" defense. That might have at least spared the DP. The road they're going down now is going nowhere. The juror questions IMO were very telling of where their minds are at. I don't think she has one sympathetic person on that jury, and I think Nurmi really made a big mistake today when he handed them more of the same carp they've been listening to for close to two weeks.

She really is cooked I think. I can't see how these experts they're going to put up there next can possibly redeem her. Juan PROVED her a liar today, and it was most excellent :rocker:. Bye bye Jodi .

ETA: I meant two weeks in REAL time, not AZ court week time. It honestly feeeeels :) like she's been up there forever. ;)

This has always bugged me throughout the trial. Why does she drink her water like this? I've tried it, and it's uncomfortable to me, and well.....it just looks odd. I think she's the only person I've seen that does this. Anyone else?
