I can't believe along with murderng Travis that she tried to write her muder/road trip off s a business trip for tax purposes. It's like she decided to have a crime filled day or something.

wow. i watched this last night but only JM's part since i missed part of it. this morning i watched nurmi. BAD JOB!!!!!! so she HIDES her shaking????? :floorlaugh:
now wouldn't that be something you'd want the jury to see? what a boob. also, the gun is now a SECRET gun. how convenient! she literally has an answer for everything. sure sign of a liar.
huge fail on nurmi's part. he should have shut up and sit down long ago. at this point, i would imagine the jury despises him and i'm pretty sure they despise his lying, murdering client too.

I thought the shaking thing was ridiculous. So, she can hide the shaking in her voice too? That's impressive! :P

But seriously, I'd be like that kid on Goonies confessing everything I've ever done if I ever had to go up against JM.

Hi, everyone! :seeya: I've been lurking here for a while and think you all are great! :)

Loved Juan yesterday and can't wait for him to continue Wednesday.

I have a question.... why is there no court on Fridays?

From @wildabouttrial on twitter:
#JodiArias Trial Fact: On 2/25/11 Kirk Nurmi announced he was leaving the public defender's office to go into private practice.

#JodiArias Trial Fact: Court kept him on as defense and had to pay him more per hour to match the $ he would be making in private practice

I don't think he's going to have to worry about a private practice after this. Who would hire him?

Something I found very telling during yesterday's questioning was Jodi mentioned the bathroom floor tile were slippery when wet. That in itself says so much. If she knew that then Travis would have known that moreso as it was his house. So with that in mind, why would he consider getting out of the shower soaking wet, in anger and dare to pick Jodi up to body slam her to the floor? This is how desperate she is, she'll say anything to protect her a&&. I don't care how irate someone is, if you know in the back of your mind, say in this case the floor is slippery when wet, you're not gonna risk harming yourself. Hope that makes sense.

As smart as Jodi thinks she is, she's really not, and the more detail she gives just makes it worse for herself. Keep digging Jodi, you're not far from He!! now. I really think she just loves to hear herself talk and being in the spot light is a real boost to her "EGO". :rocker: You rock Jodi in the lie department. Anyone else catch that during Juan's questioning and how she referred to Travis' personality as his "ego" instead of personality or traits?: floorlaugh: Dig, dig, dig! :great:

I think this is yet another example of how her PERCEPTIONS are so far from REALITY.

My understanding is that Walmart will give a cash return on anything under $25 without a receipt. So no receipt given the refund would not be on file.

I find that doubtful. They must keep every transaction made on file. They just dont give out refunds without having any backup to show the transaction.

IMO

  • #1,288
Exactly. If the "return" is not listed in the Walmart puter, shoot her!

No one has to shoot her. Jodi is doing that to herself. She is making her own bed with her lies.

Jodi Arias Murder Trial Day 29. Afternoon Session. Part 2. Juan Martinez asking questions - YouTube

start at 54:00 time! KEEP your eye on the Defense team. They clearly did not know about this

I believe the defense team knows all about this. Like Jodi they seem to feign ignorance when confronted by the facts. I didn't see a look of surprise but one of "damn" They need to take these days off and start looking at the facts of this case, Juan is always on his A game and seems to be filled with passion of getting justice for Travis. The defense team thinks they can just keep muddying the waters with NON stop sex talk and that will take care of premeditation. Its not looking good for them (and I never want it to but im just saying)

Ok this is a pretty odd question, ive been pondering over it for a while and my minds went blank.
What song would be appropriate for a tribute song to Travis? A song a female sings.
Ive been through the usual sarah mclauchlan angel etc but im stuck

This is probably not what you're looking for, but a song that often comes to mind is "Farther Along" with Emmylou Harris, Linda Ronstadt & Dolly Parton. Oh, those voices.

I wish these things could be entered into evidence by the persons testimony. If she is allowed to ramble on about what Travis said and did with NO evidence, WHY can't a live person, a friend get on the stand and talk about what Travis told them.

Much of her entire testimony is hearsay

I can tell you that if I was on the jury and found out all these details afterwards, I would not be happy, I would feel lied to by the entire system.
They need all the info to make a honest decision IMO

I agree that JM may be sitting on the "smoking gun". He wants her to LIE about what she bought with the 19.65. And when she does, bingo bango, evidence for the actual items showing GAS purchase is entered! If he had revealed all his cards then, she could have possibly lied her way out of it, like for example claiming that the 5 gallons of extra gas did not go in a gas can.

I dont know why they are always out on Friday, maybe for other court trials/issues/work?

But, I did want to :welcome6: you!! :)

Walmart... If she presented receipt there would be a line through the gas can purchase if she did not use the receipt it would have been store credit. Period . That is walmart policy.

No receipt? No problem
We do accept returns without a receipt. You will have the option of a cash refund (if the purchase was under $25), a shopping card for the amount of the purchase (if it was over $25) or an even exchange for the product. Also, as applicable, we follow any manufacturer’s warranties.

Alas! I will likely never catch up on all of the posts since trial recessed yesterday, but I was elated that JM left the jury with some serious issues to contemplate and more LIES from the defendant. Hopefully, the jury took note of the fact that Jodi isn't the least bit frightened or intimidated by Juan and that she becomes aggressive, angry, and confrontational when he challenges her. Shrinking violet? I don't think so.

Prediction: The trial might take longer than anticipated, but I think the jury will render their GUILTY verdict in a matter of hours. :moo:

Have a wonderful day, everyone.

Thank you!!!!!

Ok, I have a question. On the receipt for gas she made 3 purchases. So how does that acct. for her filling up the car and 3 gas cans? I know I am just missing something. Can anyone help? :waitasec:

TY for that link. Q: In AZ in 2008 did you have to have a gun stored/ locked in a specific way? Is that why the jury asked if the closet had a lock?

That could work both ways...unlikely the gun existed there if it couldn't be locked? and if there was a lock why didn't she lock herself in there?

This closet which may be bigger than her jail cell which is a heck of a lot bigger than where she left TA. I think I personally want to stop saying poor TA and instead find him a more heroic epithet. Heroic TA G-d bless Travis. And, G-d bless this jury, with wisdom, heart and untold patience.

We already know he didn't own a gun. I cannot wait for JM to bring in TA's friend. I am convinced his testimony and videos of Ta with him shooting, convinced that he would know if he had purchased a gun, and that if he did he wouldn't have bought a baby 25mm which apparently ( I hate guns) is fairly useless, like a toy to gun enthusiasts. Also with his sister being a PO and TA being who he is...I have full faith that he would have stored his guns lawfully and safely. justsayin'

Also I keep bringing this up, I swear she stole the murder weapon - the knife- from MM on 6/3. She was returning what (?) to him...which was packed in her car when she was arrested?( although her answers about the old fashioned shaving razor knife was and continues to be very strange imo.

Last question:
What is going through that foggy, shakeyLikeAChiuaua, scrambled brain of hers during all those side bars? She is really scary.

He defends sex offenders and has his own private law practice. I don't think he has to worry about business. jmo

that may be true, but they would have to scan the actual gas can for inventory. Again, they would have to have a money trail (return receipt) for them to show the shortage in the drawer.

And she HAD a receipt, she said they did not give her a return receipt. Ok, so she went back and didnt use her receipt to return the gas can, yes she could have still gotten a cash refund, but WalMart still would have scanned the can to place in back in inventory and a receipt to show where the cash amount went from the drawer. Therefore giving WalMart a footprint of the can being returned that day - Juan said there was NO GAS CAN RETURNED AT ALL THAT DAY.
