Hmmm. Are you talking people or topics? Mods have been trying to get us "Anthony Case" people to visit other threads. IMO parallels bewteen cases CAN be helpful..that's why we have profilers. I think I'll stroll back over to the sidebar thread. Not feeling the love here.

My question is why did they run it in the first place? They knew the firestorm they were creating and the non story it really was.

But they did NOT run what they HAD.....before media released the tape, LE had already made it clear that they knew who was with her and that neither the shopping trip nor the man with her had ANY relationship to the case. LE made a clear and definitive statement about that long before local or national media started running the tape and repeating information that they KNEW was not accurate.

Hi Raeann, I have followed this case closely and was only aware of LE stating that about the video after it came to the publics attention on the news video. Initially LE would not comment at all about the grocery store video. Just wondering how I missed that?

I think wfgodot was referring to the incessant comparisons of this case to Casey Anthony's. While I understand the need to note parallels, there's been a ton of discussion about it, and it takes the focus away from THIS case. I understand that Casey Anthony was a big case - but does it really have to come up in Lisa's thread? Kyron's? Jon Benet's? Amanda Knox? At some point we have to move one, and constantly rehashing the Casey Anthony case in other case threads does nothing but make it harder to stay on topic.

Do you have a link for that? Because my recollection is that LE wasn't the one who released the tape or even mentioned it. The tape came first, then LE made a very brief comment later that they knew about it and it wasn't related.

But if you have a link that shows the events happened in a different order I would be happy to look at it.

Sorry if someone's already said this (still catching up), but IIRC, a local reporter tweeted that a national reporter (not the family) hung a poster on a tree, filmed it, turned off the camera, and took down the poster.
