Friday? As recently as earlier today I saw a post that said verbatim what he said in that article about jails being full of people who talked to police. When I read the article just a bit ago I about fell out of my chair. I totally get having a lawyer present for questioning. But I continue question the involvement of JT and BS. And the *new* lawyer who has talked to the press about this case last week. :twocents:

I understand all this "don't talk to the police" drama, I really do. But if that is one's position, WHY DID THEY CALL THE POLICE IN THE FIRST PLACE???

The police didn't show up at DB/JI's door just cuz they felt like it. They were invited. If you don't want the freaking police involved, don't call them in the first place; call your attorney.

But they were ok with LE until the focus shifted to them. They didn't like that LE questions them. Forget the fact that DB failed a poly, forget the fact that DB changed her story, forget the fact that LE had a timeline they were working with until DB gave an interview which completely changes the timeline but refuses to speak to LE unless it's their way, forget the fact that LE can't move on away from the parents until the parents answer more questions to clear certain things up.

LE is just supposed to brush that all off, be nicer to the parents and go out and find Lisa.

Just a generalized comment about whether or not the parents should/shouldn't have attorney(s) present during interviews:

I'm not sure about Jeremy as he seems quite reserved and, in fact, has frequently parroted Deborah's responses in interviews. On the other hand, DB seems quite animated, sociable, and talkative - a bit of a loose canon - and probably doesn't know when it's best to refrain from speaking. Deborah needs someone at her side to reign her in if she gets carried away in her excitement to "talk" and inadvertently says something that might incriminate her. jmo

I hope he wasn't speaking directly to the Irwin case when he said:

"“My own view is that my clients should never talk to police,” Picerno said Tuesday. “I tell them, ‘The prisons are full of people who talked to the police. The police are going to do what they are going to do, with or without your cooperation and your statement.’&#8194;”

It's one thing if the police come knocking on your door because they think you robbed a bank or stole the neighbor's car. It's another thing entirely if you are REPORTING a crime. How are you supposed to report a crime or get some help if you're not allowed to talk to the police? That is one of the dumbest statements I've seen yet.

I hope his approach isn't always so cookie-cutter and narrow minded. I mean really, report your baby missing but don't ever talk to the police. Astounding.

Exactly. Like it's their place to summon the police, order them around and decide which questions should be asked, then dismiss them when they feel like it.

It's kind of ironic though because I imagine DB is practically having a nervous breakdown because she now has no way of knowing just how close LE is getting. The sword cuts both ways.

Hey, I have find something to laugh about since the rest depresses me...no closer to baby Lisa being found, the show must go on as usual...

I wonder what the boys will be videotaped by the media doing next? Apparently that's the new norm for them now...

Honestly, I want to stop hearing about lawyers and hear more about Lisa and where she is. This case is becoming all lawyers and media. How sad. I hope there isn't a revolving lawyer door on this case...
