new "prestigious local lawyers" secured by Joe Tacopina **John Picerno**

IMO, they "dumped" CS and kept JT because he is capable of bringing in the big bucks w/ his connections to the national media. Hence, the lovely family trick or treat scene on GMA this morning.

I hate to even think like that, but previous cases have caused us to question the parents ethics. :twocents:

I'm not sure what you mean? Who's "stringing them along"? I'm sure JT let them know that since the media was interested in the case that there was money to be made. They obviously have no problems being on camera or letting their kids be on camera. I personally would rather not exploit my children, but to each his own.

The trick or treat video was a JT ordered PR spot, IMO.
They wanted to bring a "sense of normalcy"????
might be more NORMAL if they didn't have a GMA camera man and crew following them around.

ppffft.

.

ITA. and really what is the purpose of a lawyer if you can't agree on strategy. Which is why imo CS was fired.

That said, JT has done very well for the majority of his clients imo including the infamous Joran one where he shifted some of the public opinion and got the civil suit tossed. He is fierce in his defense of clients, has vast experience with and knows how to handle the media.

For whatever reason and it might be payment he has agreed with parents on the local media issue.

With the focus on the family (and imo LE has made it clear who they have in their sights) they need someone who will protect them, and if that means staying in the background, the parents I mean, and let their attorney do the talking then I understand why. The parents were killing themselves with their statements to the press about Lisa and yes they pled for her return but in the process ..omg.

Fair enough - but in the meantime who is protecting Lisa?

JMHO

:waitasec: I think I will start keeping a "head count" of the number of lawyers that will be "coming and going" in this case ...

1. CS - gone
2. JT
3. this "prestigious" lawyer
4. ?

:waitasec: Hmmm ... this "revolving door" of lawyers is starting to remind me of someone else in Orlando ...

:cow:
gag me

OK - One child "kidnapped" by a stranger... and the parents are parading their other two children out on NATIONAL TV!! Something is very, very wrong with this picture.....IMO

I'm waiting for the reality tv show. The Bradley/Irwins of Kansas City, MO.
Someone said earlier this is a goat rope. Couldn't agree more.

Where is BABY LISA?

MOO

Well his big buck connections are not doing much by means of where the family is staying. Still a very simple neighborhood. Maybe a bit nicer is all.

Unfortunately often protecting a subjects rights interferes with protecting another persons.

There are two live little boys who need parents right now too..at least from their and the parents perspective. (i don't have a problem with the halloween video, they were dressed up and enough people have been implying no normalcy to the kids lives that I think it was reassuring to see them trick or treating)

Well..............I guess that Lisa's parents have decided that prestige is exactly what their baby needs right now.

Not her parents' full cooperation.

Not an interview with her brothers who may have been the ONLY eyewitnesses as to what happened to her.

Not sitting with LE as long as it takes in order to clear their names and move onward with the investigation.

Prestige. How sickening.

This great big ball of wax is getting stickier every single day isn't it?

I'm just catching up with the latest on this case. I see that JI and DB now have a team of lawyers representing them and I just read where JT referred to them as 'victims'. I thought the victim here was Baby Lisa!

Then I see the clip of their boys going out Trick-or-Treating. Who does that when your baby is missing? :furious: How do you expect to bring 'normalcy' to your life when your baby has only been gone for 4 weeks? No, life isn't normal. Your baby is missing!!

How can they even have the emotional energy to participate in something as insignificant as Halloween? If they want to knock on doors, how about canvassing the surrounding neighborhoods? How about looking for their missing child?! They're acting like Halloween is more important than Baby Lisa. That poor baby could be alive somewhere and suffering at this very moment. What kind of example are these parents setting for their two boys?

At this point, I'm beyond disgusted with all these players- the parents and their lawyers! :furious:

Umm those two little boys need some trick or treating with their parents and normalcy as much as possible.

In fact imo ALL their emotional energy is in striving to care for two kids who must be terrified at the thought of being taken away from their parents like Lisa.

It is easy to say send them to relatives but those kids may absolutely go nuts at the idea of being torn from them.

Furious that they are trying to do something fun for the children?

I will have to agree, Cracka, i am not sure why all this hype and TEAM of lawyers if they are innocent. I understand that folks here believe that the boys should have some sense of "normalcy" in their lives. But their baby sister is missing. If the parents would put as much effort in pleading for Lisa, begging for her return, talking about her likes/ dislikes/ eating habits, etc- i would be able to understand this a little bit more. :sigh:

I agree with you to a certain extent. These parents do need to gather their family around themselves and bring some normalcy to the two children. Those two kids must be terrified. The only problem I have is that out of the hundreds (phew) of children who came by my house for Halloween last night not one of them had a TV camera with them. That wasn't normal and could have been harmful to their kids. They do need some private family time to calm their kids. The rest should be for the adults to appear on TV or search for the baby. I would not want to have to balance that but sometimes parents have to figure out a way in order to meet the needs of all their kids. The press should have been kept away from the older kids if they are trying for normalcy IMHO.

Nothing is 'normal' about your baby sister going missing. In the midst of a tragedy you just don't go out Trick-or-Treating, or partying a la Casey Anthony. I don't care how old you are. It's simply not the time. Are these boys still attending school every day? If 'normalcy' is what the parents are looking for then there's nothing more normal and routine like attending classes.

And then the family supposedly leaves their home so they won't be bothered by the media. So what do they do? They bring along a camera technician and reporter, thus drawing attention to themselves.

Finding Baby Lisa is obviously not a high priority in their world. It's obvious they just can't be bothered actually going out and searching for her. So, the message to the boys is that if they go missing, instead of the family doing everything they can to find them, they will go out to enjoy the day!

A week ago today, to be exact. :) Interesting. When were the <modsnip>whisked away?

Sat or sunday! moo I think sat! because BS was supposed to arrive on sunday and he came a day early. I figured it was because of MW! jmo
