I don't understand why exactly is it assumed that police didn't want to arrest GZ? According to some sources it was a prosecutor that didn't think there was enough evidence to charge him with anything. So now the prosecutor has been replaced. And still no charges as of yet.
And someone here posted that she said something tonight on Anderson Cooper to the effect of she wasn't sure if charges were going to be filed as of yet.

I too live in central Florida, and agree it's very rare to see some one wearing a hoodie, and iirc, it was 60 degrees at the time Martin was shot. It was raining, and I do not believe the hoodie should be blamed at all for Martin's death. Perhaps his action (IMO) of suddenly pulling the hoodie up, at least partially obscuring if not his face, at least is head, when he noticed Zimmerman watching him added to Zimmermans suspicions.

I was a victim of a violent crime back in October of 1993, attacked, robbed, cornered behind a counter, and cut repeatedly with a razor blade box cutter. Several of the cuts were to my cheek and chin, which bled so much my attacker though he had slit my throat and left.

The attacker was a young black male wearing a baseball cap and a hoodie pulled up over his head.

FYI, my attacker was released from incarceration September of 2011. Crime doesn't pay. There is a WS Mod who can verify this for those who may doubt.

Rossva, so sorry to hear of your attack. I know this is OT, but did you suffer PTSD? I did for quite some time after being robbed at gunpoint by a 12 year old and his buddies in broad daylight on a busy street corner.

Here is the link we had from the other night.

http://njuice.com/trayvon-martins-last-call-haunts-girlfriend

But it has been edited. When you clicked on the article about the girlfriend - you got a print article AND a video and in that video you got a real good look at the last page of phone records. That video no longer comes up with the article BUT

From the screenshot at the link you can see that the gf's call was an incoming call at 7:12 PM on 2/26
The family lawyer said today that the girl called Trayvon at 7:12....which I thought was odd since I saw what you just wrote on the ABC site as well. I'll see if I can find the presser from today.

Then the very next call is a call to 911 at 12:45 PM on 3/2

For me this is still sloppy reporting - they are NOT paying attention to the dates of these calls.

Again, JMHO

Any word on why, 5 days later she called 911? TIA

I always thought an assault on a police officer was considered violent. I thought, too, that laying your hands on someone and shoving them was considered assault. Unless you are married to one, or you're their mother I don't suggest anyone try to touch them in any way, shape or form. They're very funny that way. jmo
He was charged for both violent and non-violent resisting arrest. Seems kind of contradictory to me. Who knows what really happened. JMO

I thought those were established to have been Martin's call records.

I think the original poster was implying that it somehow has a bearing on the legitimacy of the case... If one cop supports this "justice movement", then there has to be something wrong with the investigation.

And a homocide detective would know whether or not a proper investigation was done. While LE usually sticks up for one another they can generally can smell a coverup from a mile away. jmo

How would a cop from Miami-Dade know anything about an ongoing investigation across the state? It's cool he showed up, but I don't really think it means anything with respect to the investigation. It's just his own beliefs based on what everyone else has seen (the media's portrayal).

This isn't a copy of HER records - its for Trayvon's phone because at 12:47 there is an incoming call and the number is SPD's main number. There is a second incoming call at 12:49 with the same number. We discussed this and kinda concluded that it was SPD calling - both the 911 AND the 2 call backs - possibly in an effort to get the phone unlocked? We just don't know.

But that screenshot isn't the gf's records but Trayvon's.

And I have no doubt they are under an enormous pressure to file charges.

Ask any homocide detective they'll tell you what should have been done and what wasn't. And we are discussing what they did wrong. I doubt this detective lives in a vacuum. jmo

Where was NeJame saying this? An actual news program, or was he guest lawyer on Nancy Grace? IMO it would make a large difference in the weight I would give such a comment. After all, people who disagree with Nancy Grace usually don't get invited back.

Very interesting and Nejame has nothing to gain by reporting this. I would not be surprised at anything, at this point in my life!

And how does anyone outside of the direct investigation know for certain what was done and what wasn't?

Up until not too long ago, the media was reporting that they hadn't even taken his gun, he was let go from the scene, they didn't look at his clothing, and a host of other mistruths that fit their perception of events at the time.

It's certainly what I inferred. Please, what did you mean then?

I wasn't inferring anything with my post. Most people who follow crime cases happen to know who Ervens Ford is.

  • #958
Wait. Isn't that the reason he was currently suspended for?

That was in October of last year. I know there are a few people who have never smoked the stuff, me being one. But I know there are a zillon people out there, including those that attended college and probably more than half of all LE have tried it so unless he had something major on him, or in his system, I think we can kiss that subject goodbye because it means nothing and you can buy it anywhere. He didn't even have enough to get him arrested. jmo

So you meant nothing that it "speaks volumes" that he showed up and was "supporting" the "call for justice"?

Why does it speak volumes, then?
