The thanks button wasn't enough. I wondered why the web was scrubbed of any recent pictures of either of them.

What is wrong with this pic of TM? Is it because it's close up and his cap is on backwards? Have we all gotten that judgemental of people? My Son wears his cap like that sometimes, even I do.

I wasn't talking about the slur. I'm pointing out that the whole context of GZ's 911 call is slanted against Trayvon based on the way he looks, and not what Trayvon was DOING (i.e. walking with skittles and tea in his hands).

jmo

From the transcripts I've read, GZ wasn't even sure about TM's race until he turned around and started walking toward him. He initially called in because the youth, face not seen, was walking in an aimless manner and appeared to be looking at the houses. I presume GZ thought TM was casing the houses. IMO, it is common for teenagers to walk in an aimless manner and when I walk through neighborhoods, even my own, I always stare at the houses (I just love looking at houses). So I, personally, don't think TM's behavior was odd. But GZ did. However, IMO, it was not profiling because GZ was unsure of the young man's race when he initially called in.

How would the school know that the "empty" baggie was an "empty marijuana baggie"? Are they specifically marked?

You can tell. Seeds, dust and smell. Don't ask me how I know that K? :blushing:

But it wouldn't surprise me if an empty ziplock bag period is considered contraband by the school.

Would showing those pictures justify the fact that he was killed under very suspicious circumstances?
No, but it would add more realism to the situation than showing pictures of 13-14 year old Trayvon.

His Twitter and Facebook accounts were deleted. They were reported to have many references to 🤬🤬🤬🤬 life/culture on them. Someone posted links to caches in the previous thread. I imagine it all made Martin look bad, so the family/lawyer deleted them.

His Facebook account has not been deleted.

The truth is finally coming out. I did see the pics earlier in this thread, and it's very illuminating. Why in the world they're just now surfacing is beyond me.

Also, the truth has finally surfaced about why he was suspended. An empty bag of marijuana. So while he couldn't be charged with a crime for that and get a record, he could be suspended. It wasn't about tardies.

And as was made obvious by the wounds, George was punched in the nose and slammed on the ground with the back of his head. I'm not sure about the grabbing for the gun thing. Having his head slammed into the ground would be grounds to shoot.

Don't know if this new article has been posted yet:

Maybe, but again, what is the date of the most recent picture of Zimmerman?

Also, there are recent pictures of Trayvon available...some have been posted here.

my bolding

Seriously?

The vast majority of teens wear hoodies. My daughter has a closet full of hoodies. My sons wore hoodie, none of them are gangsta.

You're saying yourself that a kid wearing a hoodie must be a 🤬🤬🤬🤬.

How can we ever get past saying the hoodie had nothing to do with this, or no one should speak out about it, when it keeps getting said that him wearing his hoodie made him look like a 🤬🤬🤬🤬???

THAT is the whole POINT of wearing the hoodies in protest, to show the absurdity in the stereotyping over him wearing a hoodie meant he was a 🤬🤬🤬🤬.

JMHO

:what: I wear hoodie's all the time, keeps my head warm..oh, and i'm 52, and quite the gangsta...:rocker: lol actually on a serious note, i'm very small 5"2 and tiny, I wonder if some people seeing me from the back only really would think i was...wow...that makes me very very uncomfortable

BBM. Have any of the details of Martin's autopsy beeen revealed? IMO, perhaps Martin was high when the encounter happened. Maybe the headline should have read: "Man attacked by and kills drug-crazed teenager"? May also explain why Tracy Martin intially called LE to see if Trayvon had been arrested.

This, this above, is why Trayvon's family did not want the empty marijuana bag made public. Imo. Now he has gone from, once having been known to be in possession of an EMPTY pot baggie, to what if he was a drug-crazed psychopath?! Even if Trayvon was high on marijuana at the time, have you ever been around potheads? It is legal where I live, there are a lot of marijuana users. Potheads are the antithesis of "drug-crazed" and violent. Apathetic and flat of affect mostly. Moo

If only there was a way to test the bag for drug residue... :waitasec:

:twocents: Yep, there is! It is done using the exact same technology :rocker: as that when running/testing clinical specimens (urine, blood, etc.). Establishing a quantitative value is NOT achieved but then again, with a "NO TOLERANCE" policy, not necessary. :what:

Testing of this type of exemplar is standard practice for those dedicated laboratorians doing "trace" as the good ol' CSI TV folk love to "send off" to the laboratory. :please:

Trayvon's mother just said they killed her son (whomever "they" are), and now they are trying to kill his reputation. Does the poor woman not know what a trial would do, not only to Trayvon, but to her, her husband, her family? Are they under the impression that "fair" is looking only at Zimmerman as evil and their child an good? Justice is not that blind, especially in this day and age when juvenile fist fights have been increasing replaced by guns and knives.

I agree, this investigation needs to be completed and if a trial is the result, so be it....but this is turning into what the African Americans have fought to never have happen again for over 200 years, a public lynching based on hearsay and drummed up public outrage.

This family garnered the attention they needed to have the Chief step aside and a new Prosecutor appointed - after that they needed to wait for the outcome. What is happening now is bullying and profiting.

Just my opinion.

I'm not sure why people say GZ did not initially know Trayvon's race. When asked he said he "looks black." He did not say "I don't know." I'm sorry, but there's not too many races of people who "look black." :twocents: :moo:

Anyone think Zimmerman is happy his newer picture was released? I bet he wishes they had stuck with his old mugshot.

Why don't they release a newer one of Trayvon rather than when he was 12 yrs old? More sympathy maybe?

Except the bloody nose and swollen lip that law enforcement saw with their own eyes.

Unless of course you think he is diabolical enough to have struck himself in the face after the shooting so he could argue TM attacked him first.
I think George Zimmerman is capable of that. He wouldn't be the first person to do that. Self-inflict his injuries, then try to blame it on an attacker...

So let me get this straight?

Say I came across Casey Anthony randomly walking down my neighborhood street? I know we have a lot of children who live here? She is acting suspiciously to me... so I follow her? She runs? Why would she RUN? So I get out of my car, with a gun, and take a shortcut (I live here, she doesn't) so I can catch back up with her. She asks me, "Why are you following me?" and she decks me one? I can shoot and kill her, right? Perfect defense, right? Not! I would be in jail! Even if it was Casey Anthony!

Give me a break!

And I am not advocating for anyone to do this to Casey Anthony!

I think everyone is asking way too much for a 17-year-old kid. He was being watched and followed by a strange man. He ran/walked fast, whatever. This paranoid gun toting rambo guy eventually catches up with Trayvon. I will never be convinced that a kid running away decided to go back and run towards what he was running away from. Trayvon asks Zimmerman: Why are you following me?

At this very moment, we don't know if Zimmerman pulled out his gun (which is what I think happened). Let's say he did, you're telling me your asking a 17-year-old kid to know what to do when a gun is pointed at him? Should he run and take the chance of getting shot in the back? Or should he try to disarm the mad man in his own defense? Can you all even for one second imagine how scared Trayvon must have been? How terrified? I wouldn't wish something like this happening to a 21-year-old, 31-year-old, 41-year-old. But good God, he was just a kid!

Did you see the blond haired lady who heard Trayvon screaming for help and then the screaming stopped when she heard the gun go off?

You can smell it. An "empty" bag of marijuana would still have enough to see, little bits of leaves, and a very distinctive smell. But you can't be charged with a crime for that small an amount of marijuana.

I think the point is that TM's picture is not a flattering picture. The media chose to present flattering photos of TM and an unflattering photo of GZ. IMO, they are both attractive men in their "good" shots. Not so much in the others. And people often perceive good looking people as "good."

Sad to say, when I saw GZ's mugshot, my first thought was "what a 🤬🤬🤬🤬." He looks menacing in that pic, completely opposite in this newer one.

(Hope I've made sense.)

VLPate. Do you have a link to the website that picture of Trayvon was posted on? It is so poor quality I would like to see the original.
