That is certainly interesting. I wonder why it was not brought to light until now. And why didn't it show up on those phone records that were depicted?

Probably because it didn't happen. There are no 911 calls on TM's phone records at the time in question. Nobody else has reported it either.

I believe the police report has confirmed Martin did have candy and soda on him, but true, maybe he went out to shop for "other" things?

I'm not sure this has been addressed before... How do we know what Martin was doing? There's been the same statement since day one saying he was coming back from the store after buying a drink and candy, but where does this information come from? I thought his parents weren't aware of specifics about what he was doing?

From what they were saying the other night, and Good Lord with all these threads I don't have a link, but they said when TM made the 911 call it went directly to the Sheriff's Department and not SPD. Have we seen any phone records from TM's phone? jmo

Have you looked at a detailed list from Trayvon's phone records? You have personally seen these yourself? Did you personally request them from his cell phone provider?

I looked at the image of his phone records which was posted on one of these threads (considering we have discussed this claim before). I did not personally request his phone records from his cell phone provider-I really doubt they would release those to me even if I did personally request them.

And if he had, then what are the opinions here on what would have happened? Would that have changed things?

It would have gone to the SO because they handle SPD's dispatching. However, it would still show up as a 911 call on his cellphone, wouldn't it?

Here is the link we had from the other night.

http://njuice.com/trayvon-martins-last-call-haunts-girlfriend

But it has been edited. When you clicked on the article about the girlfriend - you got a print article AND a video and in that video you got a real good look at the last page of phone records. That video no longer comes up with the article BUT

From the screenshot at the link you can see that the gf's call was an incoming call at 7:12 PM on 2/26

Then the very next call is a call to 911 at 12:45 PM on 3/2

For me this is still sloppy reporting - they are NOT paying attention to the dates of these calls.

Again, JMHO

Apparently, he had $22, a phone, a tea, and a bag of candy. http://insidedateline.msnbc.msn.com...s-parents-say-he-was-headed-on-the-right-path

I had been led to believe that beforehand he was watching a ballgame on tv, not that I think it's particularly relevant.
But I believe it has been confirmed that this all took place before that particular game even started. My question is more in terms of, do we know what he was actually doing? We know that it keeps getting repeated that he was just out to get some candy and tea, but where did this come from?

The only news I have seen was that the Zimmerman 911 tapes were sent to the FBI for analysis to see if he uttered a racial slur. How could Trayvon been on the phone calling 911 at the same time he was talking to his girlfriend as his parents lawyer says he was?

I too live in central Florida, and agree it's very rare to see some onme wearing a hoodie, and iirc, it was 60 degrees at the time Martin was shot. It was raining, and I do not believe the hoodie should be blamed at all for Martin's death. Perhaps his action (IMO) of suddenly pulling the hoodie up, at least partially obscuring if not his face, at least is head, when he noticed Zimmerman watching him added to Zimmermans suspicions.

I was a victim of a vioent crime back in October of 1993, attacked, robbed, cornered behind a counter, and cut repeatedly with a razor blade box cutter. Several of the cuts were to my cheek and chin, which bled so much my attacker though he had slit my throat and left.

The attacker was a young black male wearing a baseball cap and a hoodie pulled up over his head.

FYI, my attacker was released from incarceration September of 2011. Crime doesn't pay. There is a WS Mod who can verify this for those who may doubt.

I'm sorry you had to endure that and I don't think most of us doubt you. It must be hard for you to trust anyone. jmo

I think what it implies is he's a kid acting like a kid. At 15 my son had some friends sleep over. One dislike a neighborhood girl so they slipped out at night and did a little damage to the property. My son squealed to a sibling and we heard about it. The neighbor suspected he caused the damage. Our son had to call the neighbor and tell him what happened, who was involved and that we planned to have the repairs done. The neighbor called the police and gave them all the names and they all confessed. Kids do stupid things it's how they learn. My neighbor lectured the boys but there was never any ill will just a "I hope you learned a lesson?"

Sometimes in groups they do things they would never think to do alone. That is why I'm saying one is an adult and one is still a child as far as experience and common sense. jmo
And 7 years ago, Zimmerman was barely an adult. JMO

I think that if Trayvon did call 911 it would have been a big story with not just one local reporter from Chicago reporting on it.

Locking this thread while I read all my alerts. 21 of them and I bet at least 20 are on this thread alone.

Back up, breathe, calm your fingers and your mind. TAKE A BREAK.

There are no 911 calls that show on TM's phone records during the time in question.

someone ask what the 911 call didn't show up on Travyon's phone logs. This is what said about that:

.@tanehisi @chrislhayes I have had cases where 911 calls do not show up on consumer viewable phone records. Not billable. Need ITMS logs.

All I can say after keeping up with this thread for days and reading the links posted is WOW! The picture shown around the world is very deceiving compared to that one shown on twitter. Where does a high school kid get the money for all those tattoos, not that they make someone a bad person but still? I just don't know what to think after reading the Miami Hearld article and especially the other link that was posted. Think I will step back until all the dust has cleared.....things may be worse than we have feared.

Is there any reasonable reason to believe that the calls wouldn't show up on his records when we seemingly have, first, a 911 call glaringly on his records and second, that 911 call seemingly came from within the same E911 area that he would have originally called from?

I could see if there were no 911 calls on the records that this might be the case. However, there clearly are and I'm not sure why there would be discrimination.

That still wouldn't explain why only that one reporter from Chicago reported it (as far as I know no one else did). I would expect a family lawyer would bring that up.

Yes, but even a 17 year old should know enough not to shove a police officer. I don't think it's an "adult" thing I think it's common sense and a fear of getting arrested. Obviously GZ did not feel he had anything to worry about and as it turned out.....he didn't. jmo

Speculation, but maybe he knows a tattoo artist and doesn't pay much, if anything, for the tattoos. According to this article, as of November 2011, tattoo artists in Florida didn't have to be licensed until January of 2012...So that to me says there were lax policies, and people wouldn't be deterred from at home shops...JMO

1) There is no proof Zimmerman was the agressor.

2) Even if I were getting the carp kicked out of me while possessing a weapon, I would do everything I could do before resorting to deadly force, not limited to screaming help. I would do that in the hope some one within earshot would hear and intervene, before, I, in fear for my life, had to take another life.

Why would someone with a gun be screaming for help? That makes no sense! Why would GZ be screaming like that since he was the aggressor?
