Trayvon's crime was being young, alone and black, IMO.
Not sure what you mean by "crime". GZ wasn't accusing him of a crime. He said he was acting suspicious. He also didn't realize Trayvon was black when he picked up the phone to call 911. It was dark, raining, and Trayvon had his hoodie on - all Zimmerman could see was someone walking through a courtyard instead of a sidewalk, appearing to be on drugs and looking around at the houses.
