If GZ were threatening him, calling him names, etc...then I could see TM being terrified. I see absolutely no way that he would be "terrified" just because he thinks someone is following him. He easily could have run home if he were that desperate and fearful.

Didn't GZ tell 911 dispatch that Trayvon was running...and he was concerned that he would get away before LE arrived? :waitasec:

So GZ would pull out his hose and spray down kids just for walking by his house? Were the kids on the sidewalk on the road or in GZ's yard? What does that make GZ if not a bully himself?

Good Questions! I wish the article had been more detailed regarding that activity.

wow. He was standing up for a chubby kid who was being bullied by neighborhood kids. Normally that would be considered a good thing by most people here. Now it is seen as evidence that he is a cold blooded monster, imo.

IMO, it shows GZ has a prior history of acting on his thoughts about others behavior. How it is worded in the article - the "bullies" were walking by GZ's house when sprayed on multiple occasions. Again, I wish the article had been more detailed.

I dont know....again as I am female and I read of crimes a great deal perhaps I am more sensitive than I should be but if someone was following me and getting a little too close I am pretty sure I'd be terrified.

he was only 17 and in an unfamiliar area....as I said before according to de becker, confronting the person following you IS the right thing to do (lest mr de becker and I be misunderstood, asking why are you following me? or such like, not striking out) and in this case it didnt go well for trayvon.

as for the first sentence of yours, we dont know if that happened or not, do we? we dont know for sure what happened or was said between trayvon's gf call being dropped and whatever 911 call screaming can be heard on? (I dont know as I havent listened, I truly cannot bear to no matter who is screaming on it)

Thanks, songline. That's what I thought but people keep saying that he was "close to home" so I figured maybe I had it backwards.

Like his father said he was about a foot ball field away from the house.

And instead of pummeling GZ, TM could have gone home. No way on Earth GZ could have caught TM if TM wanted to get away.
There were no cuts or bruises on TM's knuckles, ZERO evidence he "pummeled" him. You're taking George's word, whom I believe to be a liar!

Mod note:

Obviously, there are some that don't give a flip regarding the mod warnings. I am sick of the disrespect, so let me put this in simple terms that all should be able to understand:

STOP THE PETTY BACK & FORTH BICKERING OVER NONSENSE.

AGREE TO DISAGREE and move on.

You guys have completely tried the patience of mods who have been working non-stop on THIS case only. The leniency is over. All of this pure pettiness is childish and silly. I am completely fed up with it. End of the rope.

Keep on with this and you guys will end up with this forum pulled and there will be nowhere to express yourselves. The decision is yours. I don't care anymore. This is taking away from too many other cases that mods need to be helping in.

*this post lands at random*

Didn't GZ tell 911 dispatch that Trayvon was running...and he was concerned that he would get away before LE arrived? :waitasec:

But TM said he wasn't running. His GF actually told him to run and he said he wasn't going too. Did he start running, stop and then say I'm not going to run anymore?

Who do you believe, GZ or TM?

Your taking a funeral directors word, who is not a doctor nor did he perform the autopsy. I don't think any judgements on what TM had or didn't have can be conclusive until that autopsy report is released.

IMO, when we hear the girlfriend's full statement, we will understand more of what she says happened. I think Trayvon did run, because Zimmerman would have no reason to lie about that IMO.

The GF said TM said he was going to walk fast which could be considered by some to be running with his long legs.

So now we're going to blame the dispatcher because he wasn't direct enough??? It's pretty clear and obvious to most people that what the dispatcher said equals DON'T Do that!!! The phrase "we don't need" is just a more polite, less direct way of saying the same thing. In Japanese culture, being so direct is frowned upon as too aggressive...

I disagree. Around my house "I don't need you to do that" means "it would be nice if you did." IMO, in using the phrase "we don't need you to do that" the dispatcher implied "that's not necessary" which IMO is not a direct order to stand down. I think the phrasing will play into GZ's favor in court.

JMO, OMO, and :moo:

There was a witness who saw it happen, and GZ has documented injuries.

Clarify the timeline, when this was said, how does it match up to when GZ said he was 'running'?

How does GZ have the power to intimidate TM and "make" him be afraid? He can't control TM's reaction. Was TM afraid and intimidated when he was pummeling GZ?

that's not quite fair, imo. most people would be afraid if they thought they were being followed. :maddening:

BBM

According to a lawyer (Hornsby), that is not the law though or at least that how I understood as he explained it.

I haven't seen Hornsby's post. Also, I am not a lawyer I am only stating my opinion regarding what I read and my interpretation. :whiteflag:

Where is a lawyer (Hornsby), when you need him??? LOL...
Hopefully, one will pop in here and help us out! :innocent:

Reading here I am on the opinion that this is all one sided.
I do not get that there will be justice, just a pound of flesh for a pound of flesh. :(:(:(
so sad, so wrong. so uncivilized, so unnecessary.

We have heard it said, past behavior predicts future behavior. GZ has demonstrated in past behavior that he is violent and volatile based on charges of assaulting a police officer and a woman. Though he wasn't prosecuted or convicted he did demonstrate that. The murder of Trayvon supports that theory, imo. I think justice will be done with a conviction and society will be safer.

BBM May be Taaffe is a home owner and not a renter? Considering possible HOA litigation.

Yes, Taaffe is a home owner in The Retreat at Twin Lakes - google Seminole County Florida Property Appraiser and search for his name. I won't post a link because it's extremely easy to find.

GZ on the other hand is a renter, according to what has been posted here - I know his name does not appear as a property owner in Seminole County.

I don't think that much of the information we have to go on can be considered conclusive. I am afraid much of it never will be. We did have a member here, who is a funeral director, weigh in on the reportings of the fd who prepared Trayvon's body. She did say that that sort if damage is something she would expect to be visible to a funeral director, and that that is the sort of damage that has to be addressed in prepping the body. In the absence of an autopsy report, I am choosing to find the funeral director's observations telling. Moo

I don't think that can be done because we don't have a time stamp for everything Martin said on that call, we do not have a recording of it either.

I agree. As a small woman, if a strange man were following me I would be terrified. Perhaps unnecessarily, but terrified nonetheless.
