He was already out of the car, and GZ reporting on TM's movements led the dispatcher to question, Are you following him now? in which GZ replied "yes" and then dispatch said, "we don't need you to do that" I have thought that when TM left the road and went to the sidewalk behind the homes that he was trying to shake GZ off cause he was in a vehicle.

BBM--This is the CRITICAL turning point! GZ also says "he is getting away" which leads any reasonable person to infer GZ set off in pursuit of the suspicious black guy in the hoodie. The confrontation did NOT happen near GZ's car...it happened on the path/walk way 70 yards from the safe haven of Trayvon's dad's girlfriend's home. In my opinion, if anyone had they right to STAND YOUR GROUND it was Trayvon. :truce:

HLN has confirmed that Sanford Police records show that Zimmerman did call police on February 2.

Zimmerman's complaint on the city's website from February 2 says, "Black male (leather jacket, black hat, printed PJ pants) keeps going to the residence which is owned by a white male. Black male subject in question was gone upon police arrival." The complaint also lists an address that matches Taaffee's residence.

Has it been confirmed that there really was a robbery in progress there?
Any signs of forced entry? Anything stolen?

Someone could be playing the hero stopping non-existent burglaries in progress.

That thought has crossed my mind as well.

Well, from experience, you take the bag of peas out of the freezer that you have just for these occasions of needing ice quickly to prevent swelling. (Everyone, you do have a bag of peas in your freezer right now don't you for these unexpected needs of trying to icepack a curved area? :floorlaugh: I did and do!) The ER doctor said go to another doctor in 2-3 days, "nothing we can do for you now" (except give a prescription for pain).

Spend 99 cents, get a bag of peas for your freezer :floorlaugh::floorlaugh:

BTW - The ER doc said that the swelling was the least that he had seen ...as within 30 seconds, that bag of peas was on the face! :twocents::twocents:

Black eyed peas work really good - less water so they tend to clump together less and they don't get mushy like green peas do when they thaw out. They do tend to smell a little odd when you fall asleep with the pea ice pack on and they thaw out completely and get warm. I know this from experience. :blushing:

HUH?

Has anyone heard or read anything about THIS?

I think that's a good example of why Examiner blog posts aren't consdiered MSM. The link she posted for ABC 7 just leads to a video of something that happened in Chicago, and according to the comments under the blog post, the Trayvon 911 call is just a rumor.

Really irresponsible blogging, if you ask me. :(

You have to live it to understand it, honestly. It isn't by any means a hard and fast rule, but it is a common line of thinking. I've been told various things.....that calling the cops won't do any good, since they will take their time, if they come at all. That they won't take you seriously. I've been told running makes you look suspicious and if cops are around it makes them want to stop you and ask you about why you're "acting funny."

I'm just repeating a tiny bit of what I remember off the top of my head what some teens at work have told me. These are very common perceptions, among many, that I've heard from mostly non-white teens and even adults.

I think those of us who were born with white skin have to consider that it is through no action on our part. The color of our skin is not something to be proud of..we did nothing to acquire it. Having said that..since the color of our skin isn't something we can determine in advance..we should all be careful in saying what "we" would do...we can't put ourselves in another person's skin and see the world they live in. All we can do is treat all mankind with the same love and kindness we'd want to be treated with ^i^

Saying that it would not have happened if TM stayed home that night is just a red herring defense! TM did NOTHING illegal that we know of, it's just as accurate to say that nothing would have happened if GZ had stayed home that night!

Oh but TM wasn't the one driving around with a loaded gun on his person, TM wasn't the one calling the police because he saw a black male teenager walking down the street, TM wasn't the one stalking someone just because he was a black male teenager, TM didn't do one thing wrong, but GZ sure did, and TM paid the price!

GZ didn't do anything illegal either. Gun was legal. He wasn't trespassing. Both statements are red herrings because both people had a right to do what they did UNTIL the physical fight started...that is where we need answers imo. If GZ was attacked by TM and acted in self defense, he did NOTHING wrong.

OMG

No papa - haven't heard this AT ALL. About a week ago - remember that one local TV station was reporting something about TM and 911. We all concluded that it was a "mis-leading" statement and they were talking about GZ's 911 call OR the 911 call showing on TM's records that was made on 3/2.

Wow! This could be huge. Why wasn't that showing on that screen shot of that page of phone records that we have? How could TM have had time to call 911 during the incident? Or, maybe TM called 911 BEFORE the gf called him? They why wouldn't he have told the gf that he had called 911?

Ugh!!! :banghead: hate when the media does this carp!

JMHO

Examiner Blog posts are not considered MSM media articles here on Websleuths, for just this reason.

How do you know he brandished his gun? Did TM know he had a gun? He may well have been attacked by TM, who was angry about being followed. SYG would certainly apply in that instance. TM could have escalated the situation into a physical conflict.

Trayvon was 17 years old, I would hope as the adult in this situation GZ would have listened to the 911 operator and do as he was told, "we do not need you to do that" meaning don't follow him.

Is this the same station that reported it back then?

I kinda remember Chicago. Either way - I sure hope all media outlets have jumped on this and submitted a public record request for this call. IIRC - 911 requests have to be quite specific- ie exact time, number called from, etc.

So, now - can't they request using TM's number?

oh man, I hate "drive-by sensational headlines" - lol.

ETA: I see now this is Isabelle Zehnder - her stuff has been allowed here before and IIRC she's been a guest on the radio show. hhhmmmmmmmm

Has anyone heard or read anything about THIS?

I had not seen that papa. I tend to take examiner reports with a liberal serving of salt. To me it seems sort of like the online version of Natl Enquirer.

I tried to follow the link they provided to ABC 7 where they claim they got this info but I am unable to find anything about a 911 call from Trayvon.

Now my curiosity is piqued.

The subject has been discussed... I could be wrong, but last I heard it was ruled by some as being an error on the journalst's part...JMHO

So you find nothing wrong with grown men following and stalking youth that they do not know?

jmo, imo and all that jazz

Thank you so much for finding that. I hadn't seen the entire thing. I guess what I saw was a replay on another news program as they only showed the part about, "if you plant corn, you get corn". As I said, the other members of the panel were flabbergasted.

Amazing, isn't it? smh
It's a pretty stunning statement, but then, everything Taaffe says makes me go :waitasec:

I bet GZ's attorney would love to have the right to tell Taaffee to :shush:

IMO, of course.

Yes, channel 7 ran that story and we talked about it one night and our member Rossva emailed channel 7 asking if it was true or a mistake. They sent him an email back a week later and she posted it. It said it was a mistake and the news guy got the facts mixed up with the names.

There is just as much evidence that he DID, you do not have to verbally or physically attack someone to threaten them and make them afraid, and by following TM with his truck, and then pursuing him on foot when TM ran in an obvious attempt to get away from him he did in fact do something wrong. When you follow someone around and intimidate them and make them afraid, even in the face of them attempting to get away from you it's called stalking and it's illegal.

IMO JMHO and stuff

I think this is that same story that was disproved - the date on it is March 26. Check the link.
