But isn't there just a certain number of days left to arrest GZ ? It seems as though time is running out ???

Am curious to know how the law in Florida works regarding time limit? I don't know.

I just got a CNN news alert on my phone that says:

Breaking news: Special prosecuter in Trayvon Martin shooting has decided against sending the case to a grand jury, her office says.

I find it hard to believe that the police station where the demonstration is taking place is closed, for that reason. Does the law in that city have any control? What a joke!

That's just crazy, IMO. I've never heard of a police department closing down for any reason.

Is the station closed, or are the front doors just locked for right now?

No Grand Jury in Trayvon Case
Angela Corey told The Miami Herald in an interview last month that she did not expect to need a grand jury, and would likely make the decision on whether or not to charge Zimmerman herself.

“I always lean towards moving forward without needing the grand jury in a case like this,” Corey said last month. “I foresee us being able to make a decision, and move on it on our own.”

On Monday, her office confirmed that no grand jury would be used in the case.

But we have to assume the home phone still worked. Mr. Martin would have no way to suspect his son was in trouble if TM did not try the home phone if his cell was turned off since cell phones are often off for one reason or another, while home phones are on all the time. jmo

How do you know he has what you term as a "home" phone?

The HOA could be sued for wrongful death.

The HOA allowed GZ to be NWC and since he misued his "position" by carrying a gun - the HOA was neglient in having a person like that there. Make any sense?

JMHO

It would be interesting. Were there any contracts or agreements signed by Zimmerman? Waivers?

Were hours of patrol assigned? I think they work in shifts. Does their brochure override his right to legal self-protection?

I don't think the HOA would be found negligent for having "a person like that" there - they don't run background checks, it's voluntary. From what I understand, this NW was not registered with the Ntl. NW.

This is a small HOA, I don't think they are going to get much - IMO, they will go after investors and the management company. JMO because I'm just pulling it all out my nether region :)

I know. What a comforting thing for the citizens of that area! Is it possibly a decoy, that GZ will be arrested and have to go to another unexpected location?

I'm hoping that the Feds will take over and this is the reason the state has decided not to go to the grand jury. Trying to stay positive..

People should be able to go to the store and come back in one piece!!

There's a peaceful student protest going on right now outside the doors.

So, Corey is going to take this heat all by herself. Kudos. But I fear for her. Regardless of what her decision is - she is going to have people after her and that's scary.

I really thought she would have used the GJ - if just to take that heat off her and her family. GJ's are average citizens, so why not let them decide.

This is one brave woman.

JMHO

Maybe I'm wrong, but my understanding is that if a GJ was convened, their reasoning behind charging GZ or not would be sealed and never released. But by Corey making the decision herself, she can release a statement explaining why she makes the decision.

To me, I think it's a smart move, so that no one can say that the GJ was bribed or didn't hear all the evidence, since Corey can explain the facts.

This news that Corey will not involve the GJ in this case is not really new - she already said that last week. I guess this is a a final ruling on whether to use the GJ, but really, it was quite clear last week what her intentions were.

he might already be in custody for all we know.

I've had the same thought, BB. I've never heard of a police station closing down before due to a protest. I mean they are the police after all. Post some dadgum officers at the door.

I am admittedly a bit jaded wrt this LEA but I wonder if this is an indication GZ has been arrested and this move was for security reasons due to high tensions.

NOT trying to start a RUMOR, just questioning why the police station was closed. Was the student protest peaceful? OH HLN just said the protest was peaceful. The crowd appeared small in comparison to other protests, IMO.

MOO

Could be reason why they suddenly backed out of CNN interview yesterday.

But they were on one of the morning news shows just this morning.

I think most people still have them because of emergencies. Not all 13 year olds have a cell phone. Plus with today's communication packages the phone is included in the price making it impracticable not to have one. jmo
