Could anybody tell me about what the taking heads are saying about George being acquitted/ found not guilty?

and why they think that.

It would appear that two veteran Investigators, a State Attorney, and the Judge who found probable cause based on their Affidavit disagree with this assessment.

That goes to his state of mind, the professional in this situation tells him they don't need him to do that and he says ok but goes on and does it. The dispatcher was concerned for everyone's safety. Zimmerman implied Trayvon had a gun in his waistband or something in his hand and acted all worried and excited about it. But even after hearing the dispatcher he was compelled to disregard the safety of all and continue towards this person with a gun for positive in his waistband. It was depraved indifference to the safety and life to all in the area.

You don't know that it's not true. The prosecutors today said that GZ profiled TM. I am a white woman who normally doesn't side with black activists (whom I'm not allowed to name on this thread), but in this case, they are right! This is about racial injustice IMO, and it's the most blatant case I can recall in my 51 years.

FWIW ...

when the SA's affadavit says "profiling" I don't think it means "racial profiling" or "hate-crime-type" profiling.

I think it means neighborhood watch patrol "profiling". As in, looks suspicious, doesn't belong in neighborhood, call 911 - type "profiling"

My son died. Trust me on this........no mother would let her child be buried without seeing the body UNLESS the funeral home convinces a parent that the shape the body is in would be a horrific memory to have....with that said, I still believe MOST parents would want or need to see that body...that is really the only way you can deal with it....the loss is too great, too sudden and too traumatic to accept unless you can have that body in order to convince yourself it is real.......in my very humble opinion.

I am fully aware of deaths of young and old where families have certainly been advised on viewing the body.....think fire fatality, etc......some are so horrific.........but I still think most just have to have that closure....it is hard enough to deal with the loss of a child......I don't know how Trayvon's parents are able to even carry on a coherent conversation........my heart goes out to them..........and to know their child was shot.............God Bless them.

IMO

I agree. If my child was in pieces, and fortunately he was not, I was gonna see him no matter what, because I know what every inch of him looked like.

Yeah, but I think in GZ's mind "looks suspicious" means racial profiling because he believed 8 burglaries in the neighborhood were committed by blacks, IIRC...

If Trayvon is not in a casket and in a masoleum, where do you think he is? I don't follow your questions. I guarantee you Trayvon's mother saw her son's body in the casket, even if no one else did. Been there, done that!

:grouphug: So sorry for you too. :(

I think they just found out that the trial will be held in Pinellas county.

And, I have another floor fan pointed at my body at night, while in bed. It can never be cool enough!

Wow, do we share the same home? Mine is an oscillating fan.

Whoa, where did any of those people call the dispatcher "law enforcement personnel"? Is it written in some sort of invisible ink that I cannot see?

Because if it's not and does not exist, that's entirely irrelevant to my post, and nothing more than a red herring. My contention is with the depiction of a civilian dispatcher as "law enforcement personnel". I thought you didn't like to play games with semantics? :waitasec:

Are you talking about 911 operators. They are civilians. Police dispatchers are law enforcement personnel. Not all LED are civilians. If a LE officer is dispatching he's still not in a position to arrest someone but that does not mean that what he is telling you can be disregarded. He has the authority on behalf of the police department to take your call, dispatch a patrol car and give you instructions to keep you safe or save your life....That is their function. LE dispatch works directly for the police department. Some 911 operators have to call LE or the FD to get them to dispatch to a scene. There is a difference. jmo

Has anyone seen Trayvons brother? He looks a lot like him, it was kinda eery.

in the least it's some type of "profiling", maybe not racial but based on age or gender -- aren't we all guilty of this?!

What "looks suspicious" is subjective. Eight burglaries in what time frame in this "gated community" . . . I want to know more about these crimes & when they occurred

I know that GZ admitted to shooting Tray.. but I can't get around the fact that he was heard asking "OMG what just happened here??" ... I think someone else was involved. Someone beat the crap out of GZ, maybe Tray was coming to try and help GZ since he was screaming for help. Maybe this person who beat the crap out out of GZ got his gun out, put it in GZ's hand and pulled the trigger on Tray... there are SO MANY maybes! I do not believe for one minute that GZ either confronted, or shot Tray on purpose. JMO

I must go eat before I go braindead.

Who knows?! Cannot wait to read the "facts" and ultimately find out what a Florida Jury decides . . . in any case, GZ will not be residing in the State of FLA

Agreed.

And this part is, strictly imo and absolutely distinct from any poster who might feel the need to distance themselves from my opinion or have the nerve or gall to agree.

If the SP could use the term "racial profiling" in good faith, they would have put it in all caps and had it explode with confetti and balloons when you clicked on it.

The large view of this case makes me absolutely ill. jmo

Perhaps, most of us judge people based on appearance, but we don't usually follow them, question them, and shoot them.

If Federal charges are filed, then we'll know for sure if it was racial profiling. IMO it was.

Holy Moley!! I leave for drinks with good friends and come back to -- well--- lots to catch up on!

I also just listened to the 1st 4 minutes of my local news and had no idea that we have had a 17-year-old and a 15-year-old murdered in the last few days. So sad!

So, anyone who can catch me up quickly, would be great! Thanks! XOXOXOXOXO

Exactly what I've been trying to say for umpteen threads. It's a LEO worst nightmare. Someone who decides to take the law into their own hands after they've called it in with LE running into a situation blind. What if LE got there just as the shot was fired and shot GZ thinking he was the "🤬🤬🤬🤬". Or there was a struggle for the gun and GZ shot someone else. I know how LE hates it because my husband was injured a couple of times by people who just did not listen to the dispatcher. It's not hard to do and if you do not understand what the officer is telling you, ask. Thank you for explaining that in a way I could not. lol
