OT while we are waiting for Gz court appearance.

Thoughtfox,
Wha's up with IN and AZ? Are those states in a time zone or in no mans land? :floorlaugh:

Seriously tho, are those states outlined in red because they stay on either standard time or daylight time all the year long?
Thanks for the lesson on time zones!

wm

AZ doesn't follow daylight savings time. We have all the daylight we need, thank you. ;)

Etilema, in response to your question about the knocking sound on the 911 call.....

I dunno. I guess that's why I am so curious about the outside sounds in this call.

According to csziggy's post on the last thread there were 3 sets of 3 knocks, 2:41:70. 3:04:07, & 3:07:40. Am I figuring it correctly at 26 seconds total?

Those dadgum mysterious knocks vex me! ;)

ETA: I just realized this was my 5001st post! woohoo!

To me the noises I described as clicks sound metallic - I thought maybe keys against each other or something metallic against glass, like a window. It also sounds very much like the noise the slide on the Kel-Tec PF9 gun does on the YouTube videos of that weapon.

Just before this is when the dispatcher tells GZ, "Ok, we don't need you to do that." Very shortly after - before the clicks begin - the wind sounds stop but I could not hear the sound of a car door as I could before the wind sounds began.

Here is something that really bothers me - how distracted GZ is while giving the dispatcher directions - which is going on at the same time I hear the clicking noises. He is remarkable confused about those simple instructions on how to come into the subdivision. Also the directions he's giving are NOT to the clubhouse or to the mailboxes but the to place where the sidewalk left Twin Tree Lane at the curve.

I wonder if after the dispatcher told him not to follow GZ got back in the car and that clicking noise is him playing with his gun, making sure a bullet is chambered, thinking about tracking down this "suspicious character". Even if GZ was back in his car until the end of his call to SPD there are over two minutes of unaccounted time before the 911 calls begin - plenty of time for GZ to hunt down Trayvon.

IMO, JMO, etc.

Would anyone be surprised if he did not get bond? I think I would, but I can see the judge setting it high.

Live Wire on the wesh link. They're talking about Casey Anthony case... something about the media?

Omara will hold press conference following arraignment

Plus if Trayvon is on top of him, pummeling him ( its hard for me to even type this with a straight face) and he has no other course of action, but to shoot him. We should still hear Zimmerman call for help, as Trayvon's massive 140lbs would have fallen flat on to him. My point is, we would of heard SOMETHING out of his mouth, even a grunt of frustration as he gets from under Trayvon. U'd think you hear Zimmerman's moans of pain, i mean he did just get beat up badly and head bonnced off the curb.

But once again, the fact that we hear nadda, the second the gun goes off, speaks volumes.

Something else that someone posted earlier today that I hadn't even thought about is the LOUD clarlty of the gunshot that can be heard on the witness 911 call. It seems to me that a gunshot fired with the muzzle either pressed against someone, or very close while underneath someone, would have more of a muffled sound.

There could be all kinds of interesting things we haven't heard about yet.

Is it a stinky squirrel incident or are they purposefully commenting?

and we're live...

Here is a quick and VERY amateur video I just made regarding the PF9, as there were some questions earlier about sounds in the 911 call. I don't know what the sounds were, but wanted to show what sound this would make if you were "preparing to use/carry etc.."

I'm not a gun expert, just someone who carries.

For comparison, here are the audio files I saved of the clicks:
http://www.woodswell.com/images/Trayvon/241click1.wav
http://www.woodswell.com/images/Trayvon/307click.wav

The other set of clicks were under the voices and not as clear so I did not get a clip of that set.

<modsnip> All you have are 911 recording to base this judgement off of. Have you ever fired blanks? I have. There's no projectile, but it's still clearly identifiable as a gunshot. The bullet does not have to break the sonic barrier for it to be vastly audible. Even weapons with suppressors aren't as "silent" as the movies make them out to be.

The echo was so bad, I couldn't hear a thing. What just happened?

  • #114
Zimmerman keeps doing this weird "eye rolling" thing? I don't think he is doing it as an act of annoyance, but weird just the same?

  • #115
No scar, no evidence of any sort of wound on his head...

Mike Galonos: "Very brief hearing."

and... we're done

  • #118
How long does that screaming last until the shots are fired? Would anybody have had time to hear and come save him?

Over forty seconds on the one 911 call that was early enough to have them. Long enough before that for the people to become frightened and to call the police.

So does he sit and spin in jail until may 29th?

  • #120
Can anyone with body language experience interpret what GZ's eyerolling means? That was just odd.
