Did I miss something? Now there's a report that claims TM was standing when he was shot?

--just wondering what the deal is on who wears street clothes to a hearing, and who doesn't?

--from court cases i've seen, we generally see the defendant in "prison blues" ( or orange or whatever..)

--even kc showed up to her bond hearing in 'blues' with wrist cuffs, leg cuffs and waist shackles.

--( and was given a 500,000.00 bond, ordered to undergo TWO court ordered psych evals----for, at that time,"just" charges of child endangerment and giving LE false info.)

--george's bond, from what we're hearing is 'expected' to be considerably less on a second degree MURDER charge----and he'll be wearing street clothes for his appearance.

O'Mara brought Zimmerman the clothes he will wear to Friday's hearing on Thursday and said he is confident his client will be granted bond.

BBM I'm still trying to figure out who these kids are? Mentoring is a volunteer thing? You can't just randomly mentor children, can you? What organization did he mentor through?

I don't have a link, but I do remember an article that stated George even mentored these kids for free and I was like... WELL DUH!!! It's a volunteer program!
Who would pay George to mentor them? :hills:

And the idea of "Judge George" nearly made me spew coffee! :spit:

Is it OK in mentoring programs for the mentors to have a history of domestic violence and assault?

  • #726
:D You got Coors for us northerners, ;) I may be wrong but it was illegal back in the day. :what: :giggle:

Not illegal any more, my beer of choice!

GZ wanted to be a lawyer or a judge, at 28yrs old when did he plan on fulfilling this dream ?

Ohhh Ohhhhh I know..and sure he'd find a clientel too

1) how to use contacts or people you know to your advantage
i.e. his folks who worked within the "Judicial System"

2) how to talk your way out of tough situations
i.e. specific laws that cover your assets

3) anyone can add on here...george has been shown to be very adept at getting away with things

Mentoring in 911 calling? He would give them fake phones and teach them how to snitch? IMO

SOoooo right at 28 he should have been doing his planned dream...I believe he's been the 'problem' child in the family...I picture him that way...

I wouldn't want him mentoring anyone I know..good point Donjeta, I wonder if his past offenses shows on a criminal check for work? I think GZ was a tragedy waiting to happen, if it wasn't Trayvon, it'd be somone elses child...

I got a sense of that in the video of him at the police station getting the cop to straighten his shirt. IMO

:floorlaugh: This made me think of a case in California, where a guy told his family and new young wife he was going to college to become a lawyer IIRC he forged papers from the college and told many many lies until his wife did a little checking and found out he had lied about the whole thing, then he told more lies to cover the old ones. well it was one big mess, and just goes to show that some will lie about anything. A little bit about a hollow-point bullet -

A hollow point is a bullet that has a pit or hollowed out shape in its tip, often intended to cause the bullet to expand upon entering a target in order to decrease penetration and disrupt more tissue as it travels through the target. It is also used for controlled penetration, where over-penetration could cause collateral damage (such as on an aircraft). In target shooting, they are used for greater accuracy and reduction of smoke, fouling, and lead vapour exposure, as hollow point bullets have an enclosed base while traditional bullets have an exposed lead base. In essence, the hollow point bullet has several purposes: hollow points designed to expand increase in size once within the target, thus maximizing tissue damage and blood loss or shock, and to remain inside the target, thereby transferring all of its kinetic energy to that target (some fraction would remain in the bullet if it passed through instead).

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hollow-point_bullet

After reading this, why in the world would Zimmerman need bullets like this for his gun? Why isn't this type of bullet illegal? This makes it even more sickening to me and Zimmerman can say all he wants to that he didn't think Trayvon was seriously injured but he knew full well what that bullet was capable of.

and to think there are people out there supporting this man and defending his actions. Sickening.

~jmo~

IIRC, there was a time when police departments fought tooth-and-nail to outlaw hollow point bullets, but the NRA crowd was against them. Guess who won?

I heard them kicking around some numbers could be as little as 10% of $250,000...with a house arrest...I hope not..

That he could have a good argument for not being a flight risk since he did turn himself in...LE knew he was out of state and still he came back on his own, that's one in his favor..I hope not again.:maddening:

He needs a safe house..I don't want anything to happen to him until he goes to trial..I want to see him squirm his way out...he's got some excited utterances that that he can't explain away...KWIM?

I don't have the link but I read or heard somewhere that GZ did not expect to be arrested, that he had offered to talk to AC and thought that was all that was going to happen, talk. So I am not sure about whether he technically did turn himself in.

IMO, JMO, etc.

NAHHHH trust me, real life is totally over rated, it's full of stuff like appliances that go on the fritz when your checking and savings accounts are low, and bosses who expect you to come to work on short notice on your day off and grass that needs to be mowed and a house that is in desperate need of cleaning, and water that gets shut off for half a day in the whole neighborhhod and stuff...who needs it.

With no attorney present?

I didn't know it went down that way, so I'm guessing the police were there to place him under arrest? How did I miss that?

I wonder if he was mirandized and then allowed to tell his side and he waived his attorney privlege? That's shaky ground...
